'Doctor Who': Jenna Coleman talks the next Doctor, 50th Anniversary and saying goodbye to Matt Smith
Jenna Coleman might be the luckiest girl in the "Doctor Who" universe. She joined the show as the Doctor's mysterious companion, Clara, in its 50th Anniversary season and found herself working with Matt Smith on his final episodes. Soon, she'll help usher in a brand new Twelfth Doctor (to be announced in a live international TV special airing this weekend).
In less than a year's time, she's acted alongside famous guest stars including Diana Rigg, John Hurt, Warwick Davis, Richard E. Grant and David Warner and just recently made her first trek to Comic-Con (where her boyfriend, actor Richard Madden, also turned up to promote HBO's "Game of Thrones").
We sat down with Coleman for a one on one chat during the recent TCA summer press tour to discuss "Who"-mania, the upcoming 50th Anniversary and Christmas specials, what it was like working with iconic stars from "Who" past, and...

The Beckham family had a busy weekend in Paris! On Saturday, David and his boys, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, kicked things off with a stop by the Paris Saint-Germain facilities, where they kicked around a soccer ball. The rest of the day was all about shopping, with the crew stopping by a Balenciaga store. Yesterday, David and the three boys took in the Psg game against Valenciennes, which David was forced to watch from afar since he received a one-game suspension last week. He and the boys later reunited with Victoria and Harper for a special visit to the Eiffel Tower to dine at Le Jules Verne. The restaurant, which is located on the second floor of the landmark, features stunning views of Paris and is accessed by a private elevator. All six Beckhams are in France celebrating David's birthday after he turned 38 on Thursday. He marked the fun milestone on Friday,...

Back in 2007, we ran an article called Gay Sex Scenes that Made Movie History. A delightfully naughty exploration of firsts and foresk- ... er, foremosts in terms of gay male intimacy on the silver screen, it celebrated some of the films that blew the celluloid closet to bits, one modesty sock at a time.
Six years later, it's shocking just how far pop culture has come in terms of normalizing gay characters and stories, and how much bolder the gay film audience has grown in demanding films that speak truthfully to their sexual experience (though, it must be said, the films that answer the call are usually decidedly outside of the mainstream). So we've decided to bring you an update to our foundational piece that looks at what has happened since. Of course, since most of the ground breaking was done over the last four decades or so, our focus is...

Following on from April's really rather disturbing David video virals comes team Prometheus' latest online offering in the form of this Noomi Rapace-starring clip we've got for you below.Showing Dr. Elizabeth Shaw begging Weyland Corp. to take her on her voyage of discovery via a video message, it's not quite as chilling as David's birthday celebrations, but still disturbing in its own flickery way.Aside from the garbled sound and the general forboding tone, what's really piqued our interest in this clip is the inclusion of the name 'Yutani' in the software used to analyse Shaw's face - as in, the Weyland Yutani. And yet, at this point in the Alien story, it's just Weyland Corp., so how do Yunati get involved? Only time, and watching Prometheus itself when it comes out in the UK on June 1, will tell.P.S. Did you notice the nice sight...

Just got back from a decent Italian flick David's Birthday which is playing at NewFest. My friend thought the title made it appropriate for my special day though the movie birthday in question wasn't exactly, um, celebratory once it rolled around at the end. But it's the thought that counts.
We liked the film's attention to a weird amount of ensemble character detail considering it kept threatening to become a one and a ½ man show in the Death in Venice mode. The plot, such as it is, concerns a married Italian man Matteo (Massimo Poggio) on vacation with his wife, played by the always welcome Maria de Medeiros -- I just love her movie face -- from Henry & June and Pulp Fiction, and another couple. Matteo becomes obsessed with his friend's 18 year old son David (Thyago Alves), an underwear model from New York. It's really not as tawdry as it sounds!

Rome -- Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story" will headline a 24-film competition lineup at September's Venice Film Festival, which is heavy on first and second films from up-and-coming directors.
The lineup includes five U.S. films, four each from Italy and France, four from Asia, two from the Middle East -- with all 23 films named Thursday as world premieres.
A 24th surprise competition pic to be announced during the fest would also be a world premiere, officials said. The fest will feature 71 world premieres.
"We are very pleased and very honored to announce this lineup," Venice artistic director Marco Mueller said in a briefing Thursday, where Fatih Akin's comedy "Soul Kitchen"; "Accident," a thriller from China's Cheang Pou; and "A Single Man," a drama from Tom Ford starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore, were revealed as part of the lineup.
All told, the fest will feature 16 first works and nine second works.
