Exclusive: TV anchor Sage Steele has replaced Candace Owens in the voice cast of The Daily Wire’s upcoming animated sitcom Mr Birchum, following the latter’s recent exit from the right wing news platform.
The former ESPN anchor joins voice cast of Megyn Kelly, Brett Cooper, Adam Carolla (who created the show), Roseanne Barr, Danny Trejo, Rob Riggle, Patrick Warburton, Tyler Fischer, Alonzo Bodden, Kyle Dunnigan, and Jay Mohr.
Steele will play the role of Deena, who is married to Mr. Birchum’s best friend Gage. The role was previously due to be played by Owens who exited The Daily Wire last month. Her exit followed clashes with co-founder Ben Shapiro over the Israel-Hamas war.

The Republican Study Committee released a budget proposal that calls for raising the Social Security retirement age to 69 years old and slashing funding for Medicare.
The RSC is chaired by Rep. Kevin Hern (R-Oklahoma), and its members consist of Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) and three top leadership deputies. Johnson chaired this group from 2019 to 2021.
The proposals, unlikely to become law this year because of opposition from Democrats who control the Senate and White House, indicate how many Republicans will hope to govern if they win the 2024 elections.
They also play into an argument that President Joe Biden wants to use against Donald Trump and Republicans while running for reelection.
The budget was released by the RSC, a group of over 170 House GOP lawmakers, including many of Trump’s allies. The RSC proposal noted that Biden supported raising the age to 65 to 67, the current retirement age while he was a senator in the 1980s.

Lizzo sent the world of social media into a frenzy when she posted just days ago on her Instagram that she is quitting. Although the singer did not clarify what exactly was she quitting, fans and haters took it as her quitting music and the music industry for good following the many lawsuits lodged against her.
Lizzo (Image: 2 Be Loved music video)
As her post went viral, fans were disheartened while her haters rejoiced. Meanwhile, the lawyer representing the three dancers suing her went on to state that it was just another PR stunt by the Grammy winner. And proving him right is Lizzo’s recent statement explaining that she isn’t going anywhere.

Pop star Shakira is finally coming out with a new album after a long seven-year gap. The Hips Don’t Lie star is currently promoting her 16-track album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran or Women No Longer Cry. The artist reportedly intends for the album to be empowering, enabling women to rediscover their strengths and build bridges between people.
While Shakira sought to empower women with her new album, she reportedly had some strong opinions about last year’s Barbie. The pop star mentioned that her sons found the film to be ‘emasculating’ and that she agreed with the same. Fans slammed the singer for her statement on the movie as she joined a few more celebrities who bashed the film for similar reasons.

Shakira shared her belated Barbie take in a new interview with Allure, saying she agreed “to a certain extent” with her two sons, who found the movie “emasculating.”
The musician was asked about Greta Gerwig’s hit film during a discussion about women’s empowerment and her hope that her upcoming album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry) would “help women discover their own strengths.” While that’s arguably kind of the whole point of Barbie, Shakira said her sons “absolutely hated the movie,” adding, “They felt that it was emasculating.

Clearly, Hollywood is divided when it comes to the heart-wrenching events taking place in Israel and Palestine. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, celebrities’ stance on the tragedy is affecting both their fanbases and their work. Still, they continue to speak up about the atrocities and Jewish filmmaker Steven Spielberg has finally come out to directly address the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Steven Spielberg in an interview with BBC
Fans have been wondering for a long time why Steven Spielberg, who is so vocal about his Jewish roots, has been silent about Gaza and Israel. And now, the filmmaker has finally broken his silence and has publicly expressed where he stands on the whole situation.

Conservative firebrand Candace Owens has left the news outlet The Daily Wire after a war of words with the founder of the news brand, fellow far-right figure Ben Shapiro, which began shortly after the outset of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
Owens joined the partisan conservative news website, which gained traction during former President Donald Trump’s time in the White House, in 2020 and hosted a weekday commentary show for the brand, known for repackaging other news outlets’ reporting with a right-wing spin. The 34-year-old confirmed the news on Friday on X, the platform where most of the drama between the two conservative media figures played out.
“The rumors are true — I am finally free. If you would like to support my work, you can head to http://CandaceOwens.com where you will be directed to my locals page,” Owens tweeted, then solicited for funds on another personal website.

