I’ve got a weird love/hate relationship with writer/director Justin Price, insomuch as I’ll love one film, then hate the next. The last film I reviewed of his was The Mummy Rebirth, which I actually really enjoyed and – as I mentioned in my review – not in an ironic way; I dug the mythos of Price’s mummy movie, so much so I could look past the low-budget mature of the film. Which meant that when the opportunity to review a new Justin Price film came up, I had to check it out and see where this love/hate streak was headed this time!

Five hired mercenaries travel to an uncharted planet to collect a rare mineral known as stardust to replenish the dying star. A flight team becomes stranded on an alien planet while attempting to activate a machine that will restore Earth. Somebody fights an alien monster and there are also space zombies because…reasons?
I would bet a fiver that I have put more thought into those first two sentences than Justin Price put into his entire film. Alien Reign Of Man is as burdensome a title to watch as it is to type. However, I will not shorten the title to just Alien because I would not dare insult the Ridley Scott universe this film so desperately wants to be when it grows up.
I was tricked into enjoying the first five minutes of story. The desolate, alien landscape felt ominous and the explorers’ environmental suits had a cool medieval knight aesthetic to them. The acting is pretty bad from the start,...

Religious themes have been overplayed in horror. However, Justin Price's Forsaken offers a few chilling moments. This film will debut in 2016 via Uncorked Entertainment. And, Forsaken stars David E. Cazares, Nissa Nightmare and Michael Catalano. A sales trailer has been released for the film as it makes its way to the American Film Market, in Santa Monica. The story begins with a Priest. His wife is dying and he uses arcane arts to prolong her life. However, he may have released the souls of all those who have been possessed in the past. Now, the anti-Christ is promising a return, but his promises are often lies. The sales trailer requires a bit more polish. The story seems to bounce around in the clip. Still, sales trailers are often used to draw attention to projects from distributors. A proof-of-concept, a sales trailer can also help garner further funds to finish a film.

After the critical debacle that was “The Devil Inside”, you’re right to be skeptical of yet another exorcism movie. However, the trailer for Justin Price’s “The Cloth” definitely has some things working in its favor. Tops on this list is Danny Trejo as an exorcising priest. What’s not to love about that? I’ll watch anything he’s in, a strategy that’s led to me watching some dogs, but if he’s on board, so am I. I sure hope that Trejo’s method of exorcism is to mad dog the demons until they leave their host, heads down, profusely apologizing for having wasted Mr. Trejo’s valuable time. Number two on my list of why “The Cloth” stands apart from the crowd is another cast member, Eric Roberts. The star of “Best of the Best” plays another priest, and while not as grim-faced as Trejo,...

Just as we had seen in the wake of Paranormal Activity, which spawned countless supernatural imitators, expect plenty of exorcism-fueled fare to come post-The Devil Inside.
