Last year, Ashley Greene (the Twilight saga) and Shawn Ashmore (Adam Green’s Frozen) shared the screen in the Netflix-released thriller Aftermath. Now Deadline reports that Greene and Ashmore have been reunited on the set of the supernatural horror film It Feeds, which is currently in production.
It Feeds will tell the story of a young girl who insists that a malevolent entity is feeding on her. Greene’s character is “a clairvoyant therapist who must confront her own personal demons to save the girl before she is taken completely.” Ashmore is playing “the anguished father, desperately struggling to protect his daughter.”
Deadline doesn’t name the director of It Feeds or the screenwriter, but they do mention that this film is the first in what is planned to be a ten-film slate of genre projects that’s coming our way from Productivity Media Inc and Black Fawn Films.

Alexandra Keddie, Drew Weston and Gemma Bird Matheson in ‘The Housemate.’
Frustrated with the scarcity of job offers, two years ago young actors Gemma Bird Matheson and Alexandra Keddie decided to launch their own production company, Chips & Gravy Films.
Their maiden production was The Housemate, an affectionate take on The Bachelor. They spent several thousand dollars of their own money to make a 4-minute teaser, in which they played friends who are searching for the housemate of their dreams, posted it online and got 260,000 views in the first week.
So they sent the teaser to Rick Kalowski, then the ABC’s head of comedy, who called them within 30 minutes and quickly commissioned a series of 6 x 5′ episodes for iview.
Since then the duo have created four or five projects which are in development with Screen Australia, while Matheson also performs in plays (currently the Griffin Theatre Company’s Superheroes...

We have a number of behind the scenes images from the upcoming horror comedy Vicious Fun. This is the next film from the Black Fawn crew, directed by Cody Calahan and written by James Villeneuve. Calahan produced with Chad Archibald. The team shot just over the way in Hamilton, Ontario. It is a change of pace for the lads from Black Fawn, moving into horror comedy territory, so it will be interesting to see them bring the funny to their brand of horror cinema. We have a series of behind the scenes photos below. American comedy fixture David Koechner features prominantly in the gallery and there appears to be a rather chilly looking Julian Richings in a freezer. Good times. Vicious Fun...

Director: Chad Archibald. Writer: Jayme Laforest. Cast: Aidan Devine, Ava Preston, Jess Salgueiro, Michael Reventar and Ari Millen. I'll Take Your Dead is the latest horror film from director Chad Archibald and his production house Black Fawn Films. Also developed by Breakthrough Entertainment and writer Jayme Laforest, I'll Take Your Dead could only have been shot in the snowy climes of Ontario. One part gangster thriller and one part ghost story, I'll Take Your Dead begins with a father - trying to protect his daughter. His work of choice is dissolving bodies, for the local gangbangers. Not much later, Act II slows the film's plot development, while supernatural elements waver in and out of the film. Overall, I'll Take Your Dead is a decent thriller, which requires a bit of patience. The ghost story elements begin with a robbery. But, what are the rules for ghosts entering or exiting scenes and being seen?...

Part crime thriller and part ghost story, I’ll Take Your Dead is like a Joe Lansdale novel that’s occasionally interrupted by Lucio Fulci. It’s the latest Shout! Aidan Devine plays William, a reclusive farmer known among the criminal community as The Candy Butcher because he moonlights as a disposer of bodies, cutting them up into pieces and dissolving them in an acid bath. His young daughter, Gloria (Ava Preston), having grown up around death her entire life, sees the ghosts of her father’s “work” around the house. When a group of killers drop off a body that isn’t what they think it is, William and Gloria have their quiet life turned upside down, possibly for good.

"She's seen so much death here..." Scream Factory has debuted an official trailer for the indie horror thriller I'll Take Your Dead, the latest film from Canadian horror filmmaker Chad Archibald. This originally premiered at two Canadian film festivals last year - Calgary and Toronto After Dark - and is getting a limited release in May. The concept for I'll Take Your Dead is pretty twisted - a guy who cleans up dead bodies at a farm house gets one dumped there. But this woman isn't actually dead, and so patches and locks her up until he can figure out what to do. The two begin to develop a very unusual respect for each other, but the killers come back to finish the job. Aidan Devine stars, with Ava Preston, Jess Salgueiro, Brandon McKnight, and Ari Millen. Looks like this has some creepy twists and turns. Here's the official trailer...

William has a career of making deceased bodies disappear. It's a macabre job, but with violence all around him, someone has to do it. One day, William finds that one of the bodies in his possession isn't quite deceased, and that's only the beginning of his problems in the trailer for I'll Take Your Dead, the latest movie from Chad Archibald (Bite) that's coming to theaters and VOD on May 3rd from Shout! Director Chad Archibald first came to my attention with the slasher that isn’t half as popular as it should be, The Drownsman (it could easily be an ongoing franchise). He followed that up with the intriguing Ejecta and then the gross-out body horror of Bite. The Heretics is the latest offering from a director that is not afraid to shake things up.
The Heretics takes what is a simple story of a woman being kidnapped and turns it completely on its head. What we also get are cults, suicides, crazy girlfriends and some sort of demon. That’s quite a lot to pack into an hour and twenty five minutes. But pack it in it does and the time flies by… Pretty much jumping straight into...

Chad Archibald's new film I'll Take Your Dead will have its world premiere at the Calgary International Film Festival on Thursday. The first trailer was released today. You will find it below. While all of his previous films have more or less be straight on horror flicks Archibald and Black Fawn appear to have taken all that experience and have worked it into a crime thriller narrative. That is at least interesting because grounding any horror in a scenario that is more relatable to an audience - gang violence versus say, once in a lifetime cult shindigs and demigod ressurections - should make it challenging to disassociate the horror and wave it off as fantasy. Have a look for yourself. Breakthrough Entertainment...

Usually known for turning out horror films at a rapid pace, seemingly two per year, our friends at Black Fawn Films were not the first people to come to mind when anyone mentioned the word slacker. However, its been a number of months since any word has come from them since their last film The Heretics hit the festival circuit and had a short release in the Fall. I thought I was prepared. I had talked with director Chad Archibald about this upcoming creative sabbatical. I knew it was coming. I knew that the Black Fawn crew wanted to take things slow and take more time to focus on the next project. Still, not having anything to report about the crew and a project...

*full disclosure: an online screener was provided by the film's pr' firm. Direct: Chad Archibald. Writer: Jayme Laforest. Cast: Nina Kiri, Ry Barret, Jorja Cadence, Nina Richmond and Will King. Black Fawn Films is likely the biggest Canadian indie horror film producer. This film company has completed at least eight titles, in just a few years. Their latest is titled The Heretics and it was written by Jayme Laforest, who also wrote 2015's Bite. Both films deal with body horror and a female protagonist. This title incorporates one of the worst sex scenes, in recent film history. Always say no to demon sex, no matter how attractive the offer is. The story, within the film, deals with the birth of a demon - Abaddon and his desire to end the world. Similar to Jon Knautz's The Shrine (2011), characters are overcome through possession. In The Heretics, this reduces the protagonist's ability to resist evil.
