Julien P. Bourgon
- Executive
- Producer
Educated at the ESRA Cinema School in Paris, Julien started his film career as a sound mixer and designer working with major French directors and producers. Julien worked on a variety of successful projects including the award-winning film "Paris," directed by Cedric Klapisch; the famed feature comedy "La Verite Si Je Mens" directed by Thomas Gilou and the acclaimed television series, "Maupassant," directed by Claude Chabrol.
In 2007, after 10 years of working with top producers and directors, Julien decided to employ his experience in all facets of film production to take the next step in his career. To that end Mr. Bourgon co-founded LUXART, a post-production company in Paris. This entrepreneurial spirit and determination would serve him well when he joined a successful team of producers and industry professionals to launch a new company.
In 2010, Julien and his partners set out to create and build an Independent Film company which would offer their clients the freedom to produce film and television projects they believed in. TDP Films was born and Julien became the company's Managing Partner.
As a full service Production and Post-Production enterprise powered by an International team of experienced professionals, TDP gained a reputation for producing top quality work on time and on budget. Once established as a premiere independent International Production House, TDP successfully expanded their brand and is now producing several films as lead company through worldwide co-productions.
TDP's success continues to grow and now has offices and partners around the globe, including Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Prague and Shanghai.
Still pursuing a successful career in Europe, Julien decided it was time to expand his professional horizons and moved to Los Angeles in 2013. The move proved successful and he quickly found himself working on several popular American film and television projects.
Julien is dedicated to the promotion and integrity of the film industry. In 2009, he was Co-founder and named Secretary General of the Association Française du Son à l'Image (AFSI). Like its American counterparts, CAS (Cinema Audio Society) and MPSE (Motion Picture Sound Editors), ASFI is a French-based organization that promotes and communicates the importance of the creative and technical contribution of sound professionals in film, audiovisual production and related media.
Julien, who has dual American and French citizenship, lives in West Hollywood, CA with his family.
