The livestream will begin tonight at 8:00 p.m. Pt / 11:00 p.m. Et, and will be hosted by Veeps, a livestreaming company co-founded by Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden.

In a sort of meta-anniversary situation, The Postal Service have announced a new live album Everything Will Change, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the tour that commemorated the 10th anniversary of the band’s one and only studio album Give Up. The double LP is set for release on September 8th, 2023 via Sub Pop.
Recorded while Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis were touring in 2013, Everything Will Change includes Postal Service classics like “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight,” “We Will Become Silhouettes,” “Brand New Colony,” and, of course, “Such Great Heights.” It also features a performance of “(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan,” which was originally released in 2001 under Tamborello’s other moniker Dntel, as well as a cover of Beat Happening’s 1985 tune “Our Secret” to honor their Washington indie rock forebears.
Pre-orders for Everything Will Change are ongoing. See its artwork and tracklist below.

Jenny Lewis knows her weaknesses: “I fall in love too easy, too easy,” she sings on her new single, “Cherry Baby,” “with anyone who touches me, fucks with me.” But she also knows what she wants on the easy-vibing soft-rock song, which will appear on her new LP, Joy’All (out June 9): “Cherry baby, will you be mine? … Turn me into gold, alchemy.”
Lewis previously released the album’s pedal-steel–ornamented “Puppy and a Truck,” in 2021, when Rolling Stone heralded it as the introduction of her “yacht-rock era.” A few months back,...

Unfortunately for music fans, The Postal Service was just a shortlived group formed by Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and musical artist Dntel or Jimmy Tamborello. with vocal help from Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley. But at the very least, they delivered the spectacular album Give Up which never seems to get old. Well, 11 years after that album was released, the trio decided to get the band back together, but only for a 2013 tour. Thankfully, if you weren't able to attend, director Justin Mitchell has captured the tour in a documentary called Everything Will Change and a trailer for the film has arrived. Watch it! Here's the first trailer for Justin Mitchell's documentary Everything Will Change (via The Playlist): The documentary will only be screening in theaters for one night only at select AMC Theatres locations in just 10 cities. It was just over eleven years ago when a little side project from Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and Dntel knob twiddler Jimmy Tamborello blew up, but in a way many didn't expect. Known as The Postal Service, the carefully crafted blend of melodic electronic music and indie rock on Give Up grew by word of month. Sales of the album were a steady, slow burn, but within four years or so, it went platinum. While fans clamored for another record, it wasn't to be, but the band did reunite in 2013 for a string of live dates, and now a documentary is here chronicling what went down. Directed by Justin Mitchell, "Everything Will Change" captures that 2013 tour, with Gibbard, Tamborello and Jenny Lewis (who sings backup on six songs and also toured with the band way back in 2003), all participating. It's very much something for fans, new and old,...

The second day of Lollapalooza threw a mix of weird -- lineup shuffles, claustrophobic crowds -- and wonderful -- awesome weather, wheelchair crowd surfing! -- into Chicago's Grant Park Saturday.
Beginning with the weird, the day got off to a strange start when rumors tricked out that scheduled Saturday performers Death Grips pulled a no-show at their official after party performance the night prior. The no-show was confirmed and Lolla released a terse message that the band "chose not to appear" before announcing their set cancellation.

Crowds reportedly packed the park shortly after the gates opened at 11 a.m., morphing Grant Park into a claustrophobe's nightmare. According to Tribune music critic Greg Kot, festival officials were officially reporting 100,000 attendees per day, surpassing the cap of 75,000 set several years ago.

It's Friday, friends, which means we are here to give you gifts that will be there for you as soon as your attention fades from the hard work you're currently doing. Case in point: "Some Idealistic Future," a new documentary on the Postal Service, whose only album, "Give Up," turns ten this year (that's the tin anniversary, for those who are counting). The quaint mini-movie has debuted from The Creators Project.
In it, frontman Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewis conquer the Barclays Center as part of their reunion tour. That epic jaunt across America is easily one of the year's finest tours -- anyone who has seen Gibbard live (most likely as Death Cab for Cutie or a soloist) -- knows that his music translates perfectly to the stage. The addition of Lewis gave Gibbard an added spark as well, as the two can often be seen doing a charming dance.

“We're The Postal Service, and we're a band from nowhere,” declared frontman Ben Gibbard midway through the reunited electro-pop group's life-affirming show at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre on Tuesday night. That statement is sort of true -- the band was notoriously founded a decade ago as a mail-order project between Gibbard, the singer-songwriter for Northwest indie-rock darlings Death Cab For Cutie, and Jimmy Tamborello, aka Dntel, a DJ-producer in L.A. -- it also points to a progression in the unlikely saga of this semi-supergroup, now enjoying a cult fame that took years to

The Postal Service made their first (and likely last) live TV debut on last night's The Colbert Report, performing "Such Great Heights" and "new" song "A Tattered Line Of String" as a web exclusive. Colbert also sat Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewis down for a fantastic interview, asking a series of probing questions ("How do you do bleep blorp live in front of an audience?") and embarrassing Lewis with footage from her childhood acting career.

