"Don't try anything stupid, it's too dangerous!!" He's going in anyway, his family is in there. Saban Films + Well Go Ent. have revealed the official US trailer for a movie titled Last Resort, an action revenge thriller formerly known as Ultima Ratio. The film lands in theaters in January just after the New Year, if anyone is looking for some action to kick them in the ass in early January. Last Resort follows a former special forces soldier who becomes a one-man army when his wife and daughter are taken hostage during a bank robbery. It's a bit like John Wick but with a bank heist, and oddly some chemical weapon that he must also prevent from leaking while saving his family. Jon Foo stars with Clayton Norcross, Julaluck Ismalone, Armin Parvin, and Angelina Ismalone. The plot in this looks painfully derivative but all the brutal action might be entertaining at least.

It’s been 11 long years since the fastest hands in the east crossed paths with the loudest mouth in the west, but it seems Rush Hour mainstay Chris Tucker (Detective James Carter) is still pushing for a fourth movie with Jackie Chan.
Neither Tucker nor Chan were actively involved in the Rush Hour TV series, so it’s small wonder why fans are gleefully anticipating their next big-screen appearance. That, and the fact that CBS pulled the plug on its ho-hum Rush Hour spinoff after just one season, proving that, when it comes to loud-mouth cops and kick-ass special agents, there’s really no one better than Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan – no disrespect to Justin Hires (Carter) and Jon Foo (Lee), of course. And don’t get me started on their near-effortless chemistry.

CBS is developing a drama series based on the DC Comics property “Secret Six,” Variety has learned.
The project, which has received a pilot production commitment at the network, follows six morally ambiguous strangers, each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts. They are brought together by an enigmatic figure who blackmails them into working as a team to expose the corruption of the corporate and political elite.
Various DC Comics characters have been members of the Secret Six over the years, including Bane, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, the Mad Hatter, and the Penguin. There is no word yet, however, on which characters would appear in the series.
Rick Muirragui will write and executive produce, with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold executive producing via Doozer Productions. Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer is under an overall deal, will produce.

It’s going on 20 years since New Line Cinema first paired the fastest hands in the east with the biggest mouth in the west, and though a spinoff TV series failed to find its feet, series stalwart Chris Tucker has revealed that Rush Hour 4 is not off the table.

The Rush Hour movies brought in a lot of money at the box office years ago but movies being translated into television series have had mixed success in the ratings. Will the Rush Hour TV show be a hit or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
An action comedy series, Rush Hour follows a maverick Lapd detective (Justin Hires) and a by-the-book detective from Hong Kong (Jon Foo) who knock heads when they are forced to partner together to fight crime. The rest of the cast includes Wendie Malick, Aimee Garcia, and Page Kennedy.
The higher a show's ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available -- typically around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.

Freshman drama Rush Hour won’t be returning to CBS for a sophomore run, after the network confirmed plans to quietly cancel the action spinoff after its inaugural season.
Initially pitched as a reimagining of the feature film series of the same name – which began life in 1997, starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan – CBS’ small-screen rendition of Rush Hour struggled to garner any sense of momentum since it first debuted earlier in 2016. It’ll continue airing until the end of the season, where Justin Hires and Jon Foo play the parts of Detective James Carter and Chief Inspector Lee, respectively.
Alas, middling reviews and low ratings effectively sealed the network’s decision, and it’s understood CBS had been shopping around the series in an attempt to find a home prior to today’s cancellation. It appears that Rush Hour‘s fate has been sealed though and, after just a brief spell on TV,...

Justin Hires, one of the stars of the CBS adaptation of “Rush Hour,” admits that he and co-star Jon Foo can’t be exact copies of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, but their chemistry is undeniable. “Jon is a natural introvert and I’m a natural extrovert,” Hires told TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell. “That was the same way the movie was with Chris and Jackie. And I think it really shows onscreen. We’re that perfect yin and yang.” And while the pilot episode pays homage to the original 1998 movie, once the series gets rolling it will morph into its own animal entirely.

On the heels of setting a premiere date for its TV revival of Rush Hour (March 31), CBS has rolled out the show’s first action-packed trailer, and it’s one that dances to an old tune.
Starring Justin Hires and Jon Foo as Detective James Carter and Chief Inspector Lee, respectively, fans of the dormant movie franchise will recognize many of the scenes included in today’s snippet, and while Hires plays the arrogant, cocksure detective relatively well, we’re apprehensive that the series won’t bring anything new to the table. Of course, that’s just based on one overlong trailer, and there is certainly a budding chemistry ready to blossom between the core duo of Hires and Foo. But can they possibly top that of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan? And more importantly, will they sing Edwin Starr’s “War” out of tune? We can only hope.

The first trailer has arrived for CBS' "Rush Hour," the TV series reboot of the Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker action comedy series. John Foo and Justin Hires take on the role of the Hong Kong detective and fast-talking Los Angeles cop respectively who are reluctantly partnered to take down dangerous criminals.
The original film's director Brett Ratner and "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence are producing with Jon Turteltaub ("National Treasure") helming the pilot. The trailer unfortunately is just not good, the casting in particular doesn't seem great while the trailer itself has a derivative feel. Hopefully it's only a bad promo, but we'll find out for ourselves when the series premieres March 31st.

