Fans lauded Zack Snyder’s 2007 historical epic film 300, but despite it being a masterpiece to many, one fan managed to point out a massive plot hole that’s been there yet no one has talked about. Was it really a plot hole, or was it one of the director’s deliberate ways to exhibit the real intention of the movie?

Ready your breakfast and eat hardy, for tonight we dine on 300 news! For anyone who's long hoped for more stories in the world of the Spartans (with lashings of comic book style), there's a promising update. According to Variety, a TV adaptation of the Zack Snyder historical epic – itself an adaptation of the legendary Frank Miller's graphic novel – is in early development at Warner Bros. Television. And what's more, Snyder – who directed and co-wrote the 2006 film – is in talks to helm the project.
In terms of plot details for the series, news is there is no news – Wbtv is keeping its cards close to their chest at present. But early word is that the series will serve as a prequel of some sort to the hyper-stylised film, which recounted the tale of how fearless leader Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his army of 300 Spartans held back thousands (possibly millions) of...

Superman is set to be the first major installment of James Gunn’s new and improved Dcu. However, it seems that the shadow of the Dceu is never going to stop haunting WB, as Snyder’s version of the DC Mythos still seems to be the benchmark for a whole section of the fandom that the new Dcu is going to be measured against.

Despite all the efforts being taken to create a new cohesive universe that could bring fans a brilliantly shared continuity across multiple films, there seems to be a lot of criticisms that are being levied at the film without even a proper trailer or even a teaser. The Dcu seems to be unable to escape the shadow of the Dceu, as a slew of fans have found yet another aspect of James Gunn’s version of Superman to critique.

We have already written about Zack Snyder here on Fiction Horizon, and the overall conclusion, however you look at it, is that he is a divisive figure in the industry, even among fans. But, if there is one thing that fans agree about related to Zack Snyder is that his movie 300 was a masterpiece. Although the critics gave it mixed reviews, the fans almost unanimously love 300, and it is a movie that has withstood the test of time, remaining a popular work among fans of comic book adaptations. It has been years since we last explored that universe, but it seems that Warner Bros. is looking at all possible angles with its assets, so we can confirm that a 300 prequel television series is currently being developed at Warner Bros.

Earlier this week, social media scooper @MyTimeToShineH claimed that a 300 TV series is in development. Now, the news has been confirmed by Variety, with the trade explaining that it's still in the "early" stages right now.
It sounds like Warner Bros. Television is still figuring out the creative direction of the show as no writer or platform is currently attached (Max is surely the most likely destination). However, the plan is for this to be a prequel to the 2006 movie directed by Zack Snyder.
Talking of the Man of Steel and Rebel Moon filmmaker, Snyder is said to be in talks to direct and executive produce the 300 prequel, marking his first return to the world of comic books since 2021's Justice League Snyder Cut.
Deborah Snyder, who also executive produced 300, would return in the same role alongside Stone Quarry's Wesley Coller. Fellow 300 producers Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, and Bernie Goldmann...

Filmmaker Joss Whedon has worked on several iconic films and television shows that have become an inseparable part of modern pop culture. Bad sequels are far from a rarity, as there have been numerous instances where a sequel fails to recapture the original’s spirit, and Wonder Woman 1984 is no exception. Despite dropping the ball hard with the main conflict between Batman and Superman, Dawn of Justice did succeed in doing Diana Prince’s introduction to the Dceu justice.
Moreover, this was followed by arguably the best film in the Dceu, Wonder Woman, which made waves upon its release, making Gal Gadot one of the biggest names in the business. Unfortunately, the sequel failed to live up to its universally acclaimed predecessor, and its weak antagonist isn’t the lone aspect that contributed to it.

Throughout its run, the Dceu had a major villain problem, whether it be Steppenwolf in the theatrical version of Justice League or Enchantress in Suicide Squad.

Following the revelation that James Gunn & Peter Safran would be leading the Dceu in a completely new direction, a certain fan base persevered until the very end and held onto a glimmer of hope for a franchise that had already vanished. Yeah, we are referring to the DC fans who have taken to social media to unite behind the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse. And it was all due to Warner Studios’ extreme mishandling of Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie, which led to its total destruction.

