Netflix has renewed The Vince Staples Show for a second season.
Set in Long Beach, CA, the fictional series is loosely inspired by Staples’ life. Here’s the official logline: Who’s Vince Staples? Well, that’s a tricky question. He’s kind of famous, but he’s not. He’s kind of rich, but he’s not. He’s also kind of a criminal. But he’s…not? Follow him on his daily adventures, where anything that can go wrong usually does.
It’s executive produced by Staples, Kenya Barris (Khalabo Ink Society), Corey Smyth, Edelman (Edelgang), Williams, and William Stefan Smith.
The comedy was first announced in 2022.
“The Vince Staples Show is back!” Staples said. “The people have spoken and the most riveting, captivating, and polarizing show on Netflix is returning for season 2. Get ready for hijinks that only a mother can love. Thank you, Netflix!”

There is lots of news dribbling out of Netflix today.
While we don’t have many details, we might as well get the discussion started.
Here’s what we’ve got.
Adam Sandler Revives Happy Gilmore
For fans of Adam Sandler, the movie Happy Gilmore might be one of his greatest achievements.
Golfers rarely get the movie star treatment despite the amount of money that goes to the winners, but this 1996 movie uses adversity to push him toward the big prize.
Today, Netflix announced that they’d be reviving Mr. Gilmore, but little else is known.
Should some of Happy’s old rivals return?
Christopher McDonald played Happy’s rival Shooter McGavin, and he mentioned the project in March.
Whether that means he’ll be along for the ride remains to be seen.

Where Vince Staples goes, chaos follows. The first poster for The Vince Staples Show, the Netflix series premiering Feb. 15, features the rapper with a gnarly black eye — and its trailer finds him dodging bullets, greedy family members, and jail time. Still, Staples isn’t even a little fazed by any of it.
“Anything interesting happen?” Andrea Ellsworth’s character asks Staples, who mentally recalls getting stomped out by a mascot, brawls at a cookout, and an impromptu hangout with Rick Ross — downing lemon pepper wings — before responding simply: “Not really.

Spyglass Media came on board to co-finance the project after Artists Road boarded the indie comedy. Gary Barber’s Spyglass Media Group, Ben Silverman’s Propagate Content, Artists First and Off-Road Productions combined to launch Artists Road as a comedy film joint venture in 2020.
The Chernin brothers are also known for the popular TV series It’s Always Sunny, the FX sitcom...

Jennifer Lawrence produces and stars in No Hard Feelings, a raunchy sort-of rom-com that’s much sweeter at heart than it initially appears on the surface. As a result, the tone is all over the place, but it ultimately wins you over, thanks to committed comic performances from the two leads.

In these dark times in which we live, the line between satire and horror can be so razor-thin as to barely exist at all. Peacock’s Craig Robinson comedy Killing It is ostensibly a comedy about how badly the American economic system is stacked against anyone who isn’t already well-off. But its humor is so cutting, and so often feels not that far removed from reality, that I often spend more time covering my face during episodes than laughing.
This is not a complaint, mind you. The series, created...

No Hard Feelings: Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD details announced for Jennifer Lawrence’s raunchy comedy
Gene Stupnitsky’s raunchy R-rated comedy, No Hard Feelings, is coming to the home market later this month. According to Sony Pictures, the hilarious and decidedly horny comedy releases on Blu-ray and DVD on August 29, with the Digital release coming next week on August 15. The spicy comedy tells the story of Maddie, a woman on the brink of losing her home who finds a curious job listing: parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college. Maddie’s mission is to cure Percy Becker (Andrew Barth Feldman) of his insecurity and turn him into a medalist in the Bedroom Olympics if you catch my drift.
The comedy comes from Gene Stupnitsky, who co-wrote 2011’s Bad Teacher and 2009’s Year One.

Cinema roll-call! Alright, it’s the Summer movie season, and what stalwarts have already taken over the multiplex? Big superhero epic? Check and double-check! Action blockbuster franchises? Check? Family-friendly animated features? Check! Raunchy slapstick comedy? Hello…Anyone there? Oh yes, finally it’s here just as Summer officially begins. And this is indeed rated “R” as in raunchy, ribald, and risque. much in the same vein as The Hangover trilogy and the American Pie dynasty of flicks (theatres and straight-to-video). Oh, for those of you that think these flicks are too “low brow” and “classless”, well the “above the title” star is an Oscar winner, so there! And if you think such a genre is “beneath her”, I’m sure she hopes you’ll laugh and that there will be No Hard Feelings.

Gene Stupnitsky’s 2019 feature-length debut, Good Boys, set out to reinvent the coming-of-age comedy, and it figured that the best way to do so was to have the filthiest words imaginable fall from the mouths of its pre-teen characters. His follow-up, No Hard Feelings, takes a similarly unimaginative approach to the romantic comedy, which in this case translates to juicing up bog-standard material with raunch, profanity, and violence.
Most of the film’s shocks involve Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) in one way or another, and they include watching the Montauk native catch fire, get maced and punched in the throat, and beat up a trio of troublesome teens while buck naked. Through it all, you never doubt that Lawrence is game for anything, but this willingness to go all-in has been wasted on gross-out gags that are more often than not cringey and desperate in their calculation than funny or transgressive.