As you might've gleaned from our 25 Most Anticipated New TV Shows Of 2016 feature, there is wealth of small-screen fare coming across the next 12 months. Granted, the premise is a bit hokey; indeed, even the first moments of the trailer are a bit ridiculous. Videogames… They’ve not had the best of luck when it comes to translating themselves from game to movie. Especially when adapted into live-action movies. You end up with films like Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead, Bloodrayne, Doom and 2007′s Hitman. But they’re not all bad… Mortal Kombat kicked plenty of on-screen arse and garnered many a film fan’s love thanks to a plot that didn’t mes around with the source material or with inconsequential new storylines and characters. The Resident Evil franchise has at least managed to find a fanbase and continuing budgets to keep going even in the face of derision from non-gamers and gamers alike. And the...

This will be at least the 3rd cop movie with a black lead that CBS has considered turning into a weekly TV series - "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Rush Hour" are the other 2. Of course we know that the network would eventually pass on the "Beverly Hills Cop" TV series which was to star Brandon T. Jackson as Axel Foley's son (although a pilot was produced); the "Rush Hour" series, on the other hand, was ordered to series this year, as a mid-season replacement in early 2016. Jon Foo and Justin Hires are replacing Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in the roles of Lee and Carter from the original movie franchise. The network (maybe the *whitest* of...

I’m a huge Chris Tucker fan. Always have been.
From his scene-stealing performance in The Fifth Element, to Russell Simmons’ HBO Def Comedy Jam and 1995’s Friday opposite Ice Cube, starring in Money Talks with Charlie Sheen, through to his role in Silver Linings Playbook, Tucker is forever a pleasure to watch and is still one of the funniest comedians.
I was thrilled to read that the actor would be headlining his first full length stand-up comedy special titled “Chris Tucker Live” which had its premiere on Friday, July 10 on Netflix. It is one of the funniest stand-up shows to come along in years.
In the hilarious show, Chris Tucker returns to the stage he loves and showcases his mind-blowing comedic chops. From his pitch perfect impersonations of Michael Jackson and Bill Clinton, his take on first dates and marriage, visiting Oprah Winfrey’s house, to his singular on-stage physicality,...

CBS is clearly saving the first images of Kara Zor-El in motion for the "Supergirl" trailer premiering during the network's upfront presentation on Wednesday (May 13) afternoon, but we finally have our first normal images from the buzz-y pilot. It turns out that glasses are as effective at disguising Kara as they are at obfuscating Clark Kent's identity. And it turns out that Kara's boss, Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant appears to be a very busy woman. CBS announced its full schedule on Wednesday morning and also dropped a handful of pictures from its new shows. You have Justin Hires and Jon Foo getting their respective Chris Tucker and Jackie Chans on in pictures from the midseason police dramedy "Rush Hour." You've got Dianne Wiest and James Brolin leading a superior ensemble in "Life in Pieces." There's Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden in a frenzied ER in "Code Black." And Jake McDorman...

CBS is banking on the built-in appeal of existing properties as it plans out its fall schedule, with pickups todays for four dramas – Limitless, Rush Hour, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Code Black – and two comedies – Life In Pieces and Angel From Hell. Those series orders are in addition to CBS giving an early pickup to Supergirl two days ago.
Limitless, based on the 2011 Bradley Cooper thriller of the same name, will focus on Brian Sinclair (Jack McDornan), who gains super-intelligence after taking the drug Nzt and uses his new gift to solve crimes for the FBI. Jennifer Carpenter of Dexter fame co-stars and Cooper himself may appear in the pilot, passing the torch to McDornan, as the show is expected to serve as a sort of sequel to the feature film. Heavy hitters are involved with this one as well, with the likes of Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Todd Phillips all producing.

This Week in TV News is a compliment to the Week in Review feature, which will now be focused on film news.
AMC has guaranteed two seasons to the prequel companion series of The Walking Dead, as per THR. The announcement was made earlier this week, and comes as somewhat unsurprising news. The Walking Dead continues to be one of the channel’s highest rated shows, with its popularity showing no signs of waning as the show’s fifth season rolls along. In addition, AMC has found similar commercial and critical success with Better Call Saul, its new series that is itself a spinoff of Breaking Bad.
There’s no set title for the series as of yet, and working titles have included Fear The Walking Dead and Cobalt. The first season, much like the show that spawned this spinoff, will consist of six episodes, with creator Robert Kirkman working...

Justin Hires ("21 Jump Street," "Key and Peele") is set to play Carter, the role which Chris Tucker made famous, in CBS' TV adaptation of the hit "Rush Hour" movie franchise.
He joins British actor Jon Foo ("Tekken," "Vikingdom," "The Protector") who is taking on the role of Detective Lee which Jackie Chan played in the films.
Hires' Carter is an irreverent bad-boy detective who uses unorthodox methods to get results. He also has no interest in a partner, but is forced to work with a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police detective assigned to a case in Los Angeles.
Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick penned and will executive produce the show. "National Treasure" helmer Jon Turteltaub will direct the pilot and executive produce as well.