Writer, director, and producer Zack Snyder has become forever entwined with comic book cinema, with many devoted fans knowing him best for his work with the DC universe, but once upon a time he directed a very different kind of comic book movie. Nearly 20 years ago, back in 2006, a little movie called "300" blew everyone's minds and kicked itself into the pop culture consciousness, teaching us all about the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, where King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his 300 Spartans held off a massive Persian army under King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro). Sure, it wasn't super historically accurate because it was based on the graphic novel by "Sin City" artist and scribe Frank Miller (with colors by Lynn Varley), but it was impossibly cool. It inspired all kinds of tributes and spoofs and even a spin-off film, "300: Rise of an Empire," which showed the naval side of the battle,...

A “300” TV series adaptation is in early development at Warner Bros. Television, Variety has learned from sources.
Exact plot details are still being worked out, but sources say that the show would serve as a prequel to the 2006 film. No writer or platform is currently attached to the project.
Deals are still being negotiated, but Zack Snyder, who directed and co-wrote “300,” is in talks to direct and executive produce the series. Deborah Snyder, who executive produced “300,” would also return as an executive producer under her and Zack’s Stone Quarry production banner, with Stone Quarry’s Wesley Coller also on board. Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, and Bernie Goldmann — all of whom were producers on the film — are likewise in talks to return.
Reps for Wbtv declined to comment.

“The Apprentice,” a scathing portrait of a young Donald Trump, dominated the Cannes Film Festival, scoring with critics, sparking an eight-minute standing ovation and prompting a fiery response from the 45th president’s legal team.

Sources close to the dealmaking say there are several potential buyers in the mix representing both theatrical distributors and streamers, and new offers continue to trickle in. MCU has had it’s up and downs in the last couple of years, but despite that, it’s still the most successful franchise of all times. What started out as a single movie released in 2008 over the course of 16 years grew into the largest cinematic universe to date which includes both live-action movies, and TV Shows.
Despite this impressive track record, it’s become sort of a trend among high-profile directors to criticize the MCU and superhero movies in general. Some of the biggest names in the industry like Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and Francis Ford Coppola mocked the premises and the executions, lauding that superhero movies are no true cinema.
5 years, ago Martin Scorsese one of the most critically acclaimed directors of all time decided to fire a couple of shots at the genre, saying that he didn’t see them as cinema.

Snyder fans loved his characters above all others but many DC fans pointed out the lack of comical accuracy in the Rebel Moon director’s projects. Despite being fired as X-Men '97 showrunner (the details are still sketchy) shortly before the series premiered on Disney+, Beau DeMayo has remained active on social media, sharing intriguing insights into the development of the animated revival show and revealing some of his key influences.
DeMayo has previously explained how the iconic "Superman takes flight" sequence from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel inspired a similar moment from episode 6 featuring Storm regaining her powers, and has now revealed that a different scene may have "subconsciously influenced" Rogue attacking the villainous Bastion in the recent season finale.

Could you turn down the exciting idea of George Miller, known for his mythological prowess, breathing new life into Chris Hemsworth’s Thor franchise? After the rollercoaster of feelings that Thor 4 elicited, the audience’s appetite for richness and depth in storytelling stands at an all-time high. Miller’s approach resonates well beyond the box office; his canceled Justice League project, still a lament among superhero aficionados, serves as proof of the vision that could have reinvented DC’s pantheon.

With all of its growing popularity among the world’s viewers, Netflix is still not having the best times right now as its biggest premieres turned out to be the streaming’s biggest disasters ever seen.
It all started even back in 2023, when Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire hit the platform in December, and now it seems like Netflix’s highly anticipated flicks are jeopardized by the epic space opera franchise’s curse.
Though Snyder’s flops sank into oblivion as soon as they left the streaming’s top 10 chart, their fate is nonetheless repeated by a brand new sci-fi movie that, despite its reign in the top chart, appears to be even worse.

Call of Duty: World at War, a 2008 Treyarch release, debuted two years prior to the popular Black Ops. This game was set in World War II and featured several popular characters in different battles. The remarkable original Modern Warfare paved the way for the release of the game.
One of the game’s developers has confirmed a discarded idea that would have been a very controversial scenario to include in the title. Jessy Snyder, the inventor of the zombie mode in the franchise, described this particular mission, which involved Normandy Beach, from a German perspective.

We've been hearing whispers about a potential small-screen 300 spin-off for years, and it seems a series may finally be moving forward - but it more than likely will not be based on Frank Miller's graphic novel or the movie adaptations that followed.
According to scooper Mttsh, a "300 TV series is officially in development."
We don't have any more to go on for now, but THR recently reported that Zack Snyder, who helmed the 2006 movie, had regained the rights to Blood and Ashes, which was originally pitched to Warner Bros. as a follow-up to 300 and its sequel, Rise of an Empire.
The story, which Snyder began writing while working on Army of the Dead, moves away from the Spartans to focus on the relationship between Alexander the Great and his second in command, Haphaestion.
“We got the rights back so we can make if we want it,” Snyder told the trade in a 2023 interview.

