Netflix has changed its mind concerning the hit TV show NCIS. The streaming giant had said that it was removing the series completely at the end of June. This upset many fans, as it remains one of the most watched shows on television, and that includes on Netflix. The good news is that Netflix won’t remove the entire series.
Here is a look at what Netflix is doing with NCIS and when it goes into effect.
Netflix Will Keep Some NCIS Seasons After June
The original news stated that Netflix was removing NCIS from the streaming service at the end of June. It wasn’t much of a surprise since Paramount+ is the official home of the show and has the new episodes up after they air on CBS. However, for past seasons, the two streaming services shared the show.
That will remain true after June, now. However, it...

With all the NCIS franchise’s shows being over for a while until new seasons for some of them come later this year, the biggest problem to resolve isn’t even NCIS: Hawai’i’s cliffhanger that will probably never get its explanation, but rather Jessica Knight’s position.
In NCIS season 21 finale, the character left no doubts that she’s down for the big changes coming in her way after she accepted a big promotion. While it’s still uncertain whether she will in fact leave the entire show or will show up every so often as a guest star, what comes clear is that Knight’s position will soon become vacant for another character to take over, and, it’s fair to say, there’s already a long list of worthy candidates.

NCIS season 21 finale left fans across the world wondering how things will turn after the big cliffhanger that gives no certainty about Jessica Knight’s further fate. Well, it’s not bad after all, given that she finally got her dream job of the Chief React Training Officer, but what’s uncertain here is who is destined to take over Knight’s position at the McRt after she’s inevitably sent across the country to a new workplace.
While there’s nothing to say about whether Knight will leave the show for good or will rather appear as a guest in the upcoming seasons, the challengers for her vacant place are quite numerous, but only one of them fits in for several reasons at once.
Who Can Possibly Take Jessica Knight's Place?

NCIS season 21 is officially over, leaving its viewers on the hook for bigger things to come next season, and so far Jessica Knight’s storyline is what’s getting all the attention. One of the most beloved characters was dropped on a crossroad by the season 21 finale, though it was pretty clear that she was down for all the changes her career was about to go through.
Aside from the mystery of Knight’s possible departure from the entire show due to her big promotion, Jessica’s personal life is also at stake here, but the season 20 ending might give some hope for a better turn of events in the next installment.
Throughout its latest seasons, NCIS has been pretty clear that the relationship between Jessica and her colleague, Chief Medical Examiner James “Jimmy” Palmer, tend to be more serious than they both imagined first.

Today, it's hard to remember the state of television when CBS' biggest procedural hit was just getting started. Since 2003, NCIS has been one of the most successful shows on the network, as well as compared to other popular shows. Now, with a handful of spinoffs and 21 seasons of the main show, it's too easy to forget its origins.
Many believe that NCIS began as a stand-alone series, but this is not true. Created by Donald P. Bellisario, the show began as a spinoff of the unfairly forgotten CBS legal drama series Jag.
When Did Jag End?
Jag, which stands for Judge Advocate General in the U.S. military, originated on NBC back in 1995. The show wasn't as big a hit as you might think, judging by the NCIS numbers, but the move to CBS kept the story afloat and even made it more interesting. All in all, the drama lasted...

Even though the majority of NCIS fans are happy to see Ziva and Tony together, and even more excited about the new spinoff that will focus entirely on their relationship, they are still cautious about the actors staying on for the long haul.
Given that both Cote de Pablo, who portrays Ziva, and Michael Weatherly, who portrays Tony, have left the franchise before, their comebacks are something viewers prefer to remain cautious about. This is especially true for de Pablo, who has never addressed the details of her decision to step away from the role.

Despite being officially ditched around a month ago, NCIS: Hawai’i is still making headlines.
The show’s abrupt cancellation left everyone wondering what had actually led CBS to a decision to scrap a seemingly successful show with a fandom that is now more than ready to fight the network until it brings their favorite series back.
Fans’ numerous personal investigations proved that there could actually be a myriad of reasons, though just one of them remains the pivotal one, according to CBS representatives.
Though such an option seems to be very unlikely, NCIS: Hawai’i’s lovers still cherish a hope that the show will somehow repeat another CBS crime drama’s fate, but despite all the similarities, the circumstances are not that similar after all.

