Claims to be the first democratically chosen movie. After the great success of Manitou's Shoe (2001)'Michael "Bully" Herbig' let the viewers of his TV-show Bullyparade (1997) decide which subject his next movie should have. The viewers could choose between "Der Schuh des Manitu 2", "Sissi - Wechseljahre einer Kaiserin" (later made as Lissi und der wilde Kaiser (2007)), "Ein Film, wo keiner mit rechnet" and "(T)Raumschiff Suprise".
Mr. Spuck says that he sold the recipe of "Käsesahne" to McDonalds. When this movie opened in cinemas German McDonalds' sold "Käsesahne" for real and other items related to the movie.
The title song "Space Taxi" and almost all other songs are written by Stefan Raab, host of TV total (1999) and comedian who has also had several chart hits in Germany.
When they tried to beam, they hop around three fields, a reference to the children's quiz 1, 2 oder 3 (1977).
