Rene Van Verseveld is a Dutch-American film and TV score composer, musician and record producer. Son of a Dutch jazz musician Cees Van Verseveld, inspired by his father, Rene began playing music at age 9. A classically trained bassist, he spent his teen years touring the world playing on cruise ships, clubs and other venues with his band before collaborating with King MC in Amsterdam on the 1986 European hit "What Have I Done for You Lately". Rene quickly established himself as a European dance record producer working with such artists as Candy Dulfer and 2 Unlimited, charting in the Dutch, French, Scandinavian, German and British Top 40 Dance and Pop Charts 9 times between the years of 1986 and 1992. He moved to the United States in 1994 and worked with many well known artist such as Enrique Iglesias, Dr. Dre, Smokey Robinson, Ike Turner which went on to receive 2007 Best Album Grammy for 'Risin' with the Blues' in Traditional Blues Category; additionally, Garbage, Paris Hilton, Mark Anthony, Latin Grammy Awards nominated Kumbia Kings, Chinese superstar singer, actor and model Han Geng and Indian superstar Sonu Nigam. Many albums and records produced and mixed by Rene went on to become Gold and Platinum.
After having hundreds of soundtrack and music placements in popular TV Shows and Films, in addition to working on the hit reality show 'Real Husbands of Hollywood' starring Kevin Hart, Rene ventured out into composing and scoring, spending most of his time creating score and soundtracks for Film and Television. Latest projects include co-composing for several TV Series: 'Saints and Sinners', 'Stitchers', 'Single Ladies' and 'Black Lightning'. Other endeavors include ghost composing for numerous TV shows such as 'Being Mary Jane', 'The Quad', 'In Contempt', 'American Soul', 'Games People Play' as well as the 2021 'Wendy Williams: the movie'. Rene's composing encompasses a wide variety of styles and sounds, however his signature sound includes bass influenced by blues , big Hollywood sound along with hi-tech analog elements.
Rene's Future Sound Studios in Hollywood continue working with established artists and actors on 'pre-records' for TV shows, albums, hit singles as well as guiding up-and-coming artists of various styles and backgrounds on their path to build their signature sound, composing and producing blockbuster arrangements and polishing off with professional high quality mixes.
