Upon the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the film was met with opposing reviews. While some fans weren’t impressed, many others were totally blown away by how the story unfolded. Filmmaker Sam Raimi’s added touch of the horror genre was also applauded by many. However, not everyone was a fan of what he did, particularly with Wanda Maximoff.

The upfront presentation that looks most like traditional TV came from a company that likes to tell investors, advertisers and consumers how it’s leapfrogging that entire business.
Netflix on Wednesday showed dozens of scripted series and movies that could support advertising — if only Madison Avenue would take a chance and bet on its nascent efforts to sell commercials. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Chris Hemsworth and Julia Roberts were only some of the actors whose efforts could be tied to advertising. Counterparts like NBCUniversal and Fox Corp. were hard-pressed to do the same earlier this week.
“We are just getting started,” said Peter Naylor, vice president of global advertising sales at Netflix.
The streaming giant tried to articulate its advertising plan, which media buyers say remains in its infancy and is not likely to generate the millions of consumer impressions that big advertisers need to make cash registers ring — at least not in the near term.

The first-look images of the upcoming action-spy thriller series ‘Citadel’ were unveiled recently and they show Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a deadly gun-toting avatar which she balances by setting the mercury on fire with her look. Her character is revealed to be an elite spy, Nadia Sinh in the show directed by Anthony Russo and Joseph Russo.
‘Citadel’ tells the story of the eponymous independent global spy agency which gets destroyed by operatives of Manticore as the former was tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people. Manticore is a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows.
With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They continue to be hidden from the world, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague,...

S. S. Rajamouli, the guest on this episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, is a filmmaker from India whose consistent track record of massive critical and commercial success in Telugu-language cinema might lead one to call him the James Cameron of Tollywood.
Described by The New Yorker as “an artist of distinctive temperament and talent,” by the New York Times as a filmmaker with “a knack for maximalist action and imaginative set pieces, many of which are built around dynamic special effects and choreography” and by the Los Angeles Times as “a master of spectacle” and “one of his country’s preeminent powerhouse filmmakers,” he is the winner of three National Film Awards, India’s equivalent of the Oscars, and is the highest-paid director in India — not least because three of his films are among the five highest-grossing in the history of Indian cinema, each of which,...

After making two of the most successful superhero movies of all time, Anthony and Joseph Russo tried something different. Recently, the duo released "The Gray Man" for the world to stream on Netflix, with a sequel and a spinoff on the way. Their work on the film involved juggling a large cast of talented actors, but that is nothing new to the Russo brothers. The directors had learned how to work with ensembles not only from their time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but even earlier in their careers, before they became a household name with 2014's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." British actor Regé-Jean Page is in high demand in Hollywood. Since his appearance as Simon Basset in the Shonda Rhimes Netflix show Bridgerton, which earned him an Emmy nomination, he has appeared in big budget films like The Gray Man, and his role as The Paladin in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
Page’s good looks and charm have convinced directing duo Anthony and Joseph Russo that the actor would be perfect to replace Daniel Craig as the new 007. In an interview with RadioTimes.com, the brothers mention how they can see the actor as the next James Bond.
“He’s fantastic. I mean, he has more charisma in his pinky than most people do in their entire body,” said Joe Russo. “So you know, we’d watch him do anything – I mean we’d watch him read the phonebook!”
Anthony added, “[He’s a] very savvy performer and [has] so much charm.

Marvel Studios is moving forward with their developing "Black Widow" solo feature, based on the Marvel Comics character, with Jac Schaeffer writing the screenplay and actress Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as female spy 'Natasha Romanoff':

Johansson's newest 'Black Widow' appearance will be in the upcoming feature "Avengers: Infinity War", directed by Anthony and Joseph Russo.

In the word of Joey Russo, “Whoa.”
Someone dig the flower-bedecked hat out of the closet, because a reboot of the ’90s sitcom “Blossom” could be happening. At least, that’s the word from Joey Lawrence, who played slow-witted but well-coiffed Joey Russo on the series.
Speaking to Steve Harvey on Harvey’s talk show for an episode that aired Monday, Lawrence said that the notion of a “Blossom” reboot has been the subject of “serious talk” lately, and that he and his former costar Mayim Bialik are on board if it approaches the realm of reality.

Before The Beatles came to our shores in the mid-1960s, I don’t think there was a bigger rock band in America than The Four Seasons. The Four Seasons are one of the best-selling musical groups of all time, having sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide. The story of the band’s formation, success, and their eventual break-up has already been dramatized in Jersey Boys: The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, a jukebox musical which debuted on Broadway in 2005. And now that musical has been brought from the stage to the screen. The new movie Jersey Boys is a lot of fun and quite entertaining, but unfortunately the film suffers from narrative and structural issues that prevent it from reaching its full potential.
Obviously, the focus of the cast is on the four members of The Four Seasons – John Lloyd Young as frontman/lead vocalist Frankie Valli,...

