I don’t play first person shooters anymore. Back in the early days of the Xbox, I was a fervent, if untalented, Halo addict, staying up until all hours of the night with three friends in a cramped bedroom repeating the same loop of Hang ‘Em High, Boarding Action and Battle Creek, every game ending invariably with me at the bottom of the scoreboard. We rarely played the single-player; it was fun but it didn’t provide the same adrenaline-pumping, nerve-scraping experience we compulsively craved. I cut my teeth on Halo: Combat Evolved but it didn’t take long for me to discover that, as first-person shooters went, it won my attention by merit of being the only game of its ilk we had access to, lacking high end PCs with which we could experience the games whose shoulders it stood on to attain its marvelous heights. Years later, just...

For its fourth and final season, the CW spy drama Nikita returns with six final episodes. The third season finale cliffhanger left Nikita (Maggie Q) as literally the most wanted woman in the world after she was framed for assassinating the U.S. President in the White House. But, as fans recall, while Nikita may have brought the gun into the Oval Office, she did not actually pull the trigger – the President shockingly did that herself, or rather a woman who looked like the President. We later saw that Amanda had the President carefully locked up, far away at the time a doppelganger shot herself trying to make it appear as if the President was actually dead.
So Season 4 opens with Nikita on the run, alone, and seeking a way to clear her name – and the names of all those she holds dear. In the episode aptly named “Wanted,” we...

A couple of weeks ago, I got to go along to Spy Games near Milton Keynes for a rather fun and interesting day learning just how movies like The Bourne Legacy could be made and the sort of things that some of the actors like Jeremy Renner or Matt Damon of previous incarnations would go thoroughly to make their characters as life-like as possible. During the day, we (MSN, Huffington Post and Flipside) learnt to shoot, fight and skulk our way into enemy locations without alerting anyone to our our presence as well as looking at technology that investigators use in real-life situations that will blow your mind or get you rather worried that you could be being watched at any time without even knowing it!

Captain Kirk and Bane fighting over Johnny Cash's wife? Sounds like a new movie from the director of "Charlie's Angels" to us.
Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Reese Witherspoon and several other lookers got some action at the Hollywood premiere of "This Means War," the romantic action comedy thriller (got all that?) from director McG in which two CIA agents engage in all-out war with each other when they discover that they're dating the same woman. Spy games get rough when a hot blonde is involved!

Spy games will get more romantic as "This Means War," the action comedy about a love triangle that could spark an international incident, will infiltrate its way into theaters on Feb. 14, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Well, we suppose the comparison was inevitable. Moviefone has stepped up with ten similarities between "Star Wars" and George Lucas' love letter to a group of World War II flying aces, "Red Tails."
Gasp! What does Dakota Fanning's mother think of her daughter's new pink hair? (And, come to think of it, what did Dakota Fanning's mother think of her daughter's love scene with Kristen Stewart in "The Runaways?")
Would you like your car to smell just like Ryan Gosling? BestWeekEver.tv sniffs out the "Drive" air freshener that's a must-have for any serious Driver.

That's two episodes in a row of just fine, fine work for "Chuck." Co-creator Chris Fedak had promised an "epic" Sarah-centric episode with "Chuck vs. the Baby," and we got pretty close to that descriptor.
A couple of plot holes prevented it from being quite as awesome as it might have been, but Yvonne Strahovski anchored the show with a fantastic performance that was enough to paper over some of those nitpicks.
The baby Shaw mentioned at the end of "Chuck vs. the Santa Suit" turns out not to be related to Sarah in any way but was the "package" in an assignment led by her old handler, Kieran Ryker (a much-more-menacing-than-usual Tim DeKay). The child is the heir to a huge fortune, which Ryker intends to keep for himself, but Sarah upends those plans, shoots Ryker in the shoulder and delivers the child to her mom, whom the CIA...

To celebrate the availability of Blitz and Blood Out on DVD and Blu-ray, we sent Luke off to Milton Keynes to do some undercover cop training…
Jason Statham is hard. Like, proper hard. We know this because he plays characters who can kill assailants with just a look. Sometimes, with just the insinuation of a look. It's subtle stuff.
But how does a man become that which other men fear? Where can a mere mortal transform himself into something greater than those around him? These are the questions that drive us all. And there is one above all else: how does one become like the Stath?
The answer, obviously, is to go to Milton Keynes. Because it is here that Spy Games is based, an events company that lets anyone learn how to shoot weapons in a field and feel good about it. And it is here that I have been sent,...

Jessica Chastain continues her breakout summer playing a Mossad agent in search of a Nazi war criminal. Spy games are often the domain of men named Bourne and Bond but The Debt director John Madden places the spotlight on a troubled female Mossad agent named Rachel Singer (played by Helen Mirren and Jessica Chastain at different times in the character’s life) and she’s as fascinating and tough as any male spy. Madden and screenwriters Matthew Vaughn, Jane Goldman and Peter Straughan distinguish The Debt from other espionage thrillers by adding a strong moral element to its story, what one might call a “woman’s touch,” and the results are tense and dramatically rich. Sure, there’s plenty of action and brutal hand-to-hand combat in The Debt. There’s also something extra, themes involving guilt and false heroism that make The Debt better than many other espionage adventures...

The 80's Had Awesome Cover Art
Spy games were apparently very popular in the, graphically challenged, early days of the game industry. The arcade game Spy Hunter, was a 1983 racing game that proved popular amongst fans as it was later released on the vast array of consoles at the time; Amstrad Cpc, Zx Spectrum, Commodore 64, Nintendo Entertainment System and the BBC Micro to name a few. It has also been celebrated with various re-releases on more modern consoles and mobile phones as well as appearing in Microsoft Excel 2000 as an Easter egg.

Disney has tapped New Yorker writer/genius Malcolm Gladwell to inject some uh, actual legitimate intelligence into a drama script in development called Hexum. Written by David Arata, who penned Children Of Men and Spy Games, Hexum follows:

By connecting a series of seemingly random occurrences, he uncovers a sinister adversary planning an imminent global threat. And of course, his biggest challenge is to get anybody to believe him. It's the last week of summer, so how is Hollywood celebrating? By releasing a home video slate of some of the most under-appreciated films of the year. From bickering spies to reluctant amusement park workers, August 25th brings together indie darlings and big-budget gems, and we're breaking it all down in today's DVD Report.
Let's kick it off with one of my favorite films of the year, Tony Gilroy's "Duplicity." The director's sophomore follow-up to "Michael Clayton," the Julia Roberts-Clive Owen spy yarn brings together two of the brightest and most expressive voices working today for a crafty globe-trotting adventure. Filled with twists and turns and superb acting, "Duplicity" wasn't exactly a smash hit at the cineplex, but it's more than worth your time. Sadly, if there's one thing worth griping about here, it's the rather lackluster bonus features...or should we say bonus feature. Both the...

- It’s funny how the movie industry works. One minute you can’t pay someone to hire you for a project, the next you can’t stop the offers from rolling in. Such is the reality of a hit-driven industry where “what have you done for me lately” isn’t just a saying but a credo. There’s no better example than that of Paul Verhoeven. The filmmaker went from arthouse acclaim for his lurid Dutch productions (Turkish Delight, Soldier of Orange) and brainy Hollywood blockbusters (Robocop, Basic Instinct), to career suicide with the reviled Showgirls, and back again with the universally acclaimed WW2 epic Black Book. An industry outcast for six years following Hollow Man, he’s now the Dutch Scorsese attaching himself to projects like he's trying to make up for lost time. The director is adding yet another to the pile with The Forgotten Soldier, based
