Andreas Popp(I)
Andreas Popp is a German entrepreneur, author and lecturer on macroeconomics. He is a member of the scientific board of Wissensmanufaktur (Institute for Economic Research and Social Policy).
With lectures, books, essays and TV appearances he addresses financial crisis, monetary system and economy. He is known for his criticism of the media and politics, which he sees as subordinate to the monetary system. Popp began his career in 1983 in risk management at a corporate subsidiary of London-based Guardian Royal Exchange Ltd. in Hamburg. From 1984, he was responsible for the corporate organization of Popp GmbH and became Chairman of the Board of Popp AG in 2000. He transformed the company founded by his father in 1959 into a prosperous group of companies. In January 2007, he retired as Chairman of the Board to devote himself to scientific work within the Wissensmanufaktur [Knowledge Factory].
