The release of late actor Amrish Puri’s grandson Vardhan Puri’s film ‘Dashmi’ was originally scheduled for release in cinemas on January 19, in the week of the inauguration of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. However, it has now been postponed to a later date due to certification issues.
The ensemble cast includes Vardhan Puri, Adil Khan, Monica Chaudhary and others.
Shedding light on the matter, Vardhan informed: “On behalf of the film’s director Shantanu Anant Tambe, all the actors, and the technical crew, I would like to confirm that the release date of ‘Dashmi’ has been postponed due to a certification issue.”
“At the moment, we are not allowed to comment on anything, but the new release date of the film will be officially announced once we all have more information.”

New Delhi, Aug 28 (Ians) In preparation for the upcoming 49th King’s Cup taking place from September 7 to 10, the Indian senior football team is gearing up with determination. With memories of their previous trip to Thailand still fresh, Igor Stimac’s squad is eager to leave behind past disappointments and embrace a new chapter in their journey.
When India last participated in the King’s Cup in Thailand in June 2019, it was, in a sense, the beginning of a new era. After an excruciating last-minute exit from the AFC Asian Cup group stage just five months before, Stimac took charge, kicking off the next cycle for the Blue Tigers.
India have been drawn against the highest-ranked side in the competition, Iraq, in this year’s edition too. Thailand and Lebanon will contest the other semifinal. The difference this time, however, is the momentum India is carrying into the competition.

Special Ops 1.5(Disney + Hotstar, 4 Episodes)
Starring K K Menon, Aftab Shivdasani, Vinay Pathak, Adil Khan
Directed by Neeraj Pathak, Shivum Nair
Strong stuff, this. The writing is skilful if not completely convincing. The plot takes us to a number of foreign countries and the action sequences in Ukraine are first-rate.
Hats off to Neeraj Pandey and his co-director Shivum Nair for respecting the audiences’ intelligence. This is an intelligent nosedive into the world of Intelligence. Special Ops 1.5 neither underestimates our proclivity to grasp the unspoken, nor does it spoonfeed us with surplus information.
What we see is not what we get. Not quite. There are invisible layers of deception in the espionage drama as we are taken into a backstory to find out what made the Raw agent Himmat Singh what he is. It’s a stroke of luck for Himmat Singh that he is played by the ever-reliable K K Menon.

Doha, June 14 (Ians) Fresh from their 2-0 win against Bangladesh, the Sunil Chhetri-led India will look to garner full points when they face Afghanistan in their last Group E match of the World Cup 2022 and Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium here on Tuesday.
While the 105th-ranked India are out of the race for the World Cup qualification, they only need to avoid defeat against the 149th-ranked Afghanistan to confirm the third spot behind leaders Qatar (22 points) and second-placed Oman (15 points) in Group E.
India are currently on six points -- one more than Afghanistan -- and a win on Tuesday will help them enter the final round of the Qualifiers for the Asian Cup China 2023 on a high.
India's head coach, Igor Stimac, will count on the momentum generated by the 2-0 win against 'tricky customers' Bangladesh on June 7, when Chhetri scored a brace.

Doha, June 6 (Ians) How many times does it happen that an athlete representing his national team scores a match-saving goal and at almost at the same time his father is undergoing a heart surgery -- a successful one? Indian football team defender Adil Khan savoured this on October 15, 2019, at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan (Ybk), Kolkata.
With Bangladesh leading 1-0 at the half time in a Group E match of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023, and with two minutes left in the game, Khan sent in a glancing header at the near post off a corner and salvaged a point for India. It triggered unlimited joy in the 'City of Joy'.

Doha, June 6 (Ians) The Sunil Chhetri-led Indian football team would take Bangladesh lightly at their own peril when the teams face off in the combined qualifiers for the World Cup 2022 and Asian Cup 2023, here on Monday.
The Igor Stimac-coached India did well to concede just one goal against Asian champions Qatar in the opening match of the combined tournament on June 3, and it's unlikely they will let their guard down against Bangladesh who are ranked 186th in the world, far below India's 105th ranking.
While India are out of contention in the race for the 2022 World Cup, their focus is on the Asian Cup 2023, where they have a chance to qualify, with another game against Afghanistan coming up on June 15 in Doha.

