Swiss investment firm Crédit des Alpes is launching a new film financing division called The Film Bond, which offers an online tool that it claims reduces standard costs of completion bonds that most indie producers need to get their projects off the ground.
A completion bond is simply a guarantee that a film’s production will be completed on time and on budget. If a movie runs over schedule or over budget, the completion bonder pays to finish the film or makes the decision to abandon production and repays the investors who financed the project. Most independent films need a bond to go into production.
The new Crédit des Alpes Film Bond unit specializes in offering low-cost indie film financing through self-completion bonds that are connected to an online banking platform that comprises all key players involved in a movie from pre-production to post.

'Ferrari' producer Andrea Iervolino has hit back at criticism of the decision to cast Adam Driver in the lead role. The 35-year-old producer claimed that Italian cinema has not produced enough high-profile stars to play the part of Enzo Ferrari – the founder of the legendary car company - and rubbished suggestions of "cultural appropriation" by film star Pierfrancesco Favino.Speaking at the Venice Film Festival, Iervolino – who is Italian-Canadian – said: "Italian cinema needs to look beyond Italy and come up with synergies with the international film industry, which wants to invest in Italian icons. Films like 'Ferrari', which will be distributed in 150 countries, promote Italy and Italian genius."The producer called on Italy's film industry to "make films based on stories that speak to the whole world, with international stars who work side by side with our own talent".Favino had questioned why acclaimed actors such as Toni Servillo...

There’s only one line of dialogue uttered in the first teaser trailer for Michael Mann’s Ferrari. Following shots of cars racing, snippets of angry people, and a fiery crash, Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari declares, “If you get into one of my cars, you get in to win.”
Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gordon, Gabriel Leone, Jack O’Connell, and Patrick Dempsey also star in director Michael Mann’s much-anticipated examination of Enzo Ferrari’s life.

Michael Mann’s last outing as a feature film director was eight years ago with the cyber crime film Blackhat, starring Chris Hemsworth. Now, the director of such classic films as The Last of the Mohicans and Heat returns with the story of Enzo Ferrari. Ironically, Mann had executive produced James Mangold’s 2019 racing film, Ford v Ferrari, in which the Italian brand was the main competition for the film’s protagonists. Mann’s Ferrari is naturally the story from the other side (albeit at a different time) as the film shows the auto giant navigating the issues of his personal life with the looming obstacles of an upcoming, dangerous 1,000-mile race.
The official synopsis from Neon reads,
“It is the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura built from nothing ten years earlier.

Neon has released the first look at its fiery Michael Mann racing drama Ferrari, starring Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz and Shailene Woodley.
Based on Brock Yates’ book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine, the anticipated film (which has landed on THR chief film critic David Rooney’s Top 10 list) follows Ferrari during the summer of 1957, as the ex-Formula 1 racer who built his own factory and established the Ferrari brand.
But in the nearly one-and-a-half minute sneak peek, which arrived just a day before the film is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival, the legacy Ferrari built is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens his business, which he built with his wife, Laura (Cruz), 10 years before. In his personal life, Ferrari struggles to handle the death of their son, Dino, amid a worsening marriage, and to acknowledge his other son, Piero, with mistress Lina Lardi.

Ahead of the film’s debut at the Venice Film Festival, Neon has dropped the first trailer for “Heat” and “The Insider” filmmaker Michael Mann’s new movie “Ferrari.” Not quite a biopic, the film chronicles Enzo Ferrari (played by Adam Driver) through the lens of one fateful summer.
Set in 1957, the film follows ex-racer Ferrari (Adam Driver) as he faces multiple crises: his factory and family are under threat of bankruptcy, his marriage is in shambles due to the loss of their son Dino, his relationship with his other son outside his marriage is strained and his drivers are pushed to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.
You’ll only get flashes of that in the first trailer, which is dialogue-free and instead opts for evocative imagery as a roaring race car revs over the footage. Mann worked for the...

In about four years time, Andrea Iervolino hopes to launch a stadium and TV studios into orbit and broadcast the world’s first zero-gravity Mma fight from space. He’d originally thought that Galactic Combat — his idea for reality-show-meets-sports-tournament following a group of spacebound fighters — would be ready sooner, within two or three years, but he’s says some “technical issues” among his aerospace partners has pushed his expectations back. “But it’s not really far away.”
Until then, the Italian producer will sadly have to contend with work on solid ground under Earth’s less exciting gravitation pull, work that includes — among a wide array of activities across entertainment, sport and beyond — being one of the producers on Michael Mann’s all-star and much-anticipated Venice-bowing biopic Ferrari. Gomez seemed to poke fun at the rumor mill's penchant for matching her up with single celebs in a June TikTok video. Ilbe CEO Iervolino said: "We are delighted to announce another international production involving such world-class actresses and actors. "'Skincare' is a film with a strong visual impact that, because of the cast and the workers it involves, has enormous potential. "It is a film that we at Ilbe believe in very much."Schwartz and Lerman cannot wait to team up with Banks in the motion picture, and they are thrilled to be working with Peters.

Moisturize me! Shout out to all the Doctor Who fans who understood that reference. Elizabeth Banks will go from doing cocaine with bears to slathering on rejuvenation cream for the Austin Peters-directed “vanity thriller” Skincare. The project is from Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment, with Jonathan Schwartz and Logan Lerman producing. While the WGA strike continues to delay progress on film and television projects, Skincare already completed its production.
The film stars Banks, Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Luis Gerardo Méndez (Charlie’s Angels), and Nathan Fillion, with the plot taking place in Hollywood, California. Further details remain a mystery, though it likely won’t be long before we learn more.

Laura Benanti has left Amazon’s upcoming TV adaptation of “Cruel Intentions.”
The Tony-winner was set to appear in the recurring guest star role of Caroline’s (Sarah Catherine Hook) mother, Claudia.
“Unfortunately due to a scheduling conflict, I’m no longer able to participate in ‘Cruel Intentions,’” Benanti told me Thursday afternoon. “I’m sure they’ll find a wonderful actress to play this role.”
Benanti co-stars in the upcoming “No Hard Feelings,” the raunchy coming-of-age movie headlined by Jennifer Lawrence and Andrew Barth Feldman. She’s also currently sharing the stage with Matthew Broderick in an off-Broadway production of A.R. Gurney’s “Love Letters.”
Variety exclusively reported on June 1 that the stars of the “Cruel Intentions” show will be: Hook; Zac Burgess (“Totally Completely Fine”) as Lucien; Khobe Clarke as Scott; Brooke Lena Johnson as Beatrice; Sara Silva as CeCe; Sean Patrick Thomas (the original “Cruel Intentions” film,...

Billing it as an industry first, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment has launched a reward program across its entire streaming ecosystem in partnership with Italy-based social media and entertainment app TaTaTu.
Viewers signing up for the program on Crackle, Redbox or Chicken Soup’s eponymous AVOD service, along with hundreds of Fast channels, will earn coins. The coins can then be used to bid on prizes and buy products.
The reward program uses Ttu Coins, which the company said in a press release are different from cryptocurrency. TaTaTu, which was founded in 2020 by film producer Andrea Iervolino, set a global content deal with Chicken Soup earlier this month.
The program launch comes as Chicken Soup for the Soul continues to regroup in the wake of swallowing Redbox in 2022 in a $375 million deal. Like others in its peer group, the company’s stock has taken a beating because of its exposure to streaming,...
