"He's tried to get out before... I thought I left it closed..." Freestyle Digital Media has debuted the adorable official trailer for an indie adventure titled Shedding, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Jake Thomas. This "gentle, heartwarming fantasy" is about a bored house cat who longs to explore the world outside of his living room. After he mysteriously transforms into a human, he escapes and is taken in by a kindhearted mother. It's kind of a flip on the "person turns into animal" concepts (see: Nine Lives) that we usually get. Shedding stars Lex Quarterman as The Cat, plus Karla Droege and Jacquelyn Zook. This looks quite amusing and a bit cheesy, but that's the point. And ultimately, I think it will end up reminding us of the value of friendship and kindness and unconditional love, as animals often do just by being around. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Jake Thomas' Shedding,...

Daniel Sharman seems to have an affinity for playing supernatural roles. Over the years, he has appeared in shows like The Originals, Fear The Walking Dead, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, and Teen Wolf. Now he’s about to make yet another supernatural appearance in the upcoming Netflix series, Cursed, which will air on July 17th. Although some would say that being typecast isn’t a good thing, it seems to be working in Daniel’s favor. Plus, just because he’s done several projects in the same genre doesn’t mean that he isn’t getting the chance to show his range as an

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday.
This week’s question: Inspired by the return of “Deadwood,” what’s another show that deserves a movie follow-up /wrap-up?
Joyce Eng (@joyceeng61), GoldDerby
I’m going to be that person and say nothing deserves a follow-up. Sure, some shows “deserve” one, like “Deadwood,” but nothing really does. Things end and that’s Ok! Even if it’s a frustrating non-ending or cliffhanger because you got canceled. There are too many things continuing and being rebooted and revived that don’t need to be. And yes, I know there’s a huge difference between ending on your own terms and getting abruptly axed with no closure, but I’d rather just be content with what I already got than hope a two-hour movie 10 years later lives up to my expectations. Because let’s be real,...

Another famous Rogue villain is making his way to The Flash Season 3.
If you thought the best Rogues had already come and gone, you were wrong!
Grey Damon will become Sam Scudder aka Mirror Master for The Flash Season 3 Episode 4. Does that mean he'll be a one and done character?
We'll have to wait and watch the show to find out whether Mirror Master will be in more than one installment, but even more interesting is whether or not he'll be fighting The Flash or Kid Flash.
We don't know yet how long it will take to set the wrongs of Flashpoint right...or even if that means we won't still have two flashes fighting the forces of evil on the streets of Central City afterward anyway!
Sam Scudder is a pretty well known guy in the DC canon. Real comic book fans were surprised he was left behind during the initial two seasons.

Fox is betting big on Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk this fall with the American Horror Story creators’ campy horror-comedy Scream Queens, and now that the first full trailer for the anthology series has been released, it’s easy to see why – seemingly every teen idol this side of Disney pops up in the preview.
Emma Roberts (Unfabulous), The Nine Lives of Chloe King‘s Skyler Samuels, Glee‘s Lea Michele and Keke Palmer (True Jackson, VP) are seemingly taking on the biggest roles in a cast that also boasts Abigail Breslin, Nasim Pedrad, Oliver Hudson, Billie Lourd, Diego Boneta, Glen Powell, Lucien Laviscount, Niecy Nash, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande. Oh – and original Scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis is on hand to provide the series’ real horror credentials (unless you want to count Breslin’s Zombieland and Haunter, which is entirely valid).
Unfortunately, the uneven tone displayed by this...

There's a Mikaelson family reunion in this week's instalment of The Originals. Here's Caroline's review...
This review contains spoilers.
2.8 The Brothers That Care Forgot
Hey Rebekah, we missed you! Please stick around, The Originals is a better show with you in it.
Yes, this episode contained the long-awaited return of the blondest Mikaelson with baby Hope in tow, and it was a reminder of just how much The Originals lost when she drove away from town last season. There were plenty of great characters to pick up the slack, and Hayley’s personality certainly benefitted from the requirement to be a new female lead, but there’s something Claire Holt gives to that character that just can’t be replaced.
But despite the fanfare, Rebekah was actually a very small part of a great episode – one that kind of had the entire generation of originals working on the same team for the first time.

Was the underrated CW series Nikita the most daringly feminist show since Buffy? Caroline argues it deserves more respect...
I’m not sure when it happened but, sometime after the 90s when shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Xena left our screens, television had a lot fewer female action heroines to offer. It’s arguably gotten a lot better since the lull that came directly after those much celebrated series ended, but there’s one show that has flown the flag while, at the same time, making almost zero impact on the minds of most television fans. The CW’s Nikita, which finished its own run a couple of weeks ago, will be remembered by its fans as being one of the bravest, solidly entertaining and ignored shows in recent memory.

Back in April, Dolphin Entertainment and Mattel announced that a live-action, feature-length film based on Mattel's Max Steel property was back in the works after the previous attempt (apparently with Twilight actor Taylor Lautner attached) went belly up. We know that Christopher Yost wrote the script and that Stewart Hendler will direct, but now The Tracking Board reckon the following actors are testing for the male and female lead roles. Noah Silver (The Borgias), Ben Winchell (Necessary Roughness) and Dylan Minnette (Prisoners, Lost) are testing to play Max. For the undisclosed female role there's Skyler Day (Parenthood, Ironside) and Skyler Samuels (The Nine Lives of Chloe King, The Gates). The story follows a teenager named Max, who gets imbued with an energy power called Turbo (Tachyon Unlimited Radiant Bio-Optimized) and is then partnered with Steel, a technological alien.