For any actor, playing Joe Pesci in a Clint Eastwood production is dream challenge – and it was one undertaken by Joey Russo, with a role in the renowned director’s latest endeavour, Jersey Boys.
We spoke to Russo about the role, and how he went about remaining faithful to Pesci’s sensibilities, without feeling like a caricature. He also tells us what it was like to work under Eastwood, how his own journey – from New Jersey to Hollywood – matches that of our protagonists, and the joys in honing his craft in a variety of different mediums.
First and foremost, have you ever met Joe Pesci?
No not yet! I am really hoping I get to meet him at the premiere though.
Joe Pesci has such a distinctive character, was it difficult to play him and be faithful to his sensibilities, and yet ensure it doesn’t just feel like a caricature?...

Okay I admit it, I'm a showtunes queen! I love Broadway and musicals, good musicals, that is. And I think "Jersey Boys" is a good musical. The rugs-to-riches tale of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is captivating and the soundtrack rocks!
And now comes the inevitable movie version, and to be honest? It actually looks good! Director Clint Eastwood added some grittiness to the Broadway gloss and voila -- a musical that will steal our hearts this summer, June 20th to be exact! Oh, plus points for adding Christopher Walken to the mix! Will he sing? Or at least dance?
Take a look at the new "Jersey Boys" trailer and then sing with the soundtrack:
Here's the official synopsis:

Ben Affleck has his hands full finishing up David Fincher's Gone Girl and moving to Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman after that where he'll play the Dark Knight. But once all that's over with the director of the Best Picture-winning Argo will move on to his second adaptation of a Dennis Lehane novel with the Prohibition Era story, Live by Night, which Warner Bros. just set for a Christmas Day 2015 release date. The Boston-set story centers on on Joe Coughlin, who rebels against his cop father and becomes a career criminal, eventually joining a mobster. He rises up the ranks as the action moves to Tampa, Fla., then Cuba and features rumrunners, femme fatales, betrayals and good men committing plenty of sin. No cast is yet attached to the project and it may be some time before we actually hear anything more concerning the film, though after Gone Baby Gone,...

Eastwood's adaptation of the Broadway musical will arrive in theaters on June 20, 2014, the same day that Screen Gems has scheduled the release of Think Like a Man Too . We all love to make fun of hardcore Jersey Shore guidos, but at least two creators believe that group is misunderstood. Jeremy Luke and Joey Russo star in Turbo and Joey, a web series about their lives as (you guessed it) aspiring Hollywood actors. Turbo and Joey's leads are embodiments of their characters, as they are both actors who hail from the greatest state in the union (not that, as a New Jersey native, I'm biased or anything). And yes, while they do spend plenty of time out partying like the bros they are, they weave softer, more creative, and ultimately sensitive personalities into their escapades. Turbo drinks heavily the night before a Macbeth audition because it's "part of the internal struggle" while Joey instructs his friend not to curse in front of his baby, even though the illegitimate infant only turned up on their doorstep seconds ago. Turbo and...

Clint Eastwood has cast Erich Bergen to play the role of Bob Gaudio in his upcoming adaptation of Jersey Boys. Bergen previously played the Four Seasons mastermind in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas versions of Jersey Boys.
Bergen joins a cast that includes Joey Russo, Jeremy Luke and Christopher Walken, however, Bergen is the first to be cast in a lead role.
Jersey Boys tells the story of how the Four Seasons became one of the top singing groups of the 1960s before they turned 30.
Besides Jersey Boys (stage version), Bergen has appeared on shows like Gossip Girl, Person of Interest, Desperate Housewives and Franklin & Bash.

Those who managed to catch new SyFy b-movie horror flick 'Jersey Shore Shark Attack' over the weekend will be pleased (or saddened) to discover that it'll be arriving on Blu-ray and DVD across the Us from 28 August courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment. The kids from the 'Shore' certainly get more than they bargained for when their local beach is overrun with bull sharks hungry to feed on the flesh of over tanned simpletons. Jeremy Luc, Melissa Molinaro, Jack Scalia, Paul Sorvino, William Atherton, Tony Sirico, Joey Russo, Daniel Booko, Alex Mauriello, Audi Resendez, Grant Harvey, Dylan Vox, Joey Fatone and Ben Giroux all star and so don't forget if you missed out on its recent TV airing then make sure you catch it on Blu-ray/DVD later this Summer....

Tragically, the sharks eventually died of alcohol poisoning.
It was a given that Syfy's Jersey Shore Shark Attack would be a bad movie, but the question is ... is it a good bad movie? Surprisingly, yes, for the most part.
Thanks to a game cast, appropriately dumb dialogue, and some astoundingly bad special effects, it ends up trashy fun ... until it eventually wears out its welcome.
Jeremy Luc as "The Complication"
Things get off to an eye-rolling start as we meet the lead characters, the excruciatingly named The Complication (Jeremy Luc), Nooki ( Melissa Molinaro), Pauly Balzac (Daniel Booko), and Donnie (played by Joey Russo, who mugged Meg Foster for her eyes).
Fortunately, the level of satire rises a notch after that cringe-inducing roll call.
The Guidos get into the typical Jersey Shore shenanigans (they're after A.S.S. "Alcohol, Sun, Sex"), but because this is family-friendly Syfy, it stays at a...

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh.