Doha, June 2 (Ians) Despite a far-from-ideal preparation, the Sunil Chhetri-led Indian football team begins its bid to qualify for the 2023 Asian Cup with a match against Asian champions Qatar on Thursday. Although it is a combined qualification tournament, combining the 2022 World Cup, India are out of contention for the game's biggest tournament.
India's other qualification matches are against Bangladesh on June 7 and Afghanistan on June 15.
There is a huge different in both the quality and rankings of the two teams. While Qatar are ranked 58th, India are 105th.
However, Indian players will draw inspiration from the last time they clashed with Qatar, in a World Cup qualifying match in 2019, at the same venue in Doha. It was a goalless draw, but the Indian team, minus an ailing Chhetri, put up a brave fight and won many hearts. It is considered one of the best results in India's recent football history.

Goa, May 20 (Ians) Fc Goa midfielder Glan Martins has credited his maiden inclusion in the 28-member probables' list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Doha to his performance in the AFC Champions League (Acl) group stage matches held in Goa recently.
Indian Super League (Isl) side Fc Goa had drawn three games -- against Qatar's Al Rayyan and UAE's Al Wahda -- and lost two of the other three games by narrow margins, thanks to goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh's saves and Martins' gritty play.
"The AFC Champions League has given me the confidence to perform at the highest level. We have played among the best teams in Asia, so it will help me a lot in the national team," said the 26-year-old Goa player.
"I was giving my best every time I got on the pitch. It didn't matter whether it was in training or match.

As per the health parameters required to travel to Qatar, all the travelling players and staff have to carry with them negative test results from the Rt-pcr tests conducted in the last 48 hours. New Delhi, March 28 (Ians) India football coach Igor Stimac has said that he is happy with the young players in the squad and said that they can get better in the coming years if they have less pressure to deal with.
The team is currently in Dubai where they are preparing to face the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday. They had earlier played out a 1-1 draw against Oman in a match in which India had fielded as many as 10 debutants.
"I'm happy as a coach because all these youngsters are down to earth. So I don't need to spend time with this educational process because we don't have time," he said in a virtual press conference on Sunday when asked if he was worried about getting the players to keep their feet on the ground.
"I'm very happy, they are down to earth boys and keen to learn.

New Delhi, March 24 (Ians) India's 15-month break from international football came after their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Oman and they will face the same team to mark their return to action on Thursday.
The match will be played at Dubai's Maktoom Bin Rashid Stadium and will be the first of two international friendlies that India will play within a week, the second being against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the same venue.
Unlike the previous fixture, however, the match on Thursday does not come with the baggage of expectation or pressure. In fact, coach Igor Stimac made it clear in the pre-match press conference that he doesn't care as much about the results in these two matches as he does about the experience that the slew of young players in the Indian team will gain from facing higher-ranked opposition in foreign conditions.

Liston Colaco, Akash Mishra, and Ishan Pandita are among 10 first-time inclusions in the list in response to their performances in the Indian Super League (Isl) this season.

Margao (Goa), Feb 28 (Ians) Fc Goa held Hyderabad Fc to a goalless draw on Sunday at the Fatorda Stadium here to qualify for the playoffs of the Indian Super League (Isl).
A brilliant defensive performance from Ivan Gonzalez and some crucial saves from goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem were enough for Goa to get the point they needed. They were lucky not to concede late in the game and a good show from Hyderabad was not enough to stop Juan Ferrando's men from qualifying for their fourth consecutive semifinals, extending their unbeaten run to 13 games.
Hyderabad remain unbeaten in the 12 matches they have played in 2021 but they had to settle for the fifth spot on the table.
Hyderabad missed the services of their regular scorer Aridane Santana upfront and Chinglensana Singh in defence, both of whom were serving suspensions. But they were up for the challenge and were able to match their opponents.
