There is a traditional view of a priest, and they purity they are meant to represent to the people who put their faith in them. What happens though when a priest begins to lose his faith, not only in the Church and God, but in himself? The Man Who Was Thursday is a movie that takes a look at that question, though it may come short of actually answering it.
When a priest (François Arnaud) gives in to sin, and has a fall from grace, he ends up in Rome with a chance of redemption. Going undercover to infiltrate an underworld group of anarchic renegades he finds himself being seduced by their mission against the Church. Taking the name of Thursday,...

When the wonderful Ms. Charlaine Harris sat down to scratch out the first lines of Dead Until Dark, the first of The Southern Vampire Mysteries that would go on to become the basis for HBO's series "True Blood," there's no way should could have known it was going to go on to become the mega-hit we know today.
However, that is exactly what happened. The book series is just now wrapping up after 13 novels, but "True Blood," the beloved television version of Sookie Stackhouse's adventures with all types of supernatural creatures, is still going strong. When we think back on the sizable cast of the show, we certainly remember some shocking death scenes. Although the show has had its share of peaks and valleys, it certainly never misses a chance to shock its loyal audience, and we recall some of those shocks in this look back at the Top 9 Most Shocking "True Blood" Death Scenes.

Meteora Trailer. Spiros Stathoulopoulos‘ Metéora (2012) movie trailer stars Theo Alexander and Tamila Koulieva-Karantinaki. Metéora‘s plot synopsis: “Meteora tells the story of an illicit affair between an orthodox catholic monk, played by Theo Alexander, and a nun, Russian actress Tamila Koulieva-Karantinaki, who live in monasteries divided by faith and a huge chasm.”
I love the visuals in this trailer.
More on Meteora:
The film screened in competition at Berlinale and by the few reviews currently available, the film is dreadfully slow with little dialogue and sequences which linger on the scenery with animal sounds the only reprieve. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it marks Stathoulopoulos’ film as a festival-only affair and even then, of limited appeal.
Watch the Meteora movie trailer and leave your thoughts on it below in the comments section. For more Meteora photos, videos, and information, visit our Meteora Page. Meteora has no Us theater release date yet.

HBO's True Blood has been Sunday night’s go-to guilty pleasure for several years running now. Mixing grisly feasting scenes and compelling mysteries with attractive, interesting characters and underlying gay/minority rights metaphors (i.e. “God hates fangs”), it’s not hard to see why. Here we have a show that combines the grit and elegance we’ve come to love and expect in our vampires with a down-home, relatable setting that offers us something new and intriguing as well. It gives you what you want. However, it keeps you guessing while it keeps you watching as well. It’s truly great television of a quality level that I don’t feel we see often enough anymore.

Bones creator Hart Hanson is developing a potential spin-off, Fox confirms with EW. As first reported by Deadline, it would revolve not around an existing character — fans, breathe! — but tracker Walter Sherman, the central figure in “The Locator” novels by Richard Greener. If all goes according to plan, Hanson will introduce Sherman in an episode Fox says he’ll shoot in early December for air next year. In the books, Sherman is a Vietnam vet, but in the Bones world, Sherman will be a former military policeman who served in Iraq with Booth (David Boreanaz). Just as Booth didn’t...