“White Collar,” the police procedural that concluded on USA in 2014, made its debut on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings with 717 million minutes watched during the April 22-28 viewing window, landing in the No. 8 position.
The decade-old show’s viewership bump is thanks to what has recently become known as the Netflix effect; the streaming service has seen big success licensing titles with high episode counts that have previously finished their runs on other platforms.
But unlike “Suits,” the best example of this for its historic Nielsen run in summer 2023, “White Collar” took three weeks to make it to the chart, having been added to Netflix on April 1. This is unusual, as titles like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Killing Eve” made the overall Top 10 immediately after their Netflix debuts as well, while “White Collar” hasn’t even been on the list of the Top 10 acquired titles before now.
Per Nielsen, however, the...

The finale of Shōgun pushed the series to its best showing so far on Nielsen’s streaming charts.
The FX-produced Hulu series had 608 million minutes of viewing time for the week of its finale, April 22-28. That’s a 45 percent jump from the prior week and Shōgun’s highest total in the nine weeks it has made the top 10. Its previous best was 513 million minutes for its premiere week, which featured the debut of two episodes.
Fallout claimed the overall No. 1 spot for the third straight week, the first such streak for a show on Amazon’s Prime Video. The series had 1.53 billion minutes of viewing, down by about 41 percent week to week. Its three-week total is now a little over 7 billion minutes.
Netflix’s water-cooler drama Baby Reindeer saw a 36 percent jump in viewing, climbing to 915 million minutes from 673 million a week earlier. Several original series also made...

If there's one Netflix feature that gets as much praise as it does hate from fans, it's the content rotation system. While it is exactly what allows the streamer to add and produce new TV shows every month, there are many movies and TV series that may leave in the middle of your rewatch.
This is what could happen to all the NCIS fans who have just started binge-watching the show, or are watching it for the very first time on Netflix. In a little over a month, the iconic procedural will be gone from Netflix. But don't rush out and binge all 15 seasons at once, because there's a confusing catch.

NCIS: Hawai’i recently ended with a major cliffhanger, forcing numerous fans across the world to go further with their revenge by calling out CBS in many different ways, but some of them still cherish a hope that the ending’s big mystery can be unveiled without bringing the show back to the screen.
Despite being unfairly ditched by the network, the spinoff still has a chance to push its main character towards the franchise’s origins show as some recent events there have proved there can indeed be a suitable place for her.
However, the character would be a much better fit if she was to replace someone very different.

Nearly a month after the cancellation news broke, nobody seems to be fine about NCIS: Hawai’i’s unenviable fate. Despite relatively good ratings and lots of love from NCIS’ fans, the show was scrapped after 3 seasons, the last of which left the viewers with a major cliffhanger that might never receive its explanation.
While some especially devoted fans are doing their best to confront CBS and force the network into bringing the series back, the cast seems to have reconciled with the news, saying goodbye to the show on their social media.
One of NCIS: Hawai’i’s actors has recently taken to Instagram to share his thoughts about the beloved series, but there’s another reason why the post has drawn so much attention.
Amid all the fuss concerning the cancellation, Ernie Malik’s actor Jason Antoon used his Instagram account to commemorate the good times he had while filming the series.

NCIS: Hawai’i’s cancellation news has caused quite a stir in the media that hasn’t subsided ever since the news broke back in April.
Some most devoted fans started their own investigation to find out the exact reasons for CBS' decision to ditch the high-rated show, others in the meantime were keeping busy creating and spreading a word about a petition that was supposed to unite NCIS: Hawai’i’s lovers in their fight for the series’ future on TV.
As now the show’s comeback after the cancellation seems less and less feasible, CBS’ other successful shows suddenly got all the heat being blamed for stealing NCIS: Hawai’i’s time slots and even ratings. However weird it may sound, the NCIS franchise’s other spinoff is also one of such series.

Despite the fact that everyone loves CBS' popular and extraordinarily long-running investigative procedural drama called NCIS, one can only be loyal to something for so long. And when the characters you have loved and rooted for for so many years leave the show, it can be hard to adjust to a new reality.
But even if you're the most diehard NCIS fan and can't imagine giving up the show, there's still a chance that there's something else out there that you might like even more than a 19-season show. To find out, check out these 5 shows that give off similar vibes.
1. Scorpion (2014-2018)
Well, there were a lot of different opinions about this show, but one thing is clear: it doesn’t matter how perfectly logical or complicated the storylines were, the audience still enjoyed the amazing characters doing their thing together.

