When Angela tells Tony that Monsieur Pescher isn't coming, he punches the blob of food he was modeling into shape. She tells him that his daughter his coming, the frame cuts to Tony---who then tries to refashion the food into shape---but instead of showing the punched food mass, the mass was then almost intact and simply a little lopsided.
There are multiple references to a dinner party being held at the French Embassy, even though the show is set in and around New York City; France maintains its U.S. embassy in Washington, D.C., not New York. (If anything, the dinner would have taken place at the French Consulate in Manhattan.)