Although the former ABC Family series, "The Nine Lives of Chloe King," was canceled after a brief 10-episode season, the network and Alloy Entertainment gave fans a chance to get closure by releasing the script for the two-hour movie, "The Nine Lives of Chloe King: Salvation," online.
The series' conclusion was posted on Alloy Entertainment's official site on Friday (Sept. 13), and wrapped up all the loose ends the season-turned-series finale left dangling. AMC has decided it Better Call Saul for help after losing one of its signature series. AMC has reached a deal for the long-discussed Breaking Bad prequel focusing on the life of Saul Goodman before he met Walter White. According to Deadline, a series is set to be ordered as soon as deals can be finalized with Bob Odenkirk (who plays Saul) and spin-off co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould (who wrote the episode that introduced Saul).
If this prequel is still set in Abq, then from my perspective it’s all good, man.
For those of you who miss The Nine Lives of Chloe King, the series may not be getting a follow-up movie but you will be able to buy the script for that movie, as reported by TV Guide.

As fans of the ABC Family series know all too well, The Nine Lives of Chloe King was cancelled after one season of 10 episodes. The last episode wasn't intended to be the end of the series so it left viewers with plenty of cliffhangers.
There were some plans to end the series with a two-hour made-for-tv movie but it didn't happen. Now, ABC Family and Alloy Entertainment have announced plans to release the movie script this Friday, September 13th.
ABC Family Executive VP Kate Juergens said, "Although we ultimately decided not to continue with the series, we wanted to make the Chloe King movie script available to her amazing fans to provide them the closure they’ve been clamoring for."
Word is that the script will answer fans’ questions about Chloe's choice between Brian and Alek, The Order, Whitley Rezza’s true motivations,...

In a purrfect world, we would have gotten a second season of ABC Family's The Nine Lives of Chloe King. Unfortunately, 2011's cult fave about a teen (Skyler Samuels) descended from an ancient race of cat people only had one life to live, so fans were left with a lot of questions after its cliffhanger — and a lingering hope that they'd someday hear good news about the rumored Chloe King TV-movie.

When Zap2it settled on this list of 22 of our favorite shows that lasted only a single season, it was not without debate.
Certain shows -- including "Firefly," "Freaks and Geeks," "My So-Called Life" and "Terriers" -- were no-brainers. But there was a lot of discussion in the Zap2it office about whether "Harper's Island," CBS' 13-episode horror series from 2009, should make the cut. People also threw out titles like "The Nine Lives of Chloe King," "Moonlight" and "The Secret Circle" as well, along with one-off reality shows like "Murder in Small Town X."
We could tell you that picking 22 was purposeful, since that's the number of episodes in a typical broadcast-network season -- and one that most of the shows on our list didn't reach. But it's more of a nice coincidence, and as the internal debate proved, it could have been larger. So we'd like to re-open the voting to you.

Who are these amnesiac boys, rising up each month from a rusting elevator into the middle of a grassy glade?
What is this massive stone maze surrounding them, and why does it change shape each day? How long will some unseen intelligence keep testing them as they try desperately to escape?
These are the core questions of The Maze Runner, and EW has learned Patricia Clarkson will play the character with the answers.
Clarkson, who was nominated for a supporting actor Oscar in 2003 for Pieces of April, is best known for Shutter Island, Lars and the Real Girl, and The Station Agent.

Update: Salesmen have a saying, "Always ask for the order." That's exactly what Blake Cooper did to get the role of Chuck in The Maze Runner. The young actor did the digital equivalent of raising and waving his hand in the air. He tweeted the film's director Wes Ball to let make him aware that he wanted the role - and it worked! Cooper doesn't have too many credits, although plays a speech student in Parental Guidance. Still, he had the look and it turns out, the chops, so he got the job.
Other new hires are Anl Ameen ("Harry's Law") as Alby, Kaya Scodelario (Clash of the Titans) as Teresa, Ki Hong Lee ("The Nine Lives of Chloe King") as Minho.
April 19, 2013 - "Teen Wolf" star Dylan O'Brien will play Thomas in The Maze Runner, one of the boys who wakes up in the maze with his memory wiped clean.

We’ve been right on top of all the casting news coming out of The Maze Runner with the latest being the addition of Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien as the lead, Thomas. When Thomas reaches the Maze, one of his first allies and friends is Chuck, who’s only been there a short time. I kind of love that this part went to a relative newcomer.
Blake Cooper (left) definitely has the look that I visualized with reading Chuck’s character and he’s probably got some acting skills, ’cause this role isn’t just a part of the background. It’s a great character and I can’t wait to see what this kid does with the role.
Ki Hong Lee (right) has had some TV work with Mother Lover and The Nine Lives of Chloe King. He will be playing Thomas’ friend and sort of running mentor Minho.

It’s pilot season, which means your favorite out-of-work TV actors, actresses, creators and writers are getting a chance to return to the small screen once more.
Although we have yet to know what new series we’ll see next year, the networks have been busy selecting projects to consider for their schedules. So far, almost 100 scripts have been chosen, and audiences will only get to see a handful actually come to fruition.
Several are duds, but there are a few promising prospects that I hope network executives will keep around for the 2013-2014 season — even if it means they have to cancel old favorites to make room (just keep Parks and Recreation, Ok, NBC?).
