On Kimble's second day of teaching, he is wearing a red shirt. When he picks up the little boy who is eating the lunches, he is wearing the outfit that he wore on the first day. After that, he is wearing the red shirt again.
When Kimble tells all of the Kindergarteners to find a toy and bring it to the carpet, one boy gets his and sits on the carpet. In the next shot, we see him at the toy box getting a toy and sitting on the carpet again.
When Kimble introduces Phoebe, where she will talk about strangers, as he is talking the camera changes to the children. However in this shot you can see Kimble sitting on the piano bench, then it changes camera again to show him standing in front of them talking.
When Detective Kimble drives up to the motel in the rain, the passenger's window is lowered for the camera. After parking seconds later, the window is rolled up.
After the class practices their Gettysburg Address recital in the gymnasium, Kimble is walking them back into the classroom as Zach is being rushed into school by his mother. She apologizes for him being late, claiming the car wouldn't start. But Zach could clearly be seen standing with his classmates during the practice recital earlier in the gym.
As often happens in Hollywood productions, when one fire sprinkler was set off, the others were also. This is not how most fire sprinkler systems work.
To minimize water damage to property, individual fire sprinkler heads are set off by extreme heat or flame, extinguishing the fire on scene.
Running sprinklers in unaffected rooms and halls, would cause excessive damage and reduce water pressure for the important areas, and for any firefighters.

The children of Kimble's class misquote the Gettysburg Address as OUR FOREFATHERS; the correct line is OUR FATHERS.
John Kimble, a police officer in California, owns a ferret. Ferrets are against the law to own in California.
During evacuations and evacuation drills, teachers must take their grade-books/class lists so attendance can be taken, but the teachers in the movie come out empty-handed.
The fire sprinklers at the end of the film look like they're made from PVC pipe. Some plastic pipes are rated for sprinkler systems, but in a building that old they would be steel.
"John Kimble" is an odd name for an Austrian immigrant, which the character is and discusses at length. Kimble is a Scots or Welsh name, a variant of Campbell. It can be assumed that the name was Americanized upon immigration.
Kimble flies into Portland Oregon and then spends several hours driving to Astoria Oregon which is not more than a 2 hour drive. The frequent stops from Phoebe's illness is slowing them down.
From the beginning, it is established that Joyce=Rachel is so totally terrified of Crisp that all that she wants is to hide from him as much as possible. However, instead of doing the prudent thing, which would be to settle as far away from California as humanly possible, she is content with settling in Oregon, which is right next door to California. Astoria is actually quite some distance from Los Angeles. Driving from one place to another would take 16.5 hours.
She likely went as far the limited money and personal connections she had would take her. If she had actually taken the $3 million (equivalent to almost $7 million in 2023) Crisp had told everyone, she could have definitely gone to the other side of the country, or to another one entirely.

When Kimble went to arrest Crisp he had his gun pointed at him but then the mall security guards tell Kimble to drop his gun, when the first ones came in Kimble looked at them with his gun still pointed at Crisp and because of him looking away Crisp would've easily disarmed him. This is not something a professional police officer would do. However considering that Kimble doesn't always play by the books, he would be likely to do that. Furthermore, given the circumstances Crisp is under, he does not want to be arrested or seen as dangerous, he would likely cooperate with the police. It would be unwise to disarm a cop if several others have guns pointed in your direction.
When Arnold lifts Penelope up at the end of the movie, Sylvester (played by Ben Diskin) totally tries to look up her skirt! It's on Youtube.
The rear-view mirror of the Chrysler has been removed.
When Cullen Crisp sets fire to the library, after he sprayed liquid on the bookshelf and right before he sets it alight. A book gets pushed out from the shelf. Right side, third level.
Crisp and his mother are in their car after finding Dominic/Cullen Jr. Crisp is smoking what is clearly a cigarette, yet his mother says "Put that cigar out, it's unhealthy for the kid."
The whole "discipline"/bonding with the kids segment goes on way too long. It's obviously intended to pad out the movie's run time.
The ferret makes a high-pitched squeaking noise repeatedly. Though ferrets can make a wide range of noises, this is a noise that real ferrets do not make, though it is a common noise for "Hollywood ferrets" to do so.
Reflected in Mrs. Sullivan's car door.
As the door is opened by Miss Schlowski for Kimble to be introduced to the children, a crew member's hand is clearly seen holding the door open. The door also stays open despite obviously having a closing mechanism.
When Crisp Sr. kidnapped Dominic and says that he is a fireman, the shadow from a panning camera is visible.
In the beginning, when Danny is telling Crisp where he found his wife and kid, he says "It snows in the winter". However, being an Oregon coastal town, Astoria doesn't get snow outside of a freak cold streak. It rains much more than the average, non-coastal town, but, it doesn't get cold enough for that rain to turn into a "snowy winter". On average, it only gets up to 1 inch of snow year round (again, usually from freak storms).
During the scenes where Crisp is clutching onto Dominic, he doesn't seem to feel the ferret (which could've been injured based on how tight Dominic was being held). Furthermore, this should've aggravated the ferret and attacked Crisp a lot sooner than it did.
When Crisp and his mother arrive in Portland, you can see the microphone appear a couple of times in the windshield of their car.
When meeting the mother of the boy whose father has abused him, Kimble lets her go, saying only that the next time he sees injuries, he will press charges. First of all, teachers do not directly press charges, they report abuse to Child Protective Services. Secondly, teachers are mandatory reporters, and if Kimble had been a certified teacher, he would be at risk of having his license suspended or revoked for not reporting that abuse the first time.
Early in the film, John Kimble parks near a cinema showing The Lost Boys (1987) (listed on the marquee as Los Muchachos Perdidos). One of the stars is listed as Jami Gerts instead of Jami Gertz.
