Shown well over a 100 times on a BBC TV channel in the afternoons between 1963 - 1973. This was the most loved of a collection of films known as 'Trade Test Transmissions' that were to show the public and engineers (to get to grips with) the wonders of colour television.
Caroline Mortimer's debut.
The car that Arthur rebuilt was a blue 1923 Morris Oxford, registration XO 3871. Its real-life owner also supplied the chassis that Arthur brought home on a handcart from the scrapyard, although this was from a different car, a 1916 Perry, because he did not want to dismantle the Morris for filming.
This film has no spoken dialogue.
Sandra Leo's debut.
