Melissa McCarthy was hilarious in and pretty much every other movie she’s been in (not to mention Sean Spicer on SNL), but she’s taking her talents in a different direction this fall. We’ve heard that she has been working on a new project. The funny lady is trying her hand at producing and may even star in a 1970s era project about the first female police officers in the Boston area. Here is what we know about her latest venture so far. Novel based Author Alexandra Lydon has written a book that details true stories of the first women police...

Jason Blum’s new label, Bh Tilt, is wasting no time in rolling out eagerly anticipated genre titles that have been stuck in picture purgatory. Today, less than a month after Bh Tilt launched, the banner made three titles available on Digital HD: Joe Johnston’s Not Safe for Work, the Chandler Riggs-starring Mercy, and Bryan Bertino’s Mockingbird, and the latter two have released trailers to go with their debuts.
The first movie from writer/director Bryan Bertino since 2008’s The Strangers, Mockingbird will be released on Blu-ray and DVD only at Walmart on October 21st, in addition to its current availability on Digital HD. In Mockingbird, “three individuals each receive an anonymous, unmarked video camera and a horrific ultimatum to continue filming… or die. Experience the terror through the eyes of these unsuspecting victims, with a chain of found-footage events so real and absolutely dreadful, you’ll...

We first heard of The Strangers director Bryan Bertino‘s Mockingbird back in November, and THR is now reporting on the lead for the Paranormal Activity-esque thriller: Todd Stashwick. Audrey Marie Anderson and Alexa Lydon have also been pegged for roles.
Formerly known as Red Balloons, the found footage picture “tells the story of a couple who are given a camera and a set of instructions. They must carry out what’s on the document or someone will die.” Stashwick will play the husband, with Anderson as his spouse; we’re not really sure who Lydon will play as of yet. I can see the correlation with Activity, but I’m also feeling a little bit of Saw as well.
Stashwick has played several roles on various TV show including House, CSI: Miami, Burn Notice as well as FX’s Justified. He’ll be seen next in Stephen Gyllenhaal‘s Grassroots,...
