ABC’s Dr. Odyssey has added another actor to its ensemble in Who Is Erin Carter? star Sean Teale.
Teale will star opposite Joshua Jackson, Don Johnson and Phillipa Soo in the series, which comes from mega-producer Ryan Murphy and co-creators Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken. As has been the case with other casting, details about Teale’s role are being kept quiet.

Netflix’s Who Is Erin Carter? has cemented Evin Ahmad’s place in the international entertainment arena. She plays the lead, a British teacher in Barcelona, Spain, caught up in a robbery that threatens her new life, dragging her back to her past. Ahmad’s portrayal of Erin Carter in the British thriller series created by Jack Lothian might have exposed her to a vaster, global audience, but she has been around since the 2000s. She first gained mainstream recognition in Swedish cinema with roles in films that explored themes ranging from family violence to the plight of immigrants in Sweden. Before Who Is Erin...

It’s another summer, and we have another British thriller with the most English-sounding name in the title. Jokes aside, episode 1 of Who Is Erin Carter? seems to show some potential thrills and looks to be a decent thriller in this saturated genre. Evin Ahmad does a great job at playing the leading lady—a desperate mother and a badass. Ahmad keeps our attention through the 50-something-minute episode, and the first episode is action-packed. Although the show doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the table, it definitely doesn’t seem like a waste of time, and we’re hoping it gets better as it progresses. Let’s get straight into Who Is Erin Carter? episode 1.

Denmark’s Maja Jul Larsen has bested strong opposition to take this year’s Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize for Dr’s “Cry Wolf,” Larsen’s first series as a creator and lead-writer.
The win, announced at a Göteborg Festival TV Drama Vision award ceremony on Tuesday, goes to one of the rising stars on Denmark’s screenwriting scene who in a relatively short career – she graduated from Denmark’s National Film School in 2007 – has run an up an impressive curriculum working on “Borgen,” “Follow the Money” and “The Legacy.”
With limited series “Cry Wolf,” a family drama and procedural, she faced the large task of breathing life and a sense of entertainment into an eight-part series that works at times as an exposé of the rigidity and potential failing of Denmark’s social welfare system.

In today’s Global Bulletin, the BBC announced more than 500 complaints about a Black Lives Matter tribute during this year’s New Year’s Eve fireworks; Lux Vide and Arrow Pictures make key appointments; the Nordisk Film & TV Fond announces this year’s prize jury and Mark Lazarus is named as this year’s NATPE opening keynote speaker.
New Years Eve
The BBC started 2021 with a televised bang as it took London’s annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display, traditionally held at the London Eye but reformatted for a TV audience this year in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, to the airwaves. The night didn’t pass without controversy however, as the broadcaster received 500 complaints from angry armchair warriors who were unhappy about a reference to the Black Lives Matter movement.
As fireworks were launched, LED-lit drones flew nearby and formed iconic images from the past year including...

"You are capable of anything." Cohen Media Group has debuted the official Us trailer for the indie Girls of the Sun, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year in-competition. The film is inspired by and loosely based on the story of the late journalist Marie Colvin (who already had a film made about her - A Private War). In Girls of the Sun, a French war journalist named Mathilde H. (basically Marie) meets an all-female squadron of rebel fighters known as the "Girls of the Sun", lead by their fierce leader Bahar, played by the always-exceptional Golshifteh Farahani. They plan a counter-attack in order to regain control over their nearly-destroyed city. Co-starring Emmanuelle Bercot as Mathilde, with Zübeyde Bulut, Sinama Alievi, Mari Semidovi, Roza Mirzoiani, Zinaida Gasoiani, Maia Shamoevi, Nia Mirianashvili, and Evin Ahmad. This is an intense, gripping thriller that once again shows just how horrible war really is.
