Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaAn early idea for the series saw Krusty the Clown being revealed as Homer Simpson's secret stage identity. This storyline never developed, but this episode allowed writers to comment upon the design similarity of the two characters. Krusty's appearance and design is just that of Homer's, with clown make-up. David Silverman enhanced the lines under Krusty's eyes, and reshaped his beard line in order to make a clearer distinction between the two characters.
- GoofsHomer is driving the Krusty clown school loan car late at night. The view cuts to him talking about the job, then he get pulled over by Wiggum. when Wiggum gets out, Homer is driving the Simpsons family car (the pink/purple looking one).
- Quotes
[hallucinates that the other Simpsons are clowns]
Homer: Marge?
Marge Simpson: Yes, Homie?
[starts humming the "Barnum and Bailey Circus" theme]
Homer: [no longer from his viewpoint] That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college!
[leaves]
Bart Simpson: I don't think any of us expected him to say that.

Krusty Squared
Krusty's profligacy causes him to create a clown school. Homer needs cash so he becomes a Krusty Klone. Unfortunately, stereotypical organized criminals enter the picture (Krusty owes them gambling debts). Homer must prove his mettle.
