He’s been the longest-running single actor to take on a comic book character, but this spring Hugh Jackman will finally be hanging up his Wolverine claws in his ninth and final outing: Logan. With James Mangold returning to direct, the full-length red band trailer has arrived, which shows Logan well past his prime as the blood reigns down. Set to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, we can expect the first reactions in a few weeks.
“Making an adult film, trying not to please everyone with one movie,” Mangold tells Fandango as what sets this apart from other superhero films. “Making a film that invests itself first in drama. Making a film where it isn’t about whether the villain will destroy the world. I am so over that. I do not want to go to every movie and wonder whether my world is going to exist. It’s just about the characters.

After 17 years, Hugh Jackman’s legacy as Wolverine is coming to an end in the upcoming R-rated film “Logan.” Reprising his role of the sulky X-Man for the ninth and final time, 20th Century Fox has released a new trailer ahead of its March release.
Set in the future, the film follows a weary Logan as he cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) in a hide out on the Mexican border. As Wolverine tries to hide from the world and his X-Man legacy, he meets a young mutant, Laura Kinney (Sienna Novikov), who is being pursued by dark forces.
“Logan” is directed by James Mangold and co-stars Boyd Holbrook, Doris Morgado and Richard E. Grant.

Snikt! Wolverine unleashes his devastating claws in brutal fashion in the red band trailer for James Mangold’s Logan.
It’s the second of two teaser trailers to release today – see the Sfw cut here – though this latest, R-rated snippet slices in one extra, stomach-churning scene. Presumably fending off a wave of goons to safeguard Sienna Novikov’s X-23 (Aka Laura Kinney), towards the end of the trailer we see Hugh Jackman’s jaded mutant executing the mercenary by jamming those shimmering claws into the underside of his jaw.
It’s not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure, but it does hint at the ways in which Mangold plans to tap into the darker tenets of the Wolverine character, which ought to neatly align with the film’s bleak tone. Desperate times, desperate measures.

Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine in an older, grizzlier form for Logan. We looked at the trailer in detail...
Having endured what felt like an age of promo pictures and vague teases, it’s a big relief to say we’ve finally got a decent glimpse at Logan, the third solo Wolverine film starring Hugh Jackman. And, dare we say it, it looks pretty great.

After directing The Wolverine (which we can all agree is better than Gavin Hood’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine), James Mangold has returned to the fold to helm what everyone is referring to as Mr Jackman’s final appearance as the cigar-chomping, bub-saying and claw-sporting mutant hero Wolverine.

After appearing in all eight X-Men films thus far, Hugh Jackman will finally be hanging up his Wolverine claws in his ninth and final outing: Logan. While it was difficult to muster up much praise for Bryan Singer’s garish last ensemble feature, James Mangold delivered a better-than-expected solo effort with The Wolverine and now he’s returned to help send off Jackman.
Ahead of a release this March, 20th Century Fox have now released the first trailer, which finds the story picking up one year after X-Men: Days of Future Past and Logan well past his prime. However, it’s time for one… last… job for the superhero. Also starring Sienna Novikov, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, and Patrick Stewart, check out the trailer and poster below.

To prep you for the arrival of tomorrow’s hotly-anticipated trailer, Hugh Jackman has taken to Twitter to share the very first snippet from Logan. It features his aging Wolverine casting a lone shadow in the countryside. It also begs the question, will the entirety of James Mangold’s R-rated actioner be presented in black-and-white?
Unlikely, of course, but there’s no question that the director’s 2017 threequel has turned heads and raised eyebrows with its striking, monotone aesthetic. That’s a melancholic style that has featured prominently throughout the many, many images that have found their way online, teasing everything from Stephen Merchant’s Caliban to the downfall of the mutant population as we know it.

We've seen him in set photos, but Logan director James Mangold has now released a first look at a very battered Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the movie. Rumours point to the hero's healing factor being on the blink when we meet up with him here, so that could explain why he's looking a little rougher than usual. Either way, he's definitely closer to Old Man Logan than in the X-Men movies! Meanwhile, Trailer Track points out that the Indian Twitter account for 20th Century Fox has confirmed that the first Logan teaser trailer will be released online tomorrow. It should be very interesting to see what it reveals after weeks of mysterious teases and photographs like the one below, but if anything has now become clear, it's that this will definitely be a Wolverine movie unlike any we've see before. Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Sienna Novikov, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant,...

The deluge of monotone photos for Logan continues today, only this time, the latest teaser to surface from James Mangold’s X-Men sequel asks a very pressing question.
Since 20th Century Fox unveiled Logan to be the threequel’s official title – along with a wonderfully minimalist poster – the film’s Instagram account has transformed into a hive of activity, rolling out one black-and-white photo after another to establish the tone and setting of the film formerly known as The Wolverine 3.
Fuelling rumors that the 2017 actioner takes place in the year 2024, this latest pic to arrive showcases what looks to be a grungy bathroom stall, where the question “where are all the mutants?” is scrawled onto a metal door.

Even if you’re only a passing fan of Fox’s lucrative X-Men franchise, you’ll no doubt admit that it has been a whirlwind week for the Mutant universe.
Logan, the R-rated sequel formerly known as The Wolverine 3, was officially titled last week, at which point director James Mangold assured budding fans that the 2017 release won’t be a “city-block destroying CG f**kathon.” Those strong words were accompanied by the moody first teaser poster for Mangold’s follow-up, which featured Wolverine’s iconic hand – adamantium claws and all – reaching down to grasp the hand of a young girl. According to TheWrap, we now know the identity of its owner.
Citing sources close to production, the outlet reports that Sienna Novikov has been cast as Laura (Aka X-23), a young Mutant that boasts the same regenerative healing factor, superhuman strength, senses, speed and reflexes that Hugh Jackman’s iconic character is famed for.

We've learned a lot about Logan since the film received its official title a few days ago. We've seen a page of the script, some images teasing the R-rating, a picture of an old-ass Professor X, a couple of plot details, and which villain he'll be going up against. Now The Wrap is here with some more information about some of the film's characters.
The outlet's sources tell them that the young girl seen in the teaser poster is named "Laura," and she'll be — as we all suspected and has been reported for months — the young mutant X-23. The new news is that she's reportedly being played by Sienna Novikov in her first big role.
The second piece of info they share is that Richard E. Grant's mad scientist character is the head of Transigen (the company turning mutant kids into killers) and his character is named Dr. Zander Rice.

We have some interesting updates on several of the characters set to appear in James Mangold's Logan, including confirmation that X-23 will make her big screen debut, and the actress that'll play her. First reported by Omega Underground (later by The Wrap), Sienna Novikov (Bad Moms, Daddy's Home) will apparently bring life to Laura Kinney, who will emerge from the "Transigen" procedure as the two-clawed killing-machine, X-23. There's also new information on the man who will head up this programme. According to The Wrap's sources Richard E. Grant's "mad scientist" type is actually Dr. Zander Rice, and not Mr. Sinister as previously speculated. In fact, it doesn't sound like the evil mutant geneticist is going to feature in the movie at all. Boyd Holbrook - who was revealed to be playing Donald Pierce earlier today - is said to be Zander's head of security at Transigen. Mangold has...
