Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon was supposed to be heading into production on Scream 7 soon – but that project has turned out to be so troubled, he had to activate his ejector seat and get out of there. While he has since been replaced on Scream 7 by Kevin Williamson, he has been busy lining up other genre projects, signing on to direct the werewolf thriller Big Bad and the “fast-paced thriller” Drop. Coming our way from Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, the production company team that has previously brought us the Purge franchise, Drop is moving forward first, and we’ve previously heard that it’s set to star Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus season 2), Violett Beane (The Flash), Brandon Sklenar (1923), and newcomer Jacob Robinson, who has a large following on his parent-run Tik Tok account. Now Deadline reports that Jeffery Self of Search Party and The...

It’s a chilly Sunday night in Manhattan’s West Village and somehow the hottest ticket in town involves a sexually repressed Abraham Lincoln, hoop skirts, and comedian Cole Escola in a wildly convincing nineteenth-century wig.
There’s a line down the block outside the Lucille Lortel Theatre, and inside, the energy builds as patrons make their way through packed halls and walkways to their seats. Queer isn’t just a vibe here, it’s built into the streets — just three blocks from the Stonewall Inn — etched into the gold stars on the sidewalk,...

Mel Gibson was definitely up for anything during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday.
The 61-year-old actor and director gamely cut a random passersby's hair named William outside the studio on Hollywood Boulevard as part of a hilarious segment, but Gibson shocked even the host himself when he later allowed William to shave off his impressive beard in return.
"I've had it for quite a long time, it's a part of my identity, but ..." Gibson said.

Metallica unleashed an ear-splitting performance of their new song "Atlas, Rise!" on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday.
The metal heroes took over Kimmel's large outdoor stage and tore through the Hardwired… to Self-Destruct track, an epic ripper that reaches a classic Metallica apex with a James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett dueling guitar showdown.
Metallica also dusted off a fan favorite for the Kimmel crowd, stomping through a bombastic rendition of Ride the Lighting's "For Whom the Bell Tolls." Hetfield and Hammett once again traded spitfire licks while drummer Lars Ulrich...

Eric "The Actor" Lynch, Howard Stern's diminutive foil with the giant personality, died Saturday, his manager confirmed on Twitter Sunday. He was 39. Lynch, who was less than 3½ feet tall and was a resident of Sacramento, California, died in an area hospital after suffering heart problems, TMZ first reported. The wheelchair-bound Lynch earned a position in Howard Stern's "Wack Pack" after he began calling in to the shock jock's radio show in 2002 and delighting listeners - and the hosts - with his blunt, endearingly argumentative style. Stern paid homage to Lynch on his SiriusXM show Monday. "What was so...
