Exclusive: Not a happy day in Stamford, Connecticut today as WWE had a round of layoffs that impact its film, TV and social media divisions in Connecticut and Los Angeles. Trying to find out the exact number, but WWE Studios saw layoffs in the feature, TV, and its digital/social media division Advanced Media Group. All of these operations will be consolidated into a single division, with a smaller staff running those operations. We’ve heard the cuts were deep. The news was conveyed today by phone by president and chief revenue officer Nick Khan, who left his post as co-head of the CAA television department last summer to take the job. He was the agent for the WWE before he took the job.
The feature division’s productions range from the Hamish Grieve-directed animated feature Rumble for Paramount Animation, the Dwayne Johnson-starrer Fighting With My Family, and...

Paramount announced Wednesday that it is moving the wrestling-themed animated film “Rumble” from a release date on May 14 to February 18, 2022.
This makes the studio the first to move a film slated for release in May 2021, though it might not be the last as studios weigh whether or not to abandon hopes that the Covid-19 pandemic will subside enough for theaters to reopen nationwide in the second quarter.
Disney has already moved the live-action “101 Dalmatians” spinoff “Cruella” from theatrical release to Disney+ on Memorial Day weekend, but is still committed to a May 7 theatrical opening for Marvel Studios’ “Black Widow.” Other films currently set for release in May include Universal’s “F9” and Lionsgate’s “Spiral.”
Co-produced by WWE Studios and directed by Hamish Grieve, “Rumble” stars Will Arnett and Geraldine Viswanathan as an amateur monster wrestler and an aspiring teenage human trainer who team up to become champions in...

Paramount Animation and WWE Studios are teaming on the pic, which is directed by Hamish Grieve and originally was slated for a summer 2020 bow before the exhibition business shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic. Now it returns to its (in normal times) original early-summer-box-office slot, only a year later.

It follows Winnie (Hala‘s Geraldine Viswanathan), who seeks to follow in her father’s footsteps by coaching a loveable underdog monster (Will Arnett) into a wrestling champion.

"Let's get ready to rumble!!" Paramount Animation has unveiled the first trailer for their latest animated movie Rumble, arriving in theaters in January 2021 just under a year from now. In a world where monster wrestling is a global sport and monsters are superstar athletes, Winnie seeks to follow in her father’s footsteps by coaching a loveable underdog monster into a champion. While entirely different in many ways, this reminds me a bit of Monsters Inc with a world of monsters. The huge voice cast includes Will Arnett, Terry Crews, Geraldine Viswanathan, Joe "Roman Reigns" Anoa'i, Tony Danza, Becky Lynch, Susan Kelechi Watson, Stephen A. Smith, Jimmy Tatro, Ben Schwartz, and Michael Buffer. This is a fun first look trailer, introducing the characters and concept. It all seems a bit obvious but still amusing. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Hamish Grieve's Rumble, direct from Paramount's YouTube:...

In a world where monsters are tame and monster wrestling is a popular sport, Winnie seeks to follow in her father’s footsteps as a manager by turning an inexperienced monster into a contender.
Mireille Soria, president of Paramount Animation, had this to say in a statement:
“Rumble is steeped in the world of wrestling, and what better partners to help bring this world to life than WWE.

Sydney agency Core has gone poetic in its first campaign for Australian gardening tools brand Victa.
The campaign, which introduces a new tagline ‘Altogether better’, is a response to a brief to highlight Victa’s garden and lawn care range.
Core won the business after a competitive pitch last year.
Laura Clarke, marketing communications manager, Briggs & Stratton said: “We want Australians to relate to the people in our ad and understand how Victa’s range of products provides Australians with locally tested and designed reliable outdoor power equipment to maintain their gardens and lawns. We’re here to help Australians easily manage their garden so that they can get back to enjoying time with their family and friends – and that’s why we’ve created this campaign.”
