Now both mature women, at the time of their first encounter Joanna Adams was a young minister and Kathryn Cartledge was a parishioner filled with self-loathing about her core identity. Decades later they explore together what went wrong in the first encounter, telling a story that is both heart wrenching and healing. The final segment, "Open Door," examines the wellbeing of a welcoming Presbyterian congregation and their members in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In interviews and in worship, members and leaders of the congregation express their insights and attitudes toward being a welcoming place for gay and lesbian Christians. In-between each segment, deeply respected theologians Homer Ashby (McCormick), Walter Brueggemann (Columbia) Beverly Roberts Gaventa (Princeton), and Shirley Guthrie Jr. (Columbia) connect the stories to scripture and faith.

- In 1981, the city of Anderson Completed the Demolition of the historically black commerce district locally referred to as Church Street. Constructed following the Civil War, the building were traditionally occupied by African-American businesses and became the location of choice for Blacks to do business away from the discrimination that was inherent in the South at the time. Unable to survive after integration allowed African-Americans to shop where they pleased, Church Street was transformed into a parking lot as part of a well intentioned plan to revitalize the downtown area. This documentary captures the stories of many of the surviving business owners and patrons while they reminisce about the pride, characters, events and social structure of their beloved Church Street.

That's why we do not go out and celebrate Halloween or "trick-or- treat" anymore. To reassure parents, the city's 450 convicted sex offenders are subject to a curfew over the weekend. Extraordinary patrols to check that the sex offenders stays indoors with entrance lights off. 65 people from the sex crimes registry also becomes locked up in the town hall at 17-21 during Halloween night.