Call of Duty continues to be one of the most successful gaming franchises year to year. Despite Modern Warfare III’s not-so-great reception from fans and critics, the upcoming Black Ops 6 is still an exciting release for later this year.
With Treyarch returning as lead developer, let’s look back at the first game to put them on the map as community favorites: World at War. Fans still enjoyed going back to 2007’s Modern Warfare but that game brought in a different feel for the multiplayer. In addition, the well-known co-op mode, Zombies, quickly became a staple for the franchise.

In an old blog post that revealed several discarded ideas for Call of Duty: World at War, the creator of the zombie mode, Jesse Snyder, talked about features that did not end up in this game. This 2008 game was among the first to introduce the popular zombie feature, which will also hopefully be present in the upcoming Treyarch game, Black Ops 6.
Snyder also shared how a particular item was not in the final version of the zombie mode; he said that a tea kettle was a possible item for this mode. This was mainly due to ending the game quickly without thinking of better ideas.

James Wan's recent sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, marked the end of what came to be known as the Dceu era, and as we head towards James Gunn and Peter Safran's Dcu relaunch, we've decided to rank all 15 movies in the franchise.
Warner Bros.' attempt to establish a shared movie universe in the same vein as The MCU began with Man of Steel in 2013, and despite some bright spots and box office successes along the way, most would agree that it never really took flight - at least not to the level DC fans were hoping for.

According to rumors, James Gunn will make Green Arrow a part of his Justice League team in the Dcu. The character has a decent fanbase, thanks to Stephen Amell’s eight-season run as Oliver Queen in The CW show, Arrow. Earlier, Zack Snyder tried to include the character in the Dceu, with another actor considered for the role, but it didn’t ultimately work out. Interestingly, rumors also suggest that Dcu will make Black Canary his partner.

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is hitting back following the premiere of the controversial film “The Apprentice,” which chronicles the 2024 presidential candidate’s early years as a real estate developer.
“We will be filing a lawsuit to address the blatantly false assertions from these pretend filmmakers,” the Trump campaign’s chief spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement to Variety. “This garbage is pure fiction which sensationalizes lies that have been long debunked. As with the illegal Biden Trials, this is election interference by Hollywood elites, who know that President Trump will retake the White House and beat their candidate of choice because nothing they have done has worked.”
Cheung’s statement continues, “This ‘film’ is pure malicious defamation, should not see the light of day, and doesn’t even deserve a place in the straight-to-dvd section of a bargain bin at a soon-to-be-closed discount movie store, it belongs in a dumpster fire.

Of all the various actors who've made their mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sebastian Stan might be the one who's chosen the most interesting career path upon stepping outside of the superhero limelight. Stan hasn't exactly shied away from some of the more challenging and, occasionally, downright controversial roles out there, arguably beginning this little streak of sorts with director Craig Gillespie's "I, Tonya" in 2017. He followed this up with a supporting turn in Karyn Kusama's brutal "Destroyer," the bizarre horror/comedy "Fresh" (let's just say that movie packs a bite), and, of course, his Emmy-nominated performance as Tommy Lee in "Pam & Tommy," the Pamela Anderson-centric Hulu miniseries that stirred up no headlines whatsoever.
Not content to rest on his laurels, Stan promptly went and attached himself to a role that likely gave his agent no shortage of heart palpitations: a movie about Donald Trump's rise to infamy.

George Clooney has been many things in his career, an Oscar-winning actor and producer, a nominated director, and a humanitarian. However, one thing he could not pull off was being a successful Batman. While he was perfect on paper for the role of the vigilante, the odds were stacked against him as he was cast in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin.
The film has received extremely negative reviews and led to the reboot of the franchise with Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. However, the actor seems to have found one fan in Josh Brolin, who played Cable in Deadpool 2 and Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Zack Snyder spoke with GQ and extensively discussed Superman’s narrative in the once-promising Dceu franchise.

During his DC reign, Zack Snyder’s rather abrupt departure left many questioning if he’d ever return. Despite whispers of unfinished business, Snyder declared that the chapter was closed. Yet, amidst the uncertainty, it seems that one thread persists, the siren call of The Dark Knight Returns. The tale resonates with Snyder so much that he is ready to jump back in to adapt this to the big screens if DC ever calls him up.
