Hannibal Pictures has licensed a slew of territories on R Ellis Frazier’s action film Misfire led by a Us and UK deal with Image Entertainment.
Rights have also gone to Spain (Inopia Films), France (Marco Polo), Greece and Turkey (Tanweer), former Yugoslavia (Montenegro Discovery Film & Video), Hungary (M-rtl Zrt), Poland (Monolith Films), Romania (Prorom Media-Trade), Middle East (Eagle), Latin America (California Filmes), Japan (Klockworx) and China and Hong Kong (Star Alliance).
Frazier and Geoffrey Ross are producing the film and anticipate a late April delivery.
Misfire stars Gary Daniels, Vannessa Vasquez and Michael Greco and tells of a DEA agent who heads to Mexico after his ex-wife is kidnaped by a cartel boss. Benjamin Budd wrote the screenplay.
Luis Gatica, Geoffrey Ross and Patricia Peinado Cruz round out the key cast.

After filming a supporting role in the Natalie Portman movie “Jane Got a Gun,” up-and-coming actor Jack Falahee is set to join Nicolas Cage in Image Entertainment’s upcoming action-thriller “Tokarev,” TheWrap has learned.
Spanish filmmaker Paco Cabezas is directing “Tokarev” from a script by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller.
Cage stars as a reformed gangster who must track down the Russian mobsters who kidnapped his daughter. Falahee will play a friend of Cage’s daughter who knows about his criminal past.

Exclusive: Marco Polo Production, which is owned by Hannibal Classics/Hannibal Pictures’ Richard Rionda Del Castro, has purchased Aventi Distribution, the leading independent home entertainment distributor in France. For Marco Polo, this acquisition represents an anticipated $20 million in annual revenue. Aventi’s network of clients includes over 3000 retailers and the largest chains in France, plus all direct access to all French VOD platforms. Marco Polo’s goal is to have Aventi distribute 70 titles in all media platforms, including ten theatrical releases per year. The acquisition has been approved by all Aventi shareholders, Eton and Edmond De Rothschild Investment Partners. And both groups will now be shareholders of Marco Polo along with Patriot Capital. Company says that the Aventi business will continue to run as it has, with a staff of 24 people, but with a new CFO and consultants hired by Marco Polo for TV sales and acquisitions of films. The...

Hannibal Classics has set Danny Glover, Peter Stomare, Aubrey Peebles, Patrice Cols and Max Fowler to join Nicolas Cage in the action thriller Tokarev. The film, which starts June 8 in Alabama, marks the American debut of Spanish helmer Paco Cabezas. Cage plays a reformed criminal whose daughter is kidnapped by the Russian mob. To find her, he must leave his respectable life behind, round up his old crew and seek his own brand of justice. Funding comes from Union Patriot Capital Management LLC. Image Entertainment has acquired North American rights and the Hannibal Classics sales division is selling it around the world. “We couldn’t be happier with our cast, a combination of audience favorites and fresh young talent, said Riionda Del Castro. Danny and Peter are recognized and loved all over the world. And in Max Fowler, Aubrey Peeples and Patrice Cols we feel we have found the stars of tomorrow.

Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in Hannibal Classics' action-revenge thriller Tokarev. Cage, who long has been interested in the role, was involved in the search for the film's director -- which will be up-and-coming Spanish filmmaker Paco Cabezas. Hannibal, which is handling worldwide sales in Berlin, is eyeing a May production start in Spokane, Wash. Hannibal’s Richard Rionda Del Castro will produce in association with North by Northwest Entertainment. Variety reports that filming will start in Spokane, Washington in May on the pic scripted by Sean Keller and Jim Agnew.