HollywoodNews.com: HBO’s “True Blood” will have its season finale on Sept. 12. I still have to watch my DVDs of season 2 before I catch up on the current season 3!
At least I know there is a lot to look forward to including Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) seducing then killing the character of Talbot (Theo Alexander).
Skarsgard tells EW that he and Alexander really wanted the scene to be powerful for viewers: “I’d never kissed a guy before on a show or in a movie, and that was Theo’s first time as well, and we talked about it. It goes from being this romantic, beautiful scene, and they’re getting rough with each other and getting it on — and [then] the turn where Eric just slaughters him. It’s such a rich scene. True Blood star Denis O'Hare has claimed that his character Russell is unpredictable. Speaking to Access Hollywood, O'Hare explained that the death of Talbot (Theo Alexander) has shaken Russell. "[With] Russell, it's never going to be an expected trajectory," he said. "He's not going to necessarily do what you would assume he would do. He has his own internal rhythm and... he kind of goes into hiding and mourning... It's kind of more him regrouping. He's kind of dealing with feelings." While we know now that Michael Steger won't be playing the gay character on '90210,' as Zap2it reported first, the actor gets his chance on Sunday's (August 22) episode of HBO's "True Blood."
Steger talked to us about what it was like playing someone who is the polar opposite of his character on The CW show.
"Navid is like the moral compass of the '90210' world," Steger tells Zap2it. "He's kind of like the voice of reason. In 'True Blood,' [I play] this dark character, who's trying to find himself and he has this messed up lifestyle. He's a runaway. He doesn't really have any friends. So, he's pretty much a loner."
Steger's character runs into Denis O'Hare's Russell Edgington, who is going nuts over Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) murdering his lover of 700 years, Talbot (Theo Alexander).
"I had a great time working with Denis," says Steger.

Apparently some citizens of Bon Temps will be saying, "I Smell a Rat" during the upcoming Episode 34 of HBO's "True Blood". Meanwhile, here at Dread Central we're saying, "I smell the end of the season", but to help ease our pain at there being only three eps remaining, the power-that-be have released a trio of preview clips for this week's installment.
Here's what we can expect from "I Smell a Rat":

Eric takes precautions and fulfills a wish; Arlene turns to Holly (Lauren Bowles) for help with a pressing problem; Jason deals with the unexpected, both with Tara and Crystal; Jessica is torn between Tommy and Hoyt. Call him a realist. Eric’s first act of taking on Russel seems to be planning for the worse, as you’ll see in this clip from next wee’ks episode of True Blood titled “I Smell a Rat.” Does True Blood’s original bad boy vampire stand a chance against this ancient foe? I can’t see Alan Ball letting go of Eric anytime in the near future.
Ep. 34: Clip – Pam questions Eric
In the next clip, we get a look at one of True Blood’s second season nemeses, The Fellowship of the Sun’s own Steve Newlin, capitalizing on Russel’s transgression.
Ep. 34: Clip – Jessica confronts Arlene And in the last clip, Tara and Jason clean up the mess they made last week. Not for the squemish.

The last episode of True Blood (TV) ended in a flurry of violence. Honestly, what episode doesn't have it's quota of blood, gore, and naked bodies? Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) staked Talbot (Theo Alexander), while Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) fed off the werewolves attacking Sookie (Anna Paquin) at her house. And then we were forced to endure yet another Sookie and Bill (Stephen Moyer) sex-fest while they gyrated around on the floor like a couple of canines in heat. Seriously, it took a week for me to scrub that image out of my brain (sorry Sookie/Bill lovers). Truth or consequence time. Actually it's more consequences with very little truth thrown into the mix. The Authority -- aka vampire department of justice -- has sent their spokeswoman, Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck) to Eric's bar to find out what's happened to the Magister. Eric tells Nan everything about his search for...

So it isn't so! Just three episodes remain of Season Three of "True Blood". Finally we're about to find out what Sookie is, but before we get to that, how about a little homage to poor Jerry McCafferty, whose body was so gloriously mutilated by Russell last night?

A sub-par and rather melodramatic episode until its final ten minutes, 3.08 went out with a bang.
That long-awaited bang, of course, was between Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer). But all that animalistic thrusting and broken furniture couldn't really make up for the silliness that kept them apart to begin with. Hopefully, that's the end of the "I love you so much that I have to protect you by letting you go" cliché plot which was never believable nor really interesting to begin with, given that we knew it had to end up with them shagging on the floor.
There certainly was quite a bit of bloody weeping in 3.08. Perhaps the most heartbreaking was Jessica's (Deborah Ann Woll) plea to Bill not to be left alone. This was followed by a Matrix-esque training session in which Bill taught Jessica how to be a werewolf slaying bad-ass. Hot.

