Composer ("Tuxedo Junction", "Jersey Bounce"), songwriter, singer, author and producer, educated at the American Academy of Television in Los Angeles. He was a singer, dancer and vocalist with several orchestras, and a soloist on radio. He wrote and co-produced the radio show "Rhythm School of the Air", then served in the 77th Infantry Division overseas during World War II, wrote for the Armed Forces Radio Service, and produced shows for servicemen (and was awarded a Bronze Star). Afterwards he wrote "Preview Theatre" for KFWB in California and "The Bill Harrington Show" for television, which he also produced. He also wrote special material for night club singers. Joining ASCAP in 1940, his chief musical collaborators included Erskine Hawkins, Bill Harrington, Harry Revel, Raymond Scott, Milton Berle, Peter Tinturin, and Al Sherman. His other popular-song compositions included "Why", "After Hours", "Oh to Be Young Again", "Blue Velvet Waltz", "Radar Blues", "Dolomite", "Willow in the Wind", "The Shadow Knows", "Love Had a Preview Last Night", "I'm So Happy I Could Cry", "Let My Heart Alone", "Joe's Notion", "Harlem Stomp", and "My Treasure".- Director
