The only film in the Bowery Boys series where Gabe is part of the gang and not a former member or protagonist.
Slip tells Selena that Louie's Sweet Shop is located at Third and Canal. There is no such street intersection, however the 3rd Avenue El continued south on Bowery with a stop at Canal Street.. So, supposedly the shop would be at the intersection of Bowery and Canal Street. This may be the only time the location of the shop is mentioned in the series.
The pinball machine in Louie's Malt Shop was a 1941 Genco "Sluggers" pinball machine.
Slip fantasizes about a tropical paradise with a "sleepy lagoon." This was an ironic reference to the notorious "Sleepy Lagoon" murder and subsequent riots that had occurred in Los Angeles a few years earlier (and were later dramatized in the musical "Zoot Suit").
The photo 'Slip' Mahoney shows Dr. Armand of his aunt is actually a portrait of comic actress Renie Riano. Riano appeared with The Bowery Boys in Clipped Wings (1953).