How do you recover from a graphic vampire-on-vampire sex scene that ended with one nasty staking and screams that literally curdled blood? If you're actor Theo Alexander, you fly to Greece to unwind -- and edit the aforementioned sequence out of the bootlegged episode of True Blood you plan on screening for your mother. This morning, the Greek actor took a break from his two-week vacation to phone Movieline and discuss the sensual way he prepared for True sex, his fear of getting in touch with his "gay" side, and his character's 700-year romance with the King of Mississippi.

This week's episode of True Blood (TV) wasn't as impressive to me as last week's. Maybe that's because we're still in the middle of everyone's "plans" and nothing has been accomplished yet. Well, Tara (Rutina Wesley) gets to beat Franklin's (James Frain) head in, but who knows if that'll actually do anything to him or not. Probably just make him wail and moan some more when he wakes up. King Russell (Denis O'Hare) brings Sookie (Anna Paquin) back from Alcide's (Joe Manganiello), intent on having a little game of 20 questions with her. Bill (Stephen Moyer) is handed off to his melodramatic sire, Lorena (Marianna Klaveno), for punishment for betraying the King's trust. Both Bill and Sookie plead with Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) for help -- both begging him to save the other -- but coldly brushes them off, in favor of siding with Russell. Sookie thinks this is just an act for the King's sake,...

Oh the doldrums of summer TV. It is getting hard to find four good, reasonably equally matched candidates from different TV shows to run in our weekly Battle of the Network Gays
Thank goodness at least for True Blood which last Sunday gave some decent business to each of its four (count 'em Four!) gay characters. This show is like a supernatural Queer As Folk. All that's missing is a vampire Sharon Gless to hand out condoms, rainbow stickers, and vials of V.
Seriously though, it was hard choosing exactly which of the True Blood characters to put up for the network gays battle this time out, since any one of them would easily beat out lesser known basic cable reality show contestants.
When the winner is a foregone conclusion these contests just aren't much fun, so rather than running any one of these True Blood characters this week and...

Wherever Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) goes, trouble follows. And trouble usually has fangs, fur, or any combination of the two. Sunday's episode of True Blood (TV), finds our heroine still under the protective watch of the werewolf hottie, Alcide (Joe Manganiello), as they narrowly escape the rival wolf pack lair, where they watched his ex, Debbie (Brit Morgan) branded into the service of the King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare). Again I am amazed at the splendid casting this show has managed to procure. Nearly every roll is exactly cast buy an actor or actress who fits my imagination of the book characters. They hit a new level of awesome with casting Manganiello as Alcide. Anyway, Sookie wants Alcide to continue helping her get closer to the vampire who branded all those wolves in the club, but he wants to consult his "pack master," Colonel Flood (Grainger Hines) first.

Things are finally starting to come together this season just as everything continues to fall apart for Tara!
Last night on True Blood we got to see Sookie’s latest trick, a possible new vampire bride, and the continued emergence of Jessica as the Season 3 Mvp. That and more in our bite size recap.
Having spent last week’s episode bound and gagged in her bathroom Tara (Rutina Wesley) got a change of scenery — she was tied up to a bed at Russell’s (Denis O’Hare) plantation! Least she got in a road trip! Things Tara was also getting this week, marriage proposals! Franklin (James Frain), her captor/lover wants her as his vampire bride. He even offered to take her to Shoney’s for her last meal! Franklin on why he loves Tara: “She’s such a f**king disaster, we could be twins.” Awwwww! Bill (Stephen Moyer), no matter what his reasoning,...

***Warning*** This post discusses an upcoming plot point on HBO's True Blood.
Okay, this won't come as a surprise to fans of the books, but since I haven't actually read them yet, when I got the August episode descriptions from HBO, I had no idea what was in store for poor Talbot.
And even if I had known Talbot was going to die, given that Lafayette was supposed to be dead at the end of the first season, I still wouldn't have known about this particular death.
Talbot
Here are the episode descriptions with the info. Note: I'm only including the relevant info so as to not spoil anything else.
Episode #33: “Everything Is Broken”
A grief-stricken Russell vows revenge against his foes, vampire and human.
And then we have:
Episode #34: “I Smell a Rat”
After communing with Talbot (Theo Alexander), Russell promises to extract vengeance on his enemies.

