- TriviaIn the scene when Audrey draws Henderson's secretary away from her desk, she uses the fake name "Jane Espenson." Espenson was a staff writer on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), Angel (1999), and Firefly (2002), working with fellow writer David Fury, who is a writer and co-exec producer on "24."
- GoofsThere is a French flag on Suvarov's car at the beginning of the episode. The Russian flag has horizontal stripes, not vertical ones.
- Quotes
Mike Novick: [Before hanging up his cell phone] thank you, I'll let the President know
President Charles Logan: What is it? What's going on?
President Charles Logan: [after Mike is silent] who was that?
Mike Novick: Agent Pierce, I don't know how to tell you this Sir...
President Charles Logan: [Interrupts him] just tell me
Mike Novick: Mrs. Logan is riding with the Suvarovs
President Charles Logan: What're you talking about?
Mike Novick: Sir, she got into their limousine
President Charles Logan: Oh my God, didn't the Secret Service try to stop her?
Mike Novick: There was no reason to stop her: the motorcade is under Secret Service escort. As far as their concerned, she's not in any danger
President Charles Logan: She wants me to call back the motorcade, she's trying to save the Suvarovs
Mike Novick: Should I alert them?
President Charles Logan: Yes! Stop... wait, if we warn them, the terrorists are going to set off the gas. Where are they now?
Mike Novick: Still on the 1-18
But there's also the attack on Suvarov's motorcade, which serves as the big finish. It's a well-engineered action set piece that delivers on all of the Logan hand-wringing up to this point.
Looking back at these two elements, it's easy to forgive all of the maneuvering and drama going down at CTU, which honestly feels like major wheel-spinning.
