When we first heard about Fear the Invisible Man last year, the project was seeking a distributor. Now 101 Films has given the film a digital, VOD, and DVD release, and you can check it out at This Link! To help you decide whether or not Fear the Invisible Man is a movie you would like to see, we have embedded the film’s trailer at the top of this article.
Directed by Paul Dudbridge from a script written by Philip Daay and based on a concept from Monika Gergelova, Fear the Invisible Man is described as being a “period action thriller”. First things first, Fear the Invisible Man is not a sequel to the 2020 version of The Invisible Man although I’m sure the film’s makers won’t mind if you think so. Instead, it’s an adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel that, unlike most adaptations of his work, keeps the book’s Victorian setting.
Griffin is in a race against time to finish his experiments. The reason, his landlord and a bailiff are pounding on the door, ready to evict him. Injecting himself with it moments before they kick in the door, his flesh and bone vanish and he escapes, though not before causing an explosion that kills them and destroys his lab.
Elsewhere Adeline is disbelievingly reading about a series of crimes supposedly caused by an invisible man.

This one looks like a polished indie production, playing out closer to the original Universal Monsters classic than Leigh Whannell’s updated reimagining. Some of the digital effects work is a bit rough, but otherwise this one looks to be well worth our time.

As part of our support for the launch of Tom Paton’s new film The Ascent on VOD, here’s an interview with actor and regular Tom Paton collaborator Toby Osmond, who appears in the film as Jack Ford.
The Ascent follows a group of mercenaries, who are sent to Eastern Europe in the middle of a civil war to retrieve intel. Shortly after the mission, the unit find themselves trapped on a never-ending stairwell; forced to climb or die. To survive, they must revisit their past sins if they ever want to get off.
The Ascent reminded me of Michael Mann’s The Keep, which was sort of his lost film…
To: I’ve heard people say that The Ascent reminds them of a cross between Ringu and Time…something, I get the Ringu reference because of the monster in our film, but I’ve not seen The Keep.

Rising star Mike Beckingham will star in “Waltzing With Brando” alongside Billy Zane, who plays a “Godfather”-era Marlon Brando in the upcoming movie.
Beckingham, younger brother of actor, writer and producer Simon Pegg, will play Bernard Judge in the comedic feature, which is set in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Judge was an idealistic L.A. architect selected by Brando and tasked with building the world’s first ecologically perfect retreat on a tiny Tahitian island that had been thought uninhabitable.
The picture is based upon Judge’s memoir, which recounts his relationship with Brando and his work with the enigmatic star on the designs for the would-be island getaway.

"Beware - even those who look innocent can be dangerous." Vertical Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for an indie crime mystery thriller titled The Host, the feature directorial debut of TV director Andy Newbery. There have been at least two other major films with the name The Host, including Bong Joon-ho's monster movie, and also the sci-fi flick from Andrew Niccol. Can we stop using this especially bland title, please? Newbery's The Host is about a London banker who risks everything taking on a job carrying a briefcase to Amsterdam. "But all is not as it seems in a city veiled by dark secrets. Fuelled by power players, drugs, seduction and violence Robert awaits his turn in a deadly game of choice and consequence." Starring Maryam Hassouni, Mike Beckingham, Dougie Poynter, Nigel Barber, & Suan-Li Ong. Watch out. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Andy Newbery's The Host, direct...

Redwood gets its UK TV premiere on Friday 8th February, courtesy of Horror Channel. Excited or what?
Honestly, I’m so proud that Redwood has made its way onto Horror Channel. I’ve been a huge fan since the channel launched and over the past decade I’ve discovered so many horror gems on there from classic through to films I’d never heard of but now love. One of this year’s Frightfest World Premieres, Black Site had people excited with only its description promising John Carpenter-esque action… Which is all I needed to hear to give it a watch. In truth, despite despite this playing at Frighfest, it’s not really a horror movie. The sci-fi elements more than make it worthy of being shown at one of the World’s leading genre festivals though.
The sci-fi here feels very Lovecraftian, involving elder gods that are living on Earth being captured and held at the Artemis Black Site until they are not needed any more and are sent back from where they originally came. It all feels very much...

We at 365Flicks and Nerdly have been championing Tom Paton since I had the pleasure of being sent Pandorica and asked to give it a review. I have told the story on the podcast a couple of times but upon really getting a kick out of the movie and writing up a nice little article, well Tom got to read it and reached out to me over Twitter. I asked him to come on the show to talk Pandorica, he teased us about his second flick Redwood, which we got to see at Sfw in Wales (sort of a soft screening). We gushed over that and after numerous conversations the guys invited us to spend the day on the set of Black Site. We had an amazing day and...

Black Site. It protects us from their gods. But who will protect us from their followers? So here is something to potentially keep an eye on. Production has begun in the UK on a supernatural action film called Black Site, directed by Tom Paton and starring Simon Pegg’s brother Mike Beckingham. Off the hop Black Site sets expectations high by describing itself as “Hp Lovecraft meets The Raid”. From the description below sounds like they are aiming for the setting and climax of Cabin in the Woods extended to feature length with the partnership dynamic of Dredd. Any way you put it if it works this could be a fun ride. We will be keeping an eye out for this one. Black Site has...

Stars: Luke D’Silva, Jade Hobday, Marc Zammit, Adam Bond, Bentley Kalu, Amed Hashimi, Laura Marie Howard, Adam Ford, Macaulay Callard | Written and Directed by Tom Paton
I had no real expectations going into Pandorica and I came out of it very pleasantly surprised by Tom Paton’s genre busting futuristic dystopian, sci-fi horror, suspense, action-filled tale of what happens when humanity is devolved into its most basic instincts. Well I did say this film was genre busting! One of the best things about Pandorica is that you really can’t put it in any bracket (no matter how hard you try for the purpose a review).
Set somewhere in the future we meet a small group of Natives from the Varosha tribe. Tribe leader Nus (Luke D’Silva) has brought his three bravest and best to take part in a Violent trial to determine who should be leader of the Tribe when Nus expires.
