Lady Gaga has had three major acting roles. All have been anything but lighthearted material.
She first showed her dramatic chops as a vampire on “American Horror Story: Hotel” in 2015. Three years later, her big-screen debut in “A Star Is Born” earned her a best actress Oscar nomination for her work as Ally, a superstar singer married to a washed-up alcoholic musician (Bradley Cooper). Now, she’s back in the awards race in Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci” with her portrayal of Patrizia Gucci, who served 18 years in prison for plotting the murder of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver), heir to the Italian luxury fashion house.
Even Gaga thinks it may be time to switch things up. “I’d love to do a romantic comedy,” she tells me on this week’s episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast.

The U.S. firm will present the project to buyers at the upcoming European Film Market.
Run Hide Fight follows 17-year-old Zoe Hull (May) who uses her wits, survival skills, and compassion to fight for her life, and those of her fellow classmates, against a group of live-streaming school shooters.
Currently in post-production, the film also stars Eli Brown (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists), Olly Sholotan (All American), Cyrus Arnold (Zoolander 2), Britton Sear (Boy Erased), Catherine Davis (S.W.A.T.), Treat Williams (Deep Rising), and Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator).
The project’s subject matter is a highly sensitive one. The filmmakers discussed their rationale for making the film and its journey when we broke news about it late last year.

Lady Gaga celebrated the launch of her Haus Laboratories beauty line at Santa Monica's Barker Hangar on Monday night. The 33-year-old singer steamed up the event in not one, but three different black ensembles, giving us flashbacks to her Met Gala appearance from earlier this year. In fact, she was so "snatched" that she didn't know what to do.
