[opening narration]
Amos Jones: This is Amos. Well, right now, me and Andy is in the taxi cab goin' down Amsterdam Avenue headed for the lodge hall. We just got a call from the Kingfish sayin' to rush over there as fast as we could. It was a matter of life and death.

Momma is particularly awful in this one.
While I have not seen every single episode of "The Amos 'n Andy Show", this is the best one I've seen so far and it made me laugh repeatedly.
For two days, Sapphire has been gone and Kingfish has no idea where she is. While you might think this would make him ecstatic, he's genuinely worried about her and is desperate. What he doesn't know is that his battleaxe mother-in-law is behind the disappearance. She's convinced Sapphire to disappear for a while...at least until Kingfish gets a job...which means she'll never be home!
Sapphire and her mother head to Miami...and Momma sublets her apartment to a cop. So, when Kingfish and Andy come snooping hoping to find Sapphire there, they misread the signs...signs which DO make it look as if this stranger might have killed them!! The final scene is incredibly funny...just see it and see what I mean!
The writers REALLY did a great job here. The plot is funny and very well constructed...and it's also very funny and clever. Well worth your time.