Are you starting to salivate for the next episode of "True Blood" on Sunday? So are we and waiting sucks! Here are few stories that are helping us get over hump day!
HBO is shopping around reruns to commercial cable networks. That would be an easy sell for the network, but a few previously sold HBO shows didn't do very well in repeats at their new homes: "True Blood" creator Alan Ball's "Six Feet Under" for Bravo, "Entourage" for Spike, and "The Sopranos" for A&E. [Los Angeles Times]
The fact that "True Blood" broke the Emmy vampire curse and got nominated for outstanding drama series was good news for fans and HBO. The bad news is that one of its competitors is Showtime's "Dexter." Of course, we're rabid fans of both shows. Well, our pals at FEARnet did an "Emmy Death Match" pitting the two shows against each other. We won't ruin the ending for you,...

Season Three of Alan Ball's "True Blood" has been hot and heavy and loaded with surprises, and from the synopses released today by HBO for Episodes 31-35, it shows no signs of slowing down in the slightest.
Thanks go to The Ausiello Files on EW.com for the lowdown; just beware that spoilers abound in the summaries. Sadly, these episodes take us almost to the end of the season (it's short but sweet), and there's no mention of Franklin. I hope we haven't seen the last of him; he's my favorite new character so far!

New True Blood star Theo Alexander has confessed that it took "courage" to film love scenes for the show. Alexander, who is straight in real life, admitted to PaperMag that he considers shooting the scenes with other men an acting challenge. "A role like this is the fun of being an actor in that it takes courage and requires you to be brave." he explained. "And that, ultimately, helps you go forward into the work you do in the future." The Greek actor also revealed that his character Talbot was originally intended to be British. "They wanted a British actor but (more)...

There are several new fascinating characters in Season 3 of "True Blood." Possibly the most enigmatic character is also the one who is stirring the pot the most.
After all, Russell Edgington, Aka The Vampire King of Mississippi, has kidnapped Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and sent several other plots into motion.
Spoiler alert
"Russell had two very big secrets that paid great dividends for me as an actor," Denis O'Hare who plays Russell tells the New York Post. "I can't tell you what they are, but everyone is fueled by overarching motives - for respect, for affection, for food. Whatever drives you, is the same for vampires - they used to be human, so quite often they're motivated by their nascent human emotions."
So far, we know that Russell wants to marry Sophie-Anne (Evan Rachel Wood), The Vampire Queen of Louisiana, and unite their kingdoms. O'Hare says there's more to his...

Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) takes a bite out of crime... literally! The vampire hero tears a pack of hungry werewolves to pieces as they try to attack him. The defeated wolves begin shape shifting back into their human form as one yells out, "You bit off my ear!" Suddenly, a vampire comes in like a knight in shining armour. He is on a white horse and announces himself as Russell Edgington, the King of Mississippi. He apologizes for the werewolves' rude behavior and shoots one for good measure. Bill is commanded to ride with the King back to the mansion where he will stay as a guest. Russell's partner Talbot (Theo Alexander) welcomes Bill and shows him to his room. By this point Bill is curious as to why he is being forced to stay in a mansion, but the home owners are in no rush to tell him. Bill...

Denis O’Hare is a bit worried these days. It’s not his role HBO’s True Blood as Russell Edgington, the Vampire King of Mississippi, that has him troubled. Nor is it the fact True Blood is notorious for getting its actors both covered in blood and/or naked.
No, what has O'Hare worried is that thanks to Alan Ball’s hugely popular vampire drama, O’Hare’s life might be about to change drastically. While O’Hare has been acting for more than thirty years both on Broadway as well as on television and film, he’s managed to stay mostly anonymous by taking the sort of character parts that have made him recognizable to the public in a mostly vague “Say, don’t I know you?” sort of way.
But those days might be over for O’Hare as he’s now on a show squarely at...

