The pilot episode of this series opened with the graphics "St. Peter's Office -- July 29, 2011". A newly dead Moamar Gaddafi materializes in the judgment chair. The writers' prediction was off by only 83 days.
Originally called "Second Chance", the show was revamped after nine episodes due to low ratings. The creators dramatically altered the premise, removing the supernatural aspects and several main characters. The show lasted another 12 episodes and was shuffled around the Saturday evening schedule before being canceled at the end of the season.
Barry Manilow was mentioned in episode 1; he was a very popular singer and songwriter in the 60s, 70s, and 80s despite critics calling him "middle-of-the-road." "Mandy" (1974) was his first hit single of many.