CBS’ police procedural giant NCIS keeps expanding its universe with more spinoff shows coming soon, and one of them may finally give the fans what they’ve wanted all these years.
The franchise’s upcoming 10-episode series titled NCIS: Tony & Ziva is set to take a closer look at what life is like for the original show’s characters Tony Dinozzo and Ziva David after they both left NCIS several seasons ago.
With no one else to put its focus on, chances are that the new series will dive deep into Ziva David’s background story, something the flagship show was never able to do.
Initially introduced in NCIS season 3, Ziva David, portrayed by Cote de Pablo, was like a breath of fresh air for the show that would now have a new compelling character to explore.

Everyone knows that CBS is America's most watched network, and it's home to many extremely popular long-running shows. The example that we all know for sure is The Big Bang Theory, and of course, how can we live without NCIS, right?
But before they became the most popular shows in the world, there were many other amazingly crafted projects on CBS – the ones that are still considered genre-defining or groundbreaking pieces of television.
Here are 5 old but gold shows you need to watch right now to feel the brilliance of days gone by.
1. Magnum, P.I. (1980)
Missed Tom Selleck's mustache? Well, time to check out the young version of it. In Magnum, P.I., the actor plays Detective Thomas Sullivan, a former Navy lieutenant and Vietnam Special Forces veteran who resigned his commission at the age of thirty-three. The main reason? To move to Hawaii and live the life he never had when he was younger.

The NCIS franchise keeps expanding its universe as it’s about to bring Leroy Jethro Gibbs to the screens, the character who left the original show back in season 19. The franchise’s new spinoff titled NCIS: Origins will take its viewers back to 1991 when young Gibbs was about to start his career as an NCIS agent.
Now that the whole series will put its focus on the character’s personal and professional story, Gibbs appears to get not only an honor of his own show, but also the status of the franchise’s most featured character that previously belonged to someone else.
By taking up the spotlight in the upcoming spinoff, Gibbs officially becomes the NCIS universe’s indispensable game player who’ll now be featured in four shows of the franchise.

When the show lasts as long and has as many branches as NCIS, changes are inevitable. While some are more welcome than others, sometimes fans just have to brace themselves and prepare for all possible scenarios. After Gibbs' departure from the show, this point has become even more apparent.
While it's understandable that it can be hard to get used to any replacement, change isn't always bad. And if you open your eyes and your heart, you may come to accept the way the show is going, as many other fans have already done. The devastating truth is that Alden Parker is exactly the person NCIS needs.
Why Didn’t McGee Replace Gibbs?
Everyone in and out of the NCIS universe was shocked to see McGee remain a senior agent instead of taking Gibbs' place when he left. It seems like a no-brainer not only to the audience, but also to Leon Vance,...

Last month surely wasn’t the best time for CBS, with the network receiving backlash after canceling several successful shows at once. The list of unfortunate series that were unfairly scrapped included one of the NCIS franchise’s spinoffs NCIS: Hawai’i, and fans were left bewildered by such a harsh decision as literally nobody, including the cast, had seen it coming.
The show lovers’ own investigations proved that the spinoff wasn’t that unprofitable for CBS as its ratings were pretty much decent, but now it seems like the network’s other show and its raving success may be the most solid reason for the cancellation.
At least TV Insider writer Matt Roush’s article suggests so. According to him, the hit status of Young Sheldon, a prequel for CBS’ famous sitcom The Big Bang Theory which recounts Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in Texas, may have been the final...

NCIS’ successful spinoff show NCIS: Hawai’i is officially over after a 3-season run, and so many good things sank into oblivion with it after all the cancellation news.
While devoted fans are still trying to bring their favorite show back to the screen, it seems to be barely possible and the series’ huge milestone that no other NCIS show ever had may be gone too unless the franchise’s original series steps in.
Before NCIS: Hawai’i was unfairly canceled, it had a nearly perfect LGBTQ+ community representation thanks to the show’s characters Kate Whistler and Lucy Tara. The relationships between Whistler and Tara evolved in a very natural way proving that the characters had a lot of love and care for each other with no sexual undertone highlighted throughout the show.

NCIS: Hawai’i’s story may be over, but some of its actors aren’t going anywhere, and in quite a weird way. The show was officially canceled earlier this year after 3 seasons, but the NCIS franchise lives on with the original show’s continuous long-standing run and two more spinoffs making their way to the screens quite soon.
Though characters’ shift from one show to another within the same universe is something normal on modern TV, the recent casting news regarding one of NCIS’ spinoffs isn’t what fans may have expected in this case at all.
Though NCIS: Hawai’i has been unfairly ditched, NCIS nonetheless gets more space to expand its universe by diving deeper into the main characters’ personal and professional stories.

