Step aside, Sansa Stark, there’s a new Queen of the North. With Jimbo’s screams still echoing throughout the workroom, Thursday’s season finale of Canada’s Drag Race (now streaming on Wow Presents Plus) crowned the world’s first-ever Canadian Drag Superstar.
In keeping with tradition, the three remaining queens — Priyanka, Rita Baga and Scarlett BoBo — were tasked with recording and performing their own verses to a RuPaul smash, “You Wear It Well.” From Priyanka’s confidence and attitude to Rita’s vocals and overall runway presence, the queens were firing on all cylinders.

In last week’s seventh episode, the six remaining queens took part in the first ever Rpdr pageant, “Miss Loose Jaw.” Though no one was officially crowned queen of the pageant itself, Lemon did come out on top overall for the week, making her the second multiple-week winner after Rita Baga (who has three wins). At the bottom was Priyanka and Ilona Verley who battled it out in the lip sync. Once again Priyanka proved that she’s a lip sync assassin and knocked Ilona out of the competition. In last week’s sixth episode, the seven remaining queens divided into three groups for an acting challenge where they spoofed late night law firm commercials. In the end, Rita Baga earned her third overall win, making her a clear frontrunner as the field of queens narrowed. In the bottom two were Ilona Verley and Boa, and after a rather reserved lip sync Ilona squeaked out another win, securing her safety and eliminating Boa in the process.

In last week’s fifth episode, the eight remaining queens earned their drag stripes in the legendary “Snatch Game” challenge. After two previous high placements, Jimbo finally earned herself a maxi challenge win with her portrayal of Joan Rivers in the game and with a stunning runway look in the “Night of a Thousand Celines” category. Stumbling with their character depictions were Priyanka as Miss Cleo and Kiara as Mariah Carey, the latter of which lost to Priyanka in a fiercely fought best-of-all-time lip sync battle.

In last week’s fourth episode, the nine remaining queens split into three fashion houses to create a 3-look collection of looks using recyclable materials. Rita Baga became the first two-time challenge winner, leading her group to victory with their made-from-plastic creations. On the losing side was Team Paper, with Tynomi Banks and Ilona Verley declared the bottom two of the week. Despite Ilona’s dramatic overreaction and not wanting to go head-to-head against her friend, Tynomi’s third straight trip to the lip sync was one too many and the judges had no choice but to send her home.

In the third episode, the queens spiced things up as dueling pop music girl groups featuring shady rap battle lyrics in “Not Sorry Aboot It.” Priyanka nabbed her first overall win while Tynomi Banks fell into the bottom two for the second straight week. Luckily she was able to pull off another win in the lip sync for your life, but that meant that her opponent Anastarzia Anaquway went home instead.

Drag Race has arrived in the North! In the words of RuPaul, "It's aboot time, eh?!"
Twelve queens from across Canada entered the Werk Room on Canada's Drag Race Season 1 Episode 1 to compete for the title of Canada's Next Drag Superstar.
Just like the mothership show from the States (RuPaul's Drag Race), the queens will face off in challenges, wear stunning looks on the runway, and showcase their drag skills. And, they'll lipsync for their lives to avoid sashaying away.
The series premiere was a jam-packed episode of new faces, old rules with some new changes, and the format we love so much.
Plus, all the Canadian puns that will melt your heart! (So. Many. Puns.)
If you missed "Eh-Leganza Eh-xtravaganza", we're here to get you caught up. So, put down the poutine and snuggle up in your red plaid hoodie, this is your crash course of Canada's Drag Race Season 1 premiere.
