Alyssa McKay is set to star in The Royals of Malibu, a scripted audio adaptation of author Erin Watt‘s New York Times bestselling romance novel Paper Princess.
Produced by New York City-based Diversion Audio, The Royals of Malibu follows 17-year-old Ella Sinclair (that’s McKay), a down-on-her-luck high schooler struggling to support herself. When she’s de facto adopted by wealthy single dad Callum Royal (Armen Taylor) and swept away to live in Malibu with him and his two sons Reed and Easton, she is “determined to come through it all with her soul intact,” per an official description.
McKay is a cross-platform content creator and longtime aspiring actress. She’s known on TikTok (where she has 10 million followers) and YouTube (1.2 million subscribers) for her “rich girl” character—a persona she invented as both wish fulfillment and acting practice.
The Royals of Malibu is her first major role.

Hawaii Five-0 may be about to wrap up its 10 season run but one cast member has already lined up their return to the small screen.
Meaghan Rath has been added to the cast of CBS comedy pilot Jury Duty, which comes from 9Jkl co-creator Dana Klein and writer Stephanie Darrow.
Rath will appear opposite the previously cast Jack Cutmore-Scott for the potential series which follows a group of jurors being sequestered together until they reach a verdict.
Unfortunately for them, they can't even agree on what to eat. It's a convincing hook for a series, but it doesn't scream longevity.
According to Deadline, Rath is playing Jen, a "sarcastic, adorably neurotic and a little controlling" book editor.
Rath has been a part of the Hawaii Five-0 cast for three seasons, but CBS recently announced the series would wrap up after 10 seasons this April.

Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf) is set as the lead in Crazy for You, and Alice Lee (Brittany Runs a Marathon), Tiana Okoye (Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens) and Nick Cafero (Pitch Perfect) have been cast as series regulars in NBC’s dating comedy from former Saturday Night Live producer Rachele Lynn, fellow SNL alum Seth Meyers and SNL boss Lorne Michaels.
Written by Lynn, Crazy for You is about Daisy (Hennig) who, with her life stalling, re-enters the dating scene only to discover that while she was out of the game, the game sort of, totally, completely changed. Realizing she is a bit rusty at being “normal” and “appealing” on first dates, she’ll need the support of her friends as she strives to succeed while being her true self in today’s quick-to-dismiss dating culture.