Since announcing their reunion just a few weeks ago, the Postal Service -- the beloved duo of Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard and DJ Jimmy Tamborello -- have already planned a re-issue of their first album, an extensive tour coming up and a now new video for Funny or Die. In the star-studded video, a 2002-era Tamborello sits with a Sub Pop rep as they audition potential members for his new project, the Postal Service. The auditions draw the likes of "Weird" Al Yankovic, "Angry" Moby, Blink-182's Tom DeLonge, Aimee Mann, Guns 'n' Roses' Duff McKagan ("That's a weird name"), and more. Of...

The Postal Service's forthcoming reissue of "Give Up," the band's only album, will include two new tracks. Today, BBC radio listeners were treated to "Tattered Line of String," an all-new song that features Jenny Lewis singing alongside Ben Gibbard.
Lewis -- who fronts Rilo Kiley and sang backup on "Give Up" -- will also be featured on the second new song. The reissue hits stores on April 9, and the Postal Service have booked a stadium tour that kicks off that night in Reno, Nev. and concludes at New York's Barclays Center on June 14.
Despite building a fiercely loyal audience on the strength of 2003's "Give Up," Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) and Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel) have spent the past decade denying a reunion would ever take place. In the weeks leading up to the band's announcement, Gibbard told Spinner that there were "no plans" for Postal Service.

As expected, The Postal Service has added more dates to its 10th anniversary tour. Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello have added 10 more concerts in addition to the pair’s previously announced stop at Coachella on April 13 and April 20. Six of the 10 dates are in the U.S., while the other four additional dates are in Europe, among them Barcelona’s Primavera Soundwave festival. As previously announced, the 10th anniversary of The Postal Service’s “Give Up,” comes out April 9 on Sub Pop. Good news for Postal Service fans! The indie band that had a short run in the early 2000s is reportedly reuniting.
The band's website was changed on Jan. 21 to read simply "The Postal Service 2013."
Billboard reports that The Postal Service's label, Sub Pop, is planning to release a deluxe edition of the band's only album, 2003's "Give Up." The deluxe edition will be made available in celebration of the 10th anniversary of "Give Up." Billboard is also reporting that the band will perform a reunion set at the Los Angeles music festival, Coachella.
The Postal Service is made up of musician Ben Gibbard, who fronts Death Cab for Cutie, and producer Jimmy Tamborello of Dntel. In October, "Give Up" was certified platinum, more than nine years after it was released.

It's been 10 years since Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello released The Postal Service's one and only album, "Give Up," and the two musicians are celebrating the band's big anniversary in style. Only a couple months after "Give Up" finally went platinum, it's been announced that The Postal Service is releasing a deluxe issue of the album as well as holding a 2013 tour that will include a Coachella appearance.
Rumors of a reunion were first started by Brooklyn Vegan, and the band's new website seemingly confirmed that something big was happening in 2013. Now Billboard has the official word that The Postal Service is booked to play at Coachella and will also perform at additional dates and festivals throughout the year.

The Postal Service really might be getting back together—albeit just for tour dates, not a new record. The electro-duo composed of Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Dntel’s Jimmy Tamborello updated its website over the weekend to simply read “The Postal Service 2013.” For about a month now there have been whispers that the group would be reuniting for Coachella in April, and while there’s no confirmation of that yet, the website update certainly hints at things to come. All across the country, cheers are raining down from gaudy apartment complexes, because the Postal Service is coming back. Rumors of a reunion have been swirling for months, especially surrounding a possible Coachella performance; however, now there is a single-serving website, PostalServicemusic.net, confirming it with the unambiguous message: "The Postal Service 2013." So this news doesn't seem so out of context, here's some context: Almost exactly ten years ago, Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and Jimmy Tamborello (a.k.a. Dntel), released Give Up under the name the Postal Service, alluding to fact that the two produced the songs by mailing the tracks back and forth. Over the past decade, the record has achieved cult status and a reunion has become highly anticipated. This probably won't mean a new record (both have said as much in the past and also no one uses the mail anymore), so we're...

It took almost 10 years, but a mini-generation of indie music fans are sure to be delighted by the news that The Postal Service's one-and-done album "Give Up" has been certified platinum.
Ben Gibbard released the album in 2003 before turning his attention back to Death Cab for Cutie, a project he sustained for the next decade. The singer recently put out "Former Lives," a solo album released on the heels of his divorce from Zoeey Deschanel.
Producer Jimmy Tamborello, the other half of the group, continued work with Dntel and Headset after "Give Up."
Subpop, the famed indie label behind the release, couldn't be more thrilled about the news. In a statement published by Spin, the label said it feels "a profound sense of self-satisfaction" about the achievement. "Give Up" is Subpop's second platinum album and preceded by Nirvana's "Bleach."

San Francisco Giants pitcher, the 22nd man to toss a perfect game, got us thinking about musical perfectos.

On Wednesday night, San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain made baseball history — and totally helped my fantasy team — by tossing a perfect game against the Houston Astros. For those who have no idea what that means, Cain faced the minimum of batters — 27 — and didn't allow a single base-runner. That means no walks, no hits, no anything over nine innings (with 14 strikeouts to boot). If that sounds impressive, well, it is: Only 22 pitchers have ever thrown a perfect game in the 143-year history of Major League Baseball, and somewhat surprisingly, the list of those who've accomplished the feat reads less like a who's who of Mlb greats as it does a who's that? For every Hall of Famer (Cy Young, Sandy Koufax, Catfish Hunter) to reach perfection,...
