It’s easy to think of the kind of stories that get told in the comic book world as just one genre or tone, but as seen below, graphic novels, comic strips, and other sequential art have offered up an incredible range of storytelling. And these stories have been inspiring great TV shows for years, even before superhero stories dominated the box office.
There were plenty of options that nearly made the list, like the WB’s “Smallville,” which squandered its early potential after running just a few seasons too long. Because one of the most exciting things about these stories is that there’s a rich variety to choose from.
With editorial contributions from Liz Shannon Miller, Ben Travers, and Hanh Nguyen.

Nothing stays the same forever. Not even summer.
It’s a fact most people have to come to terms with on their own time, but in The Summer I Turned Pretty’s second season, rapid-fire change drags its characters along kicking and screaming, whether they’re ready or not.
Fans of the show or its source material — author Jenny Han’s bestselling romance trilogy — will welcome the return of main character Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and the windswept, salt-drenched location of Cousins Beach. The fictional waterfront, and its iconic beach house,...

A new version of the Emmy-winning space opera television series Babylon 5 is in the works. The CW has put in development Babylon 5, described as a “from-the-ground-up reboot” of the critically acclaimed 1990s series, from original series creator J. Michael Straczynski and Warner Bros. Television.
Written by Straczynski, the reboot revolves around John Sheridan (played by Bruce Boxleitner in the original series), an Earthforce officer with a mysterious background, who is assigned to Babylon 5, a five-mile-long space station in neutral space, a port of call for travelers, smugglers, corporate explorers and alien diplomats at a time of uneasy peace and the constant threat of war. His arrival triggers a destiny beyond anything he could have imagined, as an exploratory Earth company accidentally triggers a conflict with a civilization a million years ahead of us, putting Sheridan and the rest of the B5 crew in the line of fire as the last,...

Brockhampton have released their new video for “Don’t Shoot Up the Party.” The song appears on Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine, which dropped last month. A deluxe Plus Pack version of their latest LP arrives on Friday.

HBO Max has a lot to offer in August, with titles to look forward to including the premiere of a brand new Seth Rogen movie called “An American Pickle” on Aug. 6, and Christopher Nolan’s 2008 Batman film “The Dark Knight” out Aug. 1.
The nascent streaming service also shares content with HBO, with new films coming like “Jojo Rabbit” out Aug. 1, “Birds of Prey” out Aug. 15, “Richard Jewell” out Aug. 8, and “Queen & Slim,” out Aug. 22. The upcoming series “Lovecraft County,” which mixes fact and fantasy and takes place in 1950s Jim Crow America, arrives Aug. 16.

Supergirl had an interesting second season. Not only did the series move to The CW after spending its first season on parent network CBS, but it also delved a lot more into Kara’s life as a person outside of her powers. 3.12 Brother's Keeper
As I watched Brother’s Keeper I couldn’t help but think that if Fear The Walking Dead’s third season were a Choose Your Own Adventure book, every plot choice would hinge on the Clark family making a bad situation worse. That’s especially true of this episode, in which Nick is indirectly responsible for killing Jake. Had he let the Otto brothers sort things out, there’s a good chance Jake might have survived. And while he might have survived this particular encounter, there’s also a pretty good chance Jake wouldn’t have survived until the end of the season. How could he, when he was constantly...

Who was the first to pay the price for Madison sparing her psychotic surrogate son? Read on…

Nature abhors a vacuum, and any vacuum will inevitably be filled by something. That goes double for a power vacuum. With the death of Jeremiah Otto at the end of last season comes an uneasy partnership between two warring factions. On one side, Walker and his American Indian tribe. On the other, Jake and Troy Otto and the tattered remains of the Otto militia. If that's not a recipe for disaster, you don't know Troy Otto.

(Aotn) We have been eager for the second half of season three of AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead” to premiere, especially after getting the chance to check the extended trailer and catch-up with the cast while out at San Diego Comic Con. It may haven taken them a little while, however we can say with some level of certainty that “Fear The Walking Dead” has finally found its’ footing and has begun to equally rank right up there with its’ counter-part series, “The Walking Dead”. Kim Dickens (Madison), Colman Domingo (Victor Strand), Mercedes Mason (Ofelia), Michael Greyeyes (Qaletqa Walker), Frank Dillane (Nick), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), Dayton Callie (Jeremiah), Sam Underwood (Jake), Daniel Sharman (Troy), and showrunner David Erickson were on hand to give us some of the inside scoop.
Fans of the series have been clamoring for quite some time that they would love to eventually see a cross-over...

To many, Supergirl is an important superhero show. Not only is it a successful example of a DC show, but it also flies the flag for female superheroes. With the release of Supergirl: The Complete Second Season, things are bigger and on an even greater scale, but does that make it a success?
With Kara (Melissa Benoist) striving to make herself as successful journalist at Catco Worldwide Media, she also has to do the same as Supergirl. Working with her adoptive sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), the Martian Manhunter at the Deo, the stakes have never been higher. Thankfully, she has friends and family (including Superman) to help her save the day.
There are a lot of important things that happen in this season, which feel ground-breaking for the show. This includes the “coming out” of Kara’s sister Alex. This is important because of the way it is handled,...