Candace Owens, the right-wing media figure, is no longer at The Daily Wire, her signature platform for nearly four years.
“Daily Wire and Candace Owens have ended their relationship,” Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing wrote on X/Twitter this morning.
Known for her culture warrior rhetoric, Owens has embraced conspiracy theories since the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7. This week, the Anti-Defamation League called out Owens for “vitriolic antisemitism.” Earlier this week, she “liked” a tweet that advanced an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that Jews were “drunk on Christian blood,” per Mediaite.
“My crime is having stood up for myself against your network of smears,” Owens wrote following the Adl criticism.
To much publicity, it was announced in November, 2020 that Owens would move to Nashville to join the platform’s team.

By now, the claims made by the Top G Andrew Tate that he is by far the most famous person on the internet might be true, although they are for all the wrong reasons. In late 2018, Gina Carano — a pioneering mixed martial arts champion who successfully transitioned to acting in Steven Soderbergh’s 2011 film Haywire — was blissfully staring up at the stars. They weren’t actual stars, but digital facsimiles projected onto a massive, domed screen — all part of a groundbreaking new effects technology from Industrial Light & Magic known as the Volume. Carano lived in Hermosa Beach at the time, just 15 minutes from Manhattan Beach Studios, where she was working on a top-secret sci-fi project, code name Project Huckleberry. But thanks to the Volume, she might as well have been 3 million light years away.

As Oscar night fades in the rearview, arguments over who got robbed and who had the nicest dress continue to recede. One story, however, continues to rage on — a backlash (and backlash to the backlash) to the acceptance speech given by Jonathan Glazer alongside producers James Wilson and Len Blavatnik when The Zone of Interest won for best international film. THR has learned that that, even though Glazer claimed to speak for all three of them, he had not run his comments by Blavatnik, according to a spokesperson for the billionaire.
Glazer, The Zone of Interest’s writer-director, said (and it’s important to get this right) that his Auschwitz-set movie “shows where dehumanization leads at its worst” and continued “right now we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people,...

At this year’s Oscars, “The Zone of Interest” director Jonathan Glazer took the prize for most polarizing speech. And the swirl surrounding exactly what he said and what he meant — still a matter of debate — doesn’t appear to be dying down.
When the British filmmaker took the stage after the Auschwitz-set Holocaust drama was announced as best international film, he was greeted with a standing ovation. He then referred to notes he’d prepared in advance, thanked the requisite players and drew a parallel between “Zone of Interest” and the current conflict in Gaza that was difficult to decipher given the audience applause and his own mumbling.
“All our choices were made to reflect and confront us in the present, not to say look what they did then, but rather look what we do now,” he said, according to the Academy’s official transcript of the speech. “Our...

With a plethora of films in multiple genres, Christopher Walken is one of the most prolific and renowned actors in the film industry. With a massive career that spans 55 years, Walken has surely stood above the rest and he continues to go strong as he is a part of the much-anticipated Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi franchise, Dune: Part Two which features big names like Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and many more.
Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV in Dune: Part Two
Christopher Walken portrays the role of Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV, who happens to be the main villain of the sequel. The casting of the veteran actor was kept under wraps by the executives of the film, and very little was shown about the character in the trailer. However, Ben Shapiro was not impressed by this fact as he brutally roasts the King of New York actor in his review.

On Monday, he kicked off his I <3 Jewish People tour with a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland, where he managed to evince a look of sober introspection for the photographers present (though the fact that he had his child perched on his shoulders as if they were watching the majorettes at a Memorial...

Months after losing a slew of advertisers after he publicly endorsed an antisemitic conspiracy theory, X owner Elon Musk continued his “I am not an antisemite” tour on Monday with a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp memorial.
During his private tour of the memorial, Musk laid a wreath and participated in a remembrance ceremony. “It hits you much more in the heart when you see it in person … it will take a few days to sink in, frankly,” Musk told right-wing Jewish podcaster Ben Shapiro during an interview following the visit,...

Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy is once again in the line of Twitter fire after a recent interview by director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on her upcoming “Star Wars” film. But Daily Wire cofounder Ben Shapiro’s attempt to chime in on the dunking has led to some sharp retorts.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Shapiro called Kennedy the “worst entertainment executive I’ve ever seen in my lifetime” in response to comments made by Obaid-Chinoy, an Oscar and Emmy-winning director who shot the Pakistan-set episodes of “Ms. Marvel” and who is attached to direct an upcoming “Star Wars” film that will see Daisy Ridley return as sequel trilogy protagonist Rey.
“I’m very thrilled about the project because I feel what we’re about to create is something very special,” Obaid-Chinoy told CNN. “We’re in 2024 now, and it’s about time that we had a woman come...

