This is great!!!

Even if you don't know French, you can enjoy this wonderful French cartoon. My French is passable, so when you see something like "J+1", this means "day one", "J+30" is 30 days, etc.. What other French there is, is minimal and is NOT a problem if you can't understand it all--as the story is told quite visually.

The film begins with a man waking up to discover that he's magically turned into a lady!! He has no idea how to act feminine but soon makes a female friend who helps him/her. However, she/he soon notices that men are often pigs--as she is quite pretty and men hit on her like dogs chasing after a pork chop! He learns what it's like to be a lady in our world--in a very funny and ironic way. However, she also learns that being objectified can also be very profitable as well!! This all leads to an amazingly funny ending and the film manages both to make a great point about society and gender as well as entertain. It's not preachy but quite funny and profound! See this film--you won't be sorry. It's exceptionally well made and clever.

Charming and hilarious!!!

This is a delightful film! The animation lends the characters an unexpected, endearing quality; they are amazingly well fleshed out, particularly given that they don't say anything understandable throughout the whole thing (and not just because I don't speak French!). The underlying premise is rather unlikely, but something the folks who made the short really ran with--it is played out superbly. Oh, and I should mention that the "dialog" such as it was, had me rolling on the floor. I'm not sure how, but Geraldine traverses a wide variety of topics, and I was really surprised by it's ability to do that in such a short space (maybe I just need to watch more of these animated shorts--I'm fairly new to the genre). I am so glad I caught this--I would totally watch it if you ever get the chance!

How very 'crying game'.

Beautiful. Funny. Charming. And ,in the end, downright disgusting. All of the emotions i enjoy experiencing while viewing a film. Wonderful animation as well. The whole thing is very 'Crying Game'. Heh Heh. The stereotypes of people are parodied with genuineness. The music score and sound effects were also quite nice. Overall, i am glad i caught this. 10 minutes well spent. And, i may just watch it a couple of more times. I think the method of animation, while sloppy, was done in an excellent manner. The squiggle-vision feeling of the characters gives them a realism i had not expected. I had seen my fill of Dr. Katz and Home Movies and the like. But, this short film drew all of the best out of that style of animation. I really thought this was a smart comedy.
