- Born and raised in California, Steve Byers started his carreer in the music business in the late 1960s as the lead vocalist in several bands. Since the 1980s, he has been writing/producing his own original songs, often performing instruments and vocals himself in the studio recordings. He had his breakthrough on national TV with a song on Episode #25.31 (1982) on ABC. His stylistic "trademark" is a very authentic 1950s/60s style sound.
