- American sailor Allan Carroll, an American sailor, is shipwrecked of the coast of Japan in the 19th century. He makes it to shore and is rescued by kind Yori. The local ruler, Prince Iku, has ordered that all foreigners who are "trespassing" on Japanese soil should be killed. He hears about a foreign sailor who washed ashore and has been hidden by villagers, so he sends his sister Omi San to investigate. She finds Alan, and instead of turning him in to be executed, she falls in love with him. Prince Iku captures both Allan and Yori and intends to execute both of them. - The action takes place in Japan 50 years ago. Yori, a Japanese prince, picks up Allan Carroll, a shipwrecked American sailor, and hides him in his home, as it is a crime for foreigners, except the Dutch, to land on Nippon's shores. Iku, an enemy of Yori, is apprised of the presence of Carroll. He raids his enemy's palace, and makes prisoners of Carroll and Yori. Both are sentenced to die, but Carroll escapes after killing Iku. The action then jumps to the present day, and when Iku III, who comes to America to study its customs, learns that Allan Carroll III, is the man he wants, he seeks to avenge the death of his grandfather by taking Virginia Stanford, Carroll's fiancée, to Japan. Carroll follows. As a result of a fight between the American and the Japanese, Carroll kills Iku III, and returns to America with his sweetheart.—Moving Picture World synopsis
