The Boys is one of the best superhero series with some of the most gory and violent action sequences. Based on a comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the Prime Video series is created by Eric Kripke and it follows the story of a young man named Hughie whose girlfriend is killed by a reckless supe, because of that, he joins Billy Butcher with a team of vigilantes who are trying to get justice against the supes, who are backed by their very violent leader Homelander and an evil corporation Vought. The Boys is just getting better with each new and let’s hope that’s the case for the upcoming fourth season. So, if you love all the gore, violence, dark comedy, supes, and genuine emotions in The Boys here are some similar shows you could watch next.

Apple TV Plus released a first look at “The Problem With Jon Stewart,” which launches Sept. 30. The series’ companion podcast will also launch that same day.
Stewart returns to host a television series 16 years after he closed out his run on “The Daily Show.” He jokes about that in the clip, saying, “This is what I look like now.” But this new series is described as a “current affairs series,” rather than a talk show.
In it, Stewart will welcome a wide range of guests from celebrities, such as Jason Alexander, participating in sketches to experts on topics that the struggle for comprehensive veteran care and supporting the working class, and everyday people discussing their personal issues in America. Undoubtedly, healthcare will also come up, as Stewart has spent much of his time over the last few years fighting for the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. The podcast will expand upon each...

Following the success of National Geographic limited series The Hot Zone, showrunner-EPs Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson and EP David Zucker looked at around 100 ideas for a second season, landing subject-wise on the harrowing anthrax attacks of 2001.
From the perspective of Peterson, The Hot Zone: Anthrax was “a really good companion piece” for the original—focused on an outbreak of Ebola and the scientists working to combat it—because it wasn’t a story about a virus, but instead “about bacteria in a targeted situation, [a story that] still lived roughly in same world.”
Souders said during the show’s panel today at TCA that it felt like “the right time” to tell this story “during a pandemic, when science is at the forefront.
“Definitely, being able to portray scientists as the heroes of today was important for us,” Peterson added, “and was a huge thing for National Geographic as well.”

Ian Colletti (Preacher), Dawn Olivieri (House of Lies) and Denyce Lawton (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne) are set for recurring roles opposite Daniel Dae Kim and Tony Goldwyn in The Hot Zone: Anthrax, the second installment of National Geographic’s scripted anthology series. Filming is underway in Toronto.
The Hot Zone: Anthrax takes place in 2001, just weeks after 9/11, where another deadly act of terrorism rocked the United States. Letters containing anthrax were sent to unsuspecting victims in Florida, Washington, D.C. and New York. The anonymous assault claimed five lives and caused panic throughout the country. Despite interagency turf wars and many false leads, an unlikely team of scientists, FBI agents and government departments slowly closed in on a shocking prime suspect.
Colletti will play Agent Chris Moore, a newbie to the bureau with a dry sense of humor. A graduate of Quantico and is eager to learn under a seasoned agent,...

Spoiler Warning: This article reveals major plot points for tonight’s series finale of Preacher on AMC.
Preacher, on paper, seemed like a television pitch that didn’t have a prayer. The fact that Sunday night marked the end of the fourth and final season of the AMC series from executive producers Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) and Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg would qualify as a miracle if the show’s brimstone scent and penchant for the profane didn’t disqualify it from general competition.
For four seasons, the show followed the wild-eyed quest of Dominic Cooper’s Jesse Custer, the West Texas preacher with a grim job history. His entire flock in West Texas was flattened and killed when he became possessed by a supernatural entity (who turned out to be the offspring of an unnatural coupling...

Man, looking back at it, 2015 seems like an awfully long time ago now. Donald Trump wasn’t yet installed in the White House, the alt-right, though forever bubbling away, hadn’t been emboldened into action across the globe and we, here in the UK, weren’t yet divided by the madness of Brexit.
It was a simpler time indeed.
When I look back at 2015, I think of the good things and my favourite horror film of 2015? Ted Geoghegan’s debut feature, We Are Still Here, a slow-burning, mournful homage to Italian horror cinema of the 1970’s that lifts from what has gone before, while still feeling vital and fresh.

"There's something in these woods!" Dark Sky Films has debuted an official trailer for indie action thriller Mohawk, which premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival last year. From director Ted Geoghegan, the is about a badass, young Mohawk warrior who wages a one-woman war against bloodthirsty soldiers. Starring Canadian actress Kaniehtiio "Tiio" Horn (seen on Netflix's "Hemlock Grove") as Oak, who was raised on the Kahnawake Mohawk reserve in Quebec with her mother, Kahn-Tineta Horn, a Mohawk political activist who was once a '60s fashion model. Set late in the War of 1812, Oak and her two lovers battle a squad of American soldiers hell-bent on revenge after one of her tribe sets. Also starring Eamon Farren, Justin Rain, Ezra Buzzington, Noah Segan, Ian Colletti, Robert Longstreet, and Sheri Foster. This does look cool, though I'm not sure if the action is going to be great, this trailer doesn't have much.

There are a lot of things you can say that Preacher has done that not a lot of other shows can claim. It's shot off more penises than any other show on basic cable. It's a show with a vampire that isn't a show specifically about vampires. It's killed more people in three episodes this season than every Godfather movie combined. However, one of the weirdest things you can say about Preacher is that it's made Hitler into a likable character. Yes, Eugene, that Hitler.
In the world of Preacher, Hell is an interesting place. It's essentially a combination of solitary confinement in a modern-day prison mixed with a little bit of the paranormal waiting room in Beetlejuice.

Just into its second season, “Preacher” has been no stranger to tragedy. The AMC adaptation of the Garth Ennis comics series has touched on lost pregnancies, revisited parental abandonment and unleashed a citywide explosion that wiped away most of the first season’s recurring characters.
But Monday night’s episode, “Damsels,” may have seen the show at its most heart-wrenching. Watching a frightened Eugene attempt to replace the violently displaced brains of his high school crush Tracy Loach — and have the same shotgun be the source of Eugene’s infamous facial scar — was a twisted answer to one of the show’s biggest looming questions.
It’s a scene that Ian Colletti’s been preparing for, ever since getting the part. “As an actor, so much of your time is spent off camera in your preparation, meditating on your backstory and filling in the puzzle pieces. It’s very rare...