This year, several television shows have been canceled much to the chagrin of fans. Several of them were popular shows that still got good ratings. However, some of them also didn’t get proper endings. An example is CSI: Vegas, which will end with several cliffhangers. Another show this happened to was So Help Me Todd.
Fans have lashed out at the network about the show’s ending and here is what you need to know.
So Help Me Todd Ends Series With Cliffhanger
When CBS explained why it was canceling shows like Blue Bloods, the network said it needed to “freshen up” the schedule by adding new shows. That means some fan-favorite shows had to end. However, they also said that they wanted to allow the shows to end on notes that ended the stories.

Family Guy was one of the biggest stars of the 2024 upfronts, prominently featured at two different presentations – Fox and Disney. “Killing Eve” made its way onto Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for the April 15-21 viewing window, enjoying a similar effect as titles like “Suits” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” that have seen increased popularity upon being added to Netflix despite having concluded years ago. The BBC thriller was watched for 719 million minutes in its first week on the streamer, landing at No. 8 on the chart.
But an interesting aspect of the series’ surge is the demographic breakdown of its audience. Per Nielsen, one third of “Killing Eve” viewership this week came from people age 65 and above, representing the largest concentration of viewers. That’s a surprise for a series perhaps most famous for the sexual tension between its two female leads, with one being a psychopathic assassin.

Netflix’s Baby Reindeer entered the streaming top 10 in mid-April, and given the continued buzz around the series, it’s likely to stay around for a while.
The show drew 673 million minutes of viewing for the week of April 15-21, according to Nielsen’s latest streaming rankings. That was good for third place among original series and ninth among all titles.
Prime Video’s Fallout had a second straight huge week, if not quite as big as its first. It should be business as usual for the 2024-2025 season, with a mix of returning and new shows in the networks’ primetime lineup. As always, there are dramas, comedies, animated series, and unscripted shows filling the time slots. There are some changes. CBS once again has back-to-back NCIS shows, but it’s the new prequel Origins, taking over Hawai’i‘s timeslot following the spinoff’s cancellation. CBS is also going with what it knows works, with the Young Sheldon spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, taking over the franchise’s Thursday night slot. The network will also be airing the final episodes of Blue Bloods this fall. And Fox shocked fans by moving Family Guy to midseason for the first time since 2005. CBS’ police procedural drama show NCIS has been a solid game player on TV for more than twenty years now, especially after the show cemented its position as an unyielding installment on the channel when it launched several spinoffs that also got everyone’s acclaim.
While all of the previous spinoffs followed quite the same pattern over the years of their television run, the new ones seem to be breaking the whole franchise’s most common code and thus expanding it even more.
Initially started back in 2003, NCIS was continuing its successful TV path accompanied by four spinoffs with each and one of them going into different geographical directions, quite literally.
The first series titled NCIS: Los Angeles kicked it off in 2009 and followed the Los Angeles-based Office of Special Projects, a separate division of NCIS. The same suit was followed by NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Hawai’i and NCIS: Sydney,...

When an estimated 1,000 international TV buyers descend on Los Angeles for the annual TV event known as the LA Screenings, they will see a contracted market still recovering from the twin Hollywood strikes of last year and, to a somewhat lesser extent, the pandemic.
It kicks off with the LA Screenings Independents, held May 15-17 for smaller studios and distributors at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel, which are then followed by screenings at the major studios’ respective lots across May 18-22 where they present their latest shows. They may also host a variety of events for their clients during those days, which may include cocktail receptions and luncheons or dinners with talent and executives.
While stalled projects ramped up as soon as the strikes ended, some delays were inevitable. “A couple of months ago I was wondering if we were going to be entertaining [buyers],” says Lisa Kramer, president, International Content Licensing,...

Amid all the cancellation news concerning a 3-season television run of NCIS: Hawai’i, fans are more than ready to strike back to bring their favorite show back to the screens. Following the suit of So Help Me Todd’s fans, those who were keeping an eye on the NCIS’ spinoff all along created a whole new petition and even got some support from the show’ main cast.
Though some more previous similar attempts did work out for other series that were eventually brought back, the same happening to NCIS: Hawai’i remains a very implausible option, yet the creators still might come up with a plot twist that will be just fine for both spinoff and original show.
NCIS’ season 21 finale has recently made a big revelation about Jessica Knight’s career boost in the upcoming season 22. The latest episodes showed Knight saying “Hell yeah” to Director Leon Vance’s offer...