In a saner world, we would have already had a dozen Jennifer Lawrence comedies.
When aliens arrive they will surely go directly to IMDb to survey her filmography and wonder why one of Hollywood’s funniest and most naturally charismatic stars spent the first decade of her career in dystopias, action movies and whatever it is you call “Mother!”
As if to make up for lost time, Lawrence has in “No Hard Feelings” made the kind of R-rated teen comedy that has usually launched young actors. She plays a 32-year-old Montauk Uber driver who, desperate for money after her car is towed, is hired by the wealthy parents of a timid and sheltered 19-year-old (newcomer Andrew Barth Feldman) to take his virginity before he heads off to Princeton.

Had Katniss Everdeen and the “X-Men” series never gotten in the way — or, had we still lived in an era when superheroes or fantasy franchises were not seen as status symbols on the resume of a young superstar — Jennifer Lawrence would have already starred in numerous rom-coms by now, à la the Julia Roberts of the 90s. Especially after winning the Oscar for one a decade ago, with David O. Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook.”
But better late than never says Gene Stupnitsky’s “No Hard Feelings,” a genuinely witty and somewhat clumsy romantic comedy, that feels more like an honest-to-god movie than many of the rushed and straight-to-streaming examples of the genre we’ve seen in the recent years.
Written by Stupnitsky (of the heartily funny “Good Boys”) and John Phillips, this light pick-me-up of a flick is as eager to please as Lawrence is to show off her luminous physical comedy skills,...

If anyone could have saved the studio comedy, it might have been Jennifer Lawrence. But if the uneven sex comedy “No Hard Feelings” is Hollywood’s best effort, it’s not looking good for either one. Starring Lawrence as a broadly sketched caricature of an emotionally stunted, sexually liberated thirtysomething struggling to stay afloat, “No Hard Feelings” tries to resurrect the messy white woman trope that worked so well in films like “Young Adult” and “Trainwreck.” Though by no means a guarantee, there’s a crucial difference between those movies and “No Hard Feelings” — actual women wrote them.
Though Lawrence, who is also an executive producer of the movie, is working overtime to make the stilted and over-the-top humor work, director Gene Stupnitsky (co-writing with John Phillips) seems far more interested in trying to invert conventional gendered comedy tropes. Lawrence dons skin-tight dresses soaked in water, takes a punch to...

Late last year, Jennifer Lawrence had returned to her indie roots as she starred in an intimate character drama titled Causeway, which dealt with grief, forgiveness, acceptance, and moving on. Lawrence will be venturing into lighter-hearted material, still meant for mature audiences, but in a different manner. She is starring in the raunchy comedy, No Hard Feelings. The title is a double entendre, which plays on the concept of her character being hired to take the V-card of a socially awkward college-bound teen by his concerned parents.
The comedy comes from Gene Stupnitsky, who had co-wrote 2011’s Bad Teacher and 2009’s Year One. He recently helmed Good Boys, which was a shake-up of an American Pie-esque movie, only this time involving younger boys, and their ultimate goal was to kiss a girl. Here, Stupnitsky once again plays with conventions in a script he co-wrote with John Phillips, who had produced...

An Uber driver without a car, Jennifer Lawrence finds herself financially stuck in a new trailer for the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.” That is, until a wealthy couple offers her a Buick Regal if she agrees to “date” their awkward 19-year-old son before he goes off to college.
“You won’t even rent your house out, but now you’re gonna rent out your vag?” one of Lawrence’s friends asks upon learning about her arrangement, to which Lawrence responds: “You have a Road Runner tattoo covering your entire back, I don’t think you should tell anybody what to do with their body.”
In the trailer, Lawrence frantically circles a high school party in search of Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), barging into bedrooms only to find teenagers sitting on their phones. “Doesn’t anyone fuck anymore?” she asks, stupefied.

Los Angeles, March 10 (Ians) Actress Jennifer Lawrence stars in a raunchy comedy ‘No Hard Feelings’ whose trailer highlights her character’s attempt to seduce a 19-year-old boy.
In the movie, Lawrence stars as Maddie, a down on her luck Uber driver in need of some quick cash to save her childhood home after an ex-boyfriend / tow truck driver, Gary, (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) repossesses her car.
A now-out-of-work Uber driver, Maddie stumbles upon an interesting offer from two rich parents, who are looking for someone to “date” their socially awkward teenage son, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti play the wealthy parents, who are trying to get their college-bound son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) “out of the shell” before he goes to Princeton. In an exchange for a new car, Maddie agrees to “date” the teenager.
The video goes on to show Maddie’s failed attempts to sleep with Gary and the hilarity that ensues.

Jennifer Lawrence goes all-out comedy in the trailer for her new movie, No Hard Feelings.
The story follows Maddie (Lawrence) – an Uber driver who, after losing her license, answers a Craigslist ad from two parents looking for someone to date their 19-year-old son before he goes to college.
“He doesn’t come out of his room, he doesn’t talk to girls, he doesn’t drink,” the boy’s father (played by Matthew Broderick) explains.
Maddie then confirms that when his parents say “date”, what they mean is: have sex with.
The rest of the trailer then follows Maddie attempting to seduce the apparently unseducible young man named Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman).
“Mind if I touch your wiener?” She asked the teen at the dog adoption centre where he volunteers in one scene.
Elsewhere, Lawrence performs a striptease and demands the boy to come skinny dipping with him.
In another scene,...