Man, are the grave diggers at the Otto ranch ever gonna be exhausted. Sunday’s Fear the Walking Dead bumped off not a character or two but an entire family. And possibly even more disturbing, the cause of death was neither walkers nor Walker and his land-reclaiming tribe — and Madison ably lied about the massacre to further her own agenda. In the wake of last week‘s Daniel-centric Fear the Walking Dead, Sunday’s installment accelerated almost all of the series’ plots, revealing whether Madison could really handle maniacal mama’s boy Troy as well as she insisted she could, bringing Nick and Luciana, as well as Jake and Alicia, to turning points in their relationships, dropping Strand into a predicament that was arguably as dire as his near-execution by Dante, and introducing a whole new threat. It’s the end of the world as we know it — but does Fear the Walking Dead’s Clark family feel fine?
This review contains spoilers.
3.3 Toetwawki
Everyone has something interesting to do in Teotwawki (short for The End of the World as We Know It); and it looks as though Fear The Walking Dead is narrowing its focus (for now) to the Clarks—how they come together, stay together, and measure up against their more seasoned counterparts, the Ottos. The latter may be fully prepared for the Te part of Teotwawki but the Clark family was caught unawares at world’s end, struggling daily for survival. So is it any wonder that the relative safety of the ranch holds such appeal for Madison? Losing Travis has caused her to rethink her priorities, though Nick and Alicia are a bit removed from her thinking in this regard.

After the Season 3 premiere of Fear the Walking Dead, you might have thought that there was no place a character could possibly feel more insecure than the Ottos’ compound (at least short of, say, Negan’s Sanctuary on The Walking Dead). But in Sunday’s episode, Strand proved us all wrong by being made a “guest” at an even less safe haven — and reuniting with a foe whose comeback showrunner Dave Erickson foretold more than a year ago. How dire was the predicament in which the sly devil found himself? Let’s put it this way: If at the Otto...

Den Of Geek went to Mexico to spy on the filming of Fear The Walking Dead season 3 - here's what we saw...
Standing in the middle of a remote Mexican valley in Tijuana, only accessible by an ‘upgraded’ dirt track that threatened to dislodge both the production vans' wheels and maybe a few spines, I suddenly felt utterly vindicated from any time during an interview when I’d asked about location enhancing an actors’ performance. With rolling hills, quite literally as far as the eye could see, it was impossible not to be overwhelmed by the majestic beauty of the dusty, yet strangely fertile landscape, and that was before even setting eyes on the incredible work that production designer Bernardo Trujillo and his crew had integrated into a new setting for Fear The Walking Dead simply called ‘The Ranch’.

When AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead returns for Season 3 (9/8c, Sunday, June 4), you may not recognize its core family.
Madison, Travis & Co. are still played by the same actors, of course. But “now they’ve been knocked around quite a bit,” showrunner Dave Erickson tells TVLine. “They went from the boat to the hacienda to the hotel, Nick went to the colonia, and what they’ve seen is that everything in this world is impermanent. Every time you try to get a hold on something, it goes away. So moving into the season, the group is far more assertive and stronger.

Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista), and our personal favourite, Baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), are back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2! They're facing off against a new enemy looking to cleanse the universe - and (hopefully) saving the galaxy again, with Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) along for the ride.
One of our favourite parts of the first installment was the kickass song choices. The soundtrack was just released for Vol.2 and it doesn't disappoint! Check out the list below and see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

We nearly lost Mon-El to his evil parents on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 17, but luckily Team Supergirl managed to keep him on Earth.
Queen Rhea is not about to accept defeat and return home though. She has other plans for her son.
Below, TV Fanatics Steven Ford, Christine Orlando, Jim Garner, Yana Grebenyuk, and Kathleen Wiedel discuss her ulterior motives, Lynda Carter's return, and potential consequences for J'onn.
Why does Rhea want Mon-El to come back to Daxam so badly? Do you think she really loves him, or does she have ulterior motives?
Steve: Well, considering the fact that she just murdered her husband, I think it's safe to say she has ulterior motives. Is it strange that the first thing that comes to mind is Rhea having some weird Oedipus complex by killing her husband in order for Mon-El to be the new king?
Maybe I'm just reading too...

This episode of Supergirl is all about alien abductions. Not the best episode, but not the worst, and it is action packed right from the start as an innocent family gets abducted by Cadmus forces posing as Police officers. Back at the D.E.O. we learn that the abductions are happening all over the place. Kara has a brilliant idea to run a piece in the newspaper and tries to convince her boss, Snapper, to do just this. He laughs it off, but decides to meet with Supergirl, unfortunately Supergirl refuses to give him a credible source, so he refuses again.
At the alien bar, a major raid happens where all the aliens are grabbed and James is there to try and save the day by coming in as Guardian -- the least useful superhero on the show. Back at the D.E.O. we get a glimpse of Mon-El,...
