- TriviaThis episode is based on the film "Stand By Me". Homer plays Wil Wheaton's part. And Moe is River Phoenix.
- GoofsIn the scenes that Homer is 12 years old, Waylon Smithers (the one we know and love, not the father) is a baby. But this makes no sense - Homer and Smithers went to high school together.
- Quotes
Mr. Burns: What are you doing in my corpse hatch?
Chief Wiggum: Mr. Burns, you're under arrest for murder.
Mr. Burns: Uh, did I say corpse hatch? I meant innocence tube.

An episode that grew on me
I wasn't keen on this episode first time around, but subsequent views have turned me around.
Homer's childhood memory comes back to haunt him here, but even though it gets a little gruesome, the heart of the show is still in the right place.
I enjoy this episode more each time.
