MTV is rebooting “Aeon Flux.”
A live-action version of the ’90s animated series that ran on the Viacom-owned cable network is currently in development, a person with knowledge of the production tells TheWrap.
The TV reboot will be written and executive produced by “Teen Wolf” showrunner Jeff Davis. “The Walking Dead”s Gale Anne Hurd — who produced the 2005 feature film version of the story, starring Charlize Theron and Frances McDormand — will also executive produce.
“Aeon Flux” is set in a future dystopian state and revolves around a young assassin who teams with a group of biohacking rebels to save humanity as she becomes the titular hero known as Aeon Flux.

Blind Vaysha – Canada – 8 minutes
I did a double take upon hearing Theodore Ushev‘s name alongside his animated short Blind Vaysha during the Oscar nominations because I’ve watched his work progress the past five years. This Canadian by way of Bulgaria is a Toronto International Film Festival staple, a guy who alters his aesthetic with every new project. Whether rotoscoping, hybridizing Cubism and Constructivism, or dabbling in Abstract Expressionism, though, you always know it’s an Ushev film because of its content and craftsmanship. His latest is no different, the adoption of woodcutting lending an old school storybook feel to a tale that speaks towards today’s climate of hope and despair. Narrated by Caroline Dhavernas, Vaysha’s story begs us to open our eyes and see...

Even though Halloween will soon be behind us, that doesn’t mean November is without a few terror-filled tricks up its sleeve, particularly when it comes to genre films arriving on VOD throughout the month. Things kick off in grand style with the release of the creature feature Lavalantula courtesy of Alchemy, as well as the latest anthology, Mexico Barbaro, featuring eight Mexican directors coming together to give us their unique takes on various folklore and traditions.
Other films hitting VOD in November include The Hallow, Wrecker, Condemned, Deep Dark, Uncanny, Crumbs, Applesauce and the social media inspired thriller, #Horror.
Lavalantula (Alchemy) - November 3rd
After a dormant volcano erupts miles outside of Los Angeles, something within the molten hot lava is awakened. Birthed from the bowels of the Earth itself, arachnid-like creatures with an obsidian-black exoskeleton swarm out. One man, Colton West, a washed-up, former A-list action star, suddenly...

There is no shortage of strange things that can go one in your home. Last year we had Don Thacker's Motivational Growth and The Mould. This year we have Michael Midaglia's Deep Dark and a talking hole. We have a trailer and a new poster to share with you. But this is no ordinary talking hole. This one is voiced by Denise Poirier who did the voice of Æon Flux for the cult MTV series. Deep Dark is about "a failed sculptor finds a strange, talking hole in the wall. The hole has the power to fulfill his wildest dreams, or it just might become his worst nightmare."Denise says of the project, "I've always loved voice work, and working on the Deep Dark was especially challenging, but also...

Vitamin M and Polluted Pictures are proud to premiere the teaser trailer for their feature film production Deep Dark, which features the voice of Denise Poirier (who voiced Æon Flux from the television show of the same name) as the voice of the “The Hole.”
Denise says of the project, which is written and directed by Michael Medaglia, "I've always loved voice work, and working on the Deep Dark was especially challenging but also incredibly fun. Much critical acclaim has been heaped on Ben Affleck’s work as director, both for “Gone Baby Gone” and “The Town”. Warner Bros are keen to keep him “in house”, so to speak and he has been wooed with all manner of attractive projects in recent months.
Added to his list of options, we now have “American Bulls**t”, a script by Eric Warren Singer (The International, TV’s Æon Flux) all about an FBI undercover sting operation in 1980, intended to uncover and expose corruption in the Us Congress. This is not a WB project however, being produced instead at Sony by Charles Roven (Three Kings, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins) in conjunction with Atlas Entertainment.
Needless to say, Affleck is yet to make up his mind and may yet accept the offer from WB of either Replay or The Trade. Perhaps it will be a question of which potential...