“Barbie” screenwriters Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach joined one another for a “60 Minutes” interview in which they were asked about the surprising “anti-man” backlash to their blockbuster comedy. Several conservative figures blasted “Barbie” after it opened in theaters over the summer for its patriarchy jokes, which they perceived as being anti-man. Bill Maher even went on record calling the film “man-hating.”
“The movie is meant to be a big-hearted thing, even though it’s poking fun at everyone,” Gerwig said when such accusations were brought up in the interview. “I planned this in my head. I’ll just say it. This is not man-hating anymore than Aristophanes’ ‘Lysistrata’ was man-hating. That doesn’t sound like a sick burn when you say it out loud like that. That will teach them!”

Exclusive: Conservative media outlet The Daily Wire has commissioned its first animated scripted series, Mr Birchum, created by comedian and radio host Adam Carolla.
The series follows Carolla’s junior high woodshop teacher popularized on Kroq radio and brought to life in puppet form on Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers.
In this animated update, according to producers, “Mr. Birchum attempts to navigate a world he doesn’t understand or approve of. He’s befuddled by his gaming streamer son, Eddie (Dunnigan), annoyed at his selfie-taking, snowflake students and is constantly at war with the school district’s appointed “J.E.D.I.” Mr. Karponzi (Fischer).”
The synopsis continues: “But his best buddy, auto-shop teacher Don Gage (Bodden), his wife Wendi (Kelly), and step-daughter Jeanie (Cooper) have his back, along with some fantasy mentors – the ghost of his gym teacher, Coach Murphy (Mohr) and childhood...

Conservative media outlet The Daily Wire, known for its right-wing political commentary, had a public dispute between two of its most prominent figures, Ben Shapiro and Candace Owens.
Shapiro, the site’s co-founder, and Owens, a host of one of its podcasts, have exchanged back-and-forth messages on the X platform, formally known as Twitter.
It started when Owens wrote of the Israel-Hamas War: “No government anywhere has a right to commit a genocide, ever. There is no justification for a genocide. I can’t believe this even needs to be said or is even considered the least bit controversial to state.”
Over the past couple of weeks, the Israeli government has been bombing the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians, many of whom are children after Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel killed 1200.
Although many praised her stance, others criticized her tweet and accused her of being antisemitic.

Tucker Carlson may no longer be Fox News’ frontman, but he’s by no means abandoned the racist, conspiratorial rhetoric that rocketed him to right-wing stardom. On Wednesday’s installment of Carlson’s self-produced X show, host injected his views on white genocide into a discussion of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war while interviewing The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens.
Early in the interview, Carlson and Owens had discussed her explosive, public spat with Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro over the war in Gaza, before discussing how it is also fueling tensions on college campuses.

The heart of the canon of Christmas horror movies is growing three sizes this year thanks to "It's a Wonderful Knife," the yuletide slasher from "Tragedy Girls" and "V/H/S/99" director Tyler MacIntyre and "Freaky" screenwriter Michael Kennedy. I've been working in this industry for quite some time, and MacIntyre and Kennedy are two people I've been privileged to get to know over the years. Both are responsible for two of my favorite horror films of the last decade, so seeing them join forces for a holiday horror flick has reignited my belief in Santa Claus, because he certainly got my letter. The new film tells the story of Winnie Carruthers (Jane Widdop), who, one year after becoming a final girl and saving the town of Angel Falls from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, wishes she was never born and wakes up in a parallel universe where she doesn't exist...

While conventional wisdom has long held that Republicans, and particularly evangelicals, are the staunchest allies of Israel in the U.S., the latest bloody exchanges between the state and Hamas militants have revealed fault lines in that critical base of support. Rather than close ranks to back Israeli attacks on Gaza, some right-wing influencers have turned on each other.
For instance, Islamophobic conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer and pro-Russia Maga influencer Jackson Hinkle, who mere weeks ago appeared to have a friendly relationship on X (formerly Twitter), are now sniping at each other over the conflict.

Naked Attraction has surged to capture the top spot on Max streaming service’s “Most Popular” series list a week after its U.S. release.
That’s pretty impressive for a 7-year-old British reality show that was added to Max with zero fanfare on Sept. 20. Media coverage and online chatter surged following a Hollywood Reporter story over the weekend pointing out that the controversial series had been added to the service. Max’s Top 10 is based on the number of unique accounts viewing relatively recently added content (so legacy titles like The Sopranos are not included). The show’s official ratings from Nielsen won’t be available for weeks.
The dating series features singles who judge and eliminate nude prospective dates. The show features close-up, full-frontal nudity and plenty of graphic discussion, though no sex is shown.

