A young Victorian woman learns empowerment through a messy situation

"A Visit from the Incubus" is a weird and beautiful art/house film. It has all the makings of a 1960's vampire western with a unique twist at the end. I love the cinematography and costumes because they are so over the top and painterly.

Anna Biller was the writer, star, and style maker of this short film. A longer film would be appreciated because of my love of the kind of movie with great

attention to detail in a non-Hollywood way.

Watching Anna Biller walk through the scenery she has created with her own two hands is like watching some fantastic stop-motion animation of a city being built. Mesmerizing, mind-boggling, and unrelenting. You are held in the grasp of her power and thrilled to see her emerge as a star.

Bunuelian horror, western, musical that has to be seen to be believed.

This is the movie everyone has been waiting for. At last, someone has managed to combine "Horror of Dracula", Doris Day's "Calamity Jane" and "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie" and be just as good as any of 'em! Cinema lovers take note, Anna Biller is a filmmaker you can trust!

I am truly ensorcelled by "A Visit from the Incubus" - the beautiful cinematography with the rich colors of an authentic sixties western, the meticulous attention to detail in the lush interiors and period perfect costumes, and the subtle sense of humor that quietly works its way through the dialogue, always keeping you interested and looking for the next little gem. I highly recommend this film not just for entertainment value, but as a study in what is possible to accomplish in short film.
