It seems as though the actors were in earnest in their endeavors to kill each other

An excellent picture, the scene of which is laid in old England when knights and ladies were supreme. It is a love affair in which these interesting individuals play prominent parts. The element of jealousy is made of considerable importance, while there is plenty of action to keep up the interest. The last scene, the sword duel between the lord and the young man is one of the most thrilling and realistic pieces of work ever seen upon the screen. So honestly is it done that the duel appears real. It seems as though the actors were in earnest in their endeavors to kill each other. The young man vanquishes both the lord and his lackey, winning the lady, which the audience agrees is quite as it should be. - The Moving Picture World, March 23, 1911