The kind of self-flaggellation the Left does is something you never see from the Right.
The Left’s fears about being in a bubble, about not doing enough to understand the other side, about their own overreach, are a phenomenon unique to liberals. There does not need to be a New York Times Pitchbot for the Right. Ben Shapiro is not issuing a blistering movie review takedown of a Dinesh D’Souza documentary that went too far and didn’t listen enough to the other side.
And now there’s “Coup!” Politically muddled at best, something Ron DeSantis would happily introduce at Cpac at worst, this populist satire from directors Austin Stark and Joseph Schuman is an Adam McKay-lite class-war confection looking to have it both ways. Its “eat the rich” message is certainly strong enough for those with an extremely niche grievance: Those who, three years later, want to...

Barbie music producer Mark Ronson isn’t here for Bill Maher’s take on Greta Gerwig’s billion-dollar hit.
Ronson, who oversaw the Barbie soundtrack album and also co-produced and co-wrote several of the movie’s standout songs, including “I’m Just Ken,” took to social media on Tuesday to share his thoughts on the talk show host calling the movie “preachy, man-hating and a #ZombieLie.”
“We come to this place for magic,” Ronson posted on X, imitating Nicole Kidman’s infamous ad. “We come to AMC theaters to laugh, to cry, to care…and to furiously google ‘mattel board configuration’ while others are trying to enjoy a f***king magnificent comedy.”
Ronson, who won an Academy Award in 2019 for best original song, was reacting to Maher’s four-paragraph posting on X on Wednesday. The Real Time host writing that Barbie ended up being what he expected, even though he hoped it wouldn’t be.

Marc Maron finally saw Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and had nothing but raves to share in a recent TikTok video. He also blasted conservative figures who expressed outrage over the film due to its jokes aimed at men and the patriarchy.

How Did Warner Bros. Sell Us on the Feminist Fantasy of ‘Barbie’? By Ignoring Its Feminism (Opinion)
[Editor’s note: The following article contains spoilers for “Barbie.”]
A doll that dismantles the patriarchy? Now that’s worth toying with.
Greta Gerwig’s smash hit “Barbie” plays — at times — like a meta commercial for the many products the Mattel toy conglomerate designs, builds, and sells. But at its heart, “Barbie” is a strong feminist statement against the often pathetic ironies of patriarchal rule — even though Mattel brass might tell you otherwise.
The toy conglomerate, which produced this highly original movie, noticeably shied away from publicizing the film’s feminist messaging in much of the early looks at the film, including a “2001: A Space Odyssey” parody teaser. Yet “Barbie” is more “Dr. Strangelove” than “2001”: It’s political satire at its finest, which Warner Bros. also hid under a pink cloak and dagger.
So why wasn’t “Barbie” properly publicized as the feminist indictment of modern America that it is?
While “Barbie” is on track to becoming...

As many predicted, Greta Gerwig‘s “Barbie” cleaned up at the box office this past weekend, with the film sitting just under $500 million worldwide. Will it break the $1 billion dollar barrier like star Margot Robbie predicted in her studio pitch? It certainly looks like it, and in such a tumultuous time for Hollywood, many people are happy about that. But some moviegoers, namely white male conservatives like Ben Shapiro and Piers Morgan, have had the opposite positive reaction to Gerwig’s film.

Amid a bl0w-out commercial and critical response to her $145 million “Barbie” movie, director Greta Gerwig briefly noted the ongoing online bashing taking place amid right-wing circles.
Speaking to “The New York Times” amid a comprehensive conversation about the film, Gerwig was asked if she expected the negative reaction from right-wingers.
“No, I didn’t,” she stated. “Certainly, there’s a lot of passion. My hope for the movie is that it’s an invitation for everybody to be part of the party and let go of the things that aren’t necessarily serving us as either women or men.”
The alleged backlash to “Barbie,” including conservative commentator Ben Shapiro showing up to theaters ironically dressed like Ken and then posting a 43-minute video rant about its alleged sins, is unfortunately par for the course in the modern pop culture landscape.

Greta Gerwig told The New York Times that watching her “Barbie” movie become a historic comedy blockbuster has been “so amazing.” The film debuted to a whopping $162 million, breaking the opening weekend record for a female director. It then scored $26 million on its first Monday after release, setting a new Warner Bros. in-house record for the studio’s top Monday grosser.
“I wanted to make something anarchic and wild and funny and cathartic,” Gerwig said. “The idea that it’s actually being received that way, it’s sort of extraordinary.”
With broken records and critical acclaim, conversations around “Barbie” are already turning towards a potential sequel. The New York Times asked Gerwig if “Barbie” is “the start of a franchise” or “a complete story with a definitive ending.” The director and co-writer gave no definitive answer but said she’s not thinking about a follow-up at this time.