After last week's frenetic pace, it was good to have a return to form with a more focused episode that was well-paced and funny. Anna Paquin continues to be ridiculously bad even as her co-stars hone their chops (though I must give tiny props for a chuckle over her Bill imitation). I don't know what those Golden Globe voters were thinking, but I hope they lay off the cheap champagne this year and award someone who can genuinely act. Hell, Kristen Bauer conveys more emotion just putting on lipstick in the ladies' room. Stephen Moyer's well-played amusement at Cooter's name had me giggling at the outset, Deborah Ann Woll is a joy to watch as she parades Jessica's rumbling emotions and Nelsan Ellis' Lafayette delivers the serious and deadpan both with natural ease. Is it just me who listens to Skarsgård's every syllable for a hint of his delicious accent?...

Theo Alexander has dropped hints about his role on True Blood. Alexander plays Talbot, the partner of Mississippi's vampire king Russell (Denis O'Hare). Speaking to the New York Post, Alexander explained that he worked out Talbot and Russell's history with O'Hare. "We met, we talked, we went to dinner," he said. "We had to create a 700-year history. It wasn't easy, but in order to be in love with someone on screen you have to really love them in real life. And Denis is very easy to fall in love with. He's a great guy and an amazing actor - I already admired him, so it wasn't that hard." However, Alexander added that Russell and Theo will have difficulties in their relationship. "I believe that when you love someone you fight because you feel completely," he explained. "Russell is also my maker, so it's (more)...

Oh yeah, don't forget, Bill was abducted before Sookie could ever say yes to his wedding proposal, but she's said yes in her heart, now she just needs to say it to him in person.

True Blood returns with its third season premiere tonight (read Jon's review) and E!Online has graciously provided four sneak peeks for our enjoyment.
True Blood kicks off its 12-episode third season Sunday, June 13 (9:00-10:00 p.m. Et/Pt), exclusively on HBO, followed by other new episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time. Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the show takes place in the not-too-distant future, when vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. The show follows the romance between waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, and her boyfriend, 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), who went missing at the end of season two last year, and is now the object of a frantic search. Hollywoodnews.com: There’s a slew of fresh faces in season 3 of “True Blood.”
So as not to get lost, here’s a rundown, courtesy of IO9.com.
Werewolves
Alcide Heveraux (Joe Manganiello). He’s been the most talked about werewolf character leading up to season 3. Who is Manganiello? He’s a 33-year old actor who has cut his teeth in acting, initially as Peter Parker’s (Tobey Maguire) nemesis Flash Thompson in “Spider-Man.” Also, Manganiello, played the best friend, Brad, to Jason Segel’s character in “How I Met Your Mother.” His alter-ego on “True Blood” is apparently the gentle werewolf who assists Sookie in her quest to find Bill. Apparently, he really gives her a tour of his hairy-moonlit world. Alcide also looks out for her. No word if a Bella-Jacob affair a la “Twilight” is in the works here. Alcide is also a member of the werewolf biker gang.

True Blood'S Cast Of ... Thousands?
I'm not sure how much overlap there is between Gleekers and fans of True Blood, but I'm certainly happy that just as Kurt and Company exit stage right we have Lafayette, Sookie and the rest of the gang from Bon Temps returning this week. We need something really buzzy on TV to write about, no? Trust me, it's not going to be Rookie Blue.
So what did I think after watching the first three episodes? For starters I never imagined Maryann would return and hook up with Lafayette. Kidding! There's no sign's of Maryann excepting all the missing memories folks have about those orgies, and as for Lafayette, he is still his fierce, fabulous self.
Actually, I can't say much lest director Alan Ball send one of the werewolves to shut me up, although if that werewolf were Alcide (Joe Manganiello, pictured right), I might not complain too much.

When "True Blood" returns to HBO on Sunday for the start of Season 3, the cast is expanding in many ways. A host of new gay characters are heading to town - like vampires Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) and Talbot (Theo Alexander) - and longtime show favorite, Lafayette Reynolds, is getting a love interest.
The Merlotte's cook and vampire blood pusher, played by Nelsan Ellis, is expected to find love with a mysterious nurse named Jesus, played by Kevin Alejandro, and Lafayette's portrayer couldn't be more thrilled.
"The person who's playing my love interest, I think makes me ...
