- Kate's job as overseer of Sandra's property Kinsellas isn't quite her dream job as she isn't respected by the men. But all four women team up to help Kate when her men quit and she's forced to do a job alone.
- The women of Drovers Run are no longer a team of four. Kate, after being head hunted by Sandra, is working as overseer at Kinsella's. Jodi, after being fired by Stevie, has gone into business for herself, selling cosmetics, the hard way. Tess and Stevie are managing alone, but only just. Sandra lets slip that she's eager to buy some cattle. Kate, wanting to impress her new boss, tells the Drovers women about the deal although no price is discussed. Tess is interested - the cash would be handy, but Stevie's not keen to sell to Sandra, especially at the price she's offering. It's ridiculously low. But Tess agrees and sells to Sandra. It's not until Alex tells them about a deal that stock agents Worthingtons is putting together, that Stevie and Tess realise they've been taken for a ride. In a fury, Stevie goes to Kinsella's to confront Kate, who has no idea of what she is talking about. Kate is upset at having inadvertently cheated her friends but Sandra tells her it's just business. Meanwhile, Jodi has decided to become her own boss, as a cosmetics salesperson. But she may discover that trying to sell moisturiser and perfume to the local farmers is tougher than she'd imagined. Tess and Nick are still living apart while Nick cares for baby Harrison. But Tess is finding the separation harder to take as the weeks go by. But why won't Tess just ask Nick to come home, and why can't Nick make the first move? Will it fall on Tess's former flame Dave, who still cares a great deal for her, to try to get Nick to see reason?
