Toward the film's end, Dirk Bogarde and two others are captured by the Japanese. The Japanese officer questions them in the first scene with Bogarde standing on the viewer's right. After their Indian driver runs away and is shot, the next scene moves back to the two British officers, and Bogarde is now seen standing on the left.
When Quinn is being hung by his wrists as a punishment by the Japanese, the position of Fenwick, lying on ground level near him, changes between shots.
When Quinn breaks his handcuffs with a rock (c. 97 minutes), his wrists are not bleeding and his right wrist shows no serious sign of injury; yet in the next shot he is bandaging both his wrists, now bleeding, with the torn strips from his shirt.
At the end of the film, Sabby's bedside table is first shown with a bowl of fruit on top. At the end of the scene there is a vase with flowers, some drooping, in its place - as well as the wedding ring.
